Looking for cheap, clean hotel in Columbia, SC area

Will be driving to WDW in March and am looking for hotel to book a room at for the trip down. Will be arriving late in evening and leaving next morning, so not concerned with what activities there are. Have not driven to WDW in 5 years, so not familiar with hotels and etc.

Told DW that I bet my friends at DC could help since I know some of you live around the area.

Thanks in advance!

HEY! Are you talking about Columbia, SC? There are 3 of us from SC and DisneyAnne and PhantomBantom both live in or near Columbia so we should be able to help. I always stay at Hampton Inn when I travel and have stayed in 2 of them in the Columbia area. There rates are about $80-90 per night but you do get a continental breakfast. That is the only place we stay we visit Columbia but I'm sure Anne or Phantom will have suggestions.

WVWiseguy.... do you believe in Priceline???? If you do, let me tell ya a deal I have gotten numerous friends of mine who needed a quick room for a night... There is an Amerisuites in Irmo (my town which is on the Columbia city border) that I have gotten for $27-35 per night depending on the time of year. The rooms are suites and include morning breakfast. It is a GREAT place and only a couple of years old. I would be glad to help you if I can.

If you'd rather not risk Priceline, it is still worth their rates. There are so many new hotels in our end of town that are all suite-oriented and so nice. If you want me to get more specific, PM me and I'll fill ya in....
