Fisrt Class?

I was wondering if anyone knew the price difference on plane tickets from coach to first class? After getting off my sardine can for a plane and viewing these lovely seats I was just wondering how much you have to pay for that? Anyone?:D

Ok----here is an example....I am flying from Honolulu-Orlando then Orlando to Dallas then back to Honolulu for our trip in January. Coach (which is what I will be buying) for those cities is $786.00. I just looked up the same exact flights but first class--:dazed :dazed :dazed $2075.00!!!
Maybe if I win the lotto while visiting, I will take first class back to Honolulu!
Crazy prices! But heck, if I could afford it, I'd do it!
:) :) :)

First Class?

We just flew round trip from Phila. to San Francisco 2 weeks ago.
The round trip in coach was 372.00 each. For the trip home we asked how much to upgrade to first class. About 1800.00 per ticket!!! Needless to say, we stayed in coach.

Wow! There is a reason I fly like a sardine. I could buy another trip with those costs. For a two hour plane trip it is not worth it. Holy cow it's not that nice up there. Thanks for the information you two.

NO WAY!! That is unbelievable. I never would have guessed first class would have cost so much. I am currently trying to book a flight to San Juan and am watching prices. I guess I won't be checking into first class tickets!

Sometimes, if the plane is fully booked, they'll ask for volunteers to be bumped to the next flight and they'll put you in first class This happened to us in Denver and the next flight was only l hour later. Trouble is - now I'm spoiled. We once took a bump to a later flight and they gave us two free tickets anywhere in N. America.

That would "rock". I would take the first class over the free tickets I think. Only because I have never tried it and now that I know what it costs, I could never afford it.....oh well...maybe someday.:D

First class isn't always that outrageous. Make sure you ask, just for fun, for the lowest first class rate whenever you make a reservataion.

There are fares, not always advertised, with some carriers that will get you into first class for not much more than a full coach (not a heavily discounted) fare. You will have to ask for it however, as most carriers won't offer it.

Just a little insight from an airline insider.....

What if you have a package plan through Disney. Am I still able to request this? Thaks for the insider's view. It's always welcomed here. Please let me know. I never make my own arrangements and always had a travel agent do it. Now I went with WDW travel and let them handle all the details. I have a winter Package deal. Thanks again for the tip.

Also keep in mind that most of the people in first class are there because they are frequent fliers who have upgraded or are traveling on frequent flier free awards tickets, or airline employees riding on standby passes. Very few first class seats are actually sold for those astronomical prices.

Dana, any travel agent should be able to request that for you, including WDW Travel. Just let them know that you want the lowest available first class fare and see what shakes out. If you aren't successful, send me a private e-mail with your flight itinerary and I'll see if I can do anything for you.

Wow that's a very kind offer. I'll call them in the morning. I'll let you know tomorrow night what comes of it. I don't want you to put yourself out or anything ok. I appreciate your help. The kindness that is tossed around on this site is one of the number one reasons I love it here. AGain, thanks.:D

When I was in corporate America we had a policy, over 4 hours or across an ocean you could fly business or if business was not available first class. The extra room is nice, the decent food was nice, but more then anything it was the chance to relax without a toddler kicking the back of my seat for 4 hours that made it worth it.

My youngest DD's first trip to WDW was also her first flight. This was back in the days when United was the business airline and was also proud of being the official WDW airline. Anyway, at that time I was doing a lot of traveling and was a 100,000 mile member. For this trip I used a bunch of frequent flyer miles for my DW and DD's tickets and when we got to the airport I asked if they could seat us all together, my DD tells her that Daddy is taking her to WDW. The lady asked if I was a frequent flyer and I showed her my card, she looked at the computer and asked us to wait until the rest of the plane was boarded. Carolyn is watching everyone getting on the plane and is getting worried that it will leave without us. Finally the lady calls me up to the podium and, grinning ear to ear, says she has three seats, but there is an aisle between them would this be ok? I look at the tickets and they are in first class. :) Super nice trip out and a great first trip at WDW for the family. On the way home it is off to coach. As we are making our way to row 600 or whatever it was my DD stops looks around and announces that she DOES NOT want to sit here and wants to go back to the front of the plane. Took a while for her to accept that that was a rare treat indeed.

What a wonderful surprise for you and your family. That was an awesome example of great customer service skills. I always find the one that can't be bothered...:laugh Seat 600??? I think I was in that same exact seat the other night. I didn't get the pleasure of the kicking toddler, but I did get the screaming baby for 1 1/2 hours. The poor guys ears were driving him crazy. I felt so bad for him. I never seen a plane empy that quick though..:laugh :laugh :laugh
