A while back I asked everyone for some ideas for bags for our SURPRISE TRIP for our kids!!! Some of you asked for updates on what I decided on!!! I thought it might help others trying to do something similar. I have had sooo much fun :D :) doing these and it helps me from letting the surprise slip out!!! These are the things I decided on so far:

A small backpack for each(with their fav. character on the front)
Disney flashlights(Walmart)
A necklace with their fav character(Ebay)
little candy tins (Disney store)
Magic washclothes(Disney store)
Disney sunglasses(still looking for my son's pair)
Disney chapstick(Walmart)
Disney Pens
Guest of Honor badges(Gifts of a lifetime)
Disney light chasers(Disney Store)
Disney Toothbrushes and toothpaste(Walmart)
Disney notebooks(Walmart)
Disney fun fruits and cookies(grocery store)
Mickey Mouse rain ponchos(garage sale)
$10 in Disney dollars each
A Personalized autograph book- I am making each one of them their own autograph photo album for the trip with their fav character on the front. It reads for example: Emily's Surprise WDW trip 2003. Then I am going to give stickers for each character so after they sign a page we can put a sticker on that page of the character, mainly so my 4 year old will know whose signature it is. I figure we can do that at night or on the plane on the way home. I making the books with scrapbooking stuff!! Again this will keep me busy until the big day!!!

Oh yeah, we also bought matching disney t-shirts from disney store.com on clearance for ALL of us!!

OK, overboard? :) I cannot help it;it has been soo much FUN:p And really I have found everything at really reasonable prices.
The only thing I might add is a book or two for the plane....
Unless someone has any other suggestions!!:hmmm :whistle:

I am hoping this will curb their appetite a little for souviniers(sp?)

wanna be my mom! LOL just kidding I like to do fun stuff like that for my DD but my problem is I can never wait and end up giving it to her as soon as I buy it! I have even started with my DS whose only 10 months...I bought him a lilo & stitch suitcase from Disney store on clearance for $8.

Sounds like your little ones will have a wonderful time on their suprise trip!!

Great ideas! I am going to borrow a few. Now I just need to go shopping without the kids and find a few things.

I did pick up some tins of candy and the washclothes at the Disney store the other week. Guess I gotta check out walmart and I want to look at the Disney outlet nearby also.

We are giving them to them when we get to the airport to see if they can figure out where we are going!! I guess it won't be too hard huh?:) However, we have never been to WDW only Disneyland so it might throw them for a loop, a little anyway!!:)

Wow.... What a wonderful surprise for the kids. I wish we had thought of this the first time we visited. My kids are programmed that whenever I even drive the van in the direction of Orlando they ask if we are going to WDW. (I live just outside of Tampa)

My kids are ages 10, 9 & 8 I started a surprise package (even though they know where & when we are going!) in it so far I have a spray bottle w/fan, and autograph book ($7.50 from gifts of a lifetime) thick marker, a disposable digital camera, hand wipes and batteries (for there gameboys for on the trip there and back)
and small sunscreen (coppertone makes one in the size of a large glue stick) and that is about it, hopefully that will be enough! what do you think?

That sounds great!! the fan spray bottle sounds like a good idea!!! My oldest is 9 and so I guess I am in charge of the sunscreen but a disposable camera or film for my oldest is a great idea too!!!

I also made a small package for my mom and dad, I bought 2 small battery operated fans with a cord on them to put around there necks and xtra batteries and some dramamine (for dad) It is still hot in sept. from what I hear so I thought that might be good for them they can cool themselves off with these cute fans
walgreens had them for $3.99 with the batteries included!

oh well, just thought I would share!!

Hey Jacki thanks for the tips. Where did you get the spray bottle fans?? Did you get those at walgreens too??

I originally bought those at walgreens but being the cheapskate that I am (my dad is scottish, go figure) I found them cheaper at walmart $5.94 same brand that walgreens was selling for $7.99
2 bucks is 2 bucks (but I actually saved $6.00 cuz I bought 3)
anywho that's my story and I stick to it!!
I am soooooooooo excited about our trip, I cannot wait to see the look on my parents face when they see the excitement of my kids:D I am ready to start packing now!!!!!;)

I bought a rubbermaid container and some disney stickers at the dollar tree. My son and I made our own disney box we put the stickers all over the container. I also purchased some extra photo albums at the dollar store as well so I put some of the left over stickers on them. We are slowly collecting things well need for the trip like batteries, disposable cameras, we have matching shirts things like that. you know no fun stuff. But secretly I have been storing away my own "surprise my 5 year old" stuff. I never knew they had disney flashlights I'll have to put that on my list my son loves flashlights.

All these ideas are soo great!!! What kid doesn't love flashlights!! I have also seen them at KMart! They have princess, pooh, and mickey!!! At least that's all I have seen!!!:)

Thank you I'll be sure to head out to those stores and look around when he's not with me. Does anyone know what songs they play at WDW? I haven't been there since I was 16. But I thought I remembered hearing music alot. So I checked out the Disney cd's at the library and I am gonna make some cd's for our drive down. My favorite song is zip a dee do da. My son doesn't know that one. I would just like to put the more popular ones on the cd's/
