Help!! MGM or Universal Studios

Hello,

My family is going to Orlando for four days. We are definitely spending one day at the magic kingdom and another day at Epcot. However, we are unsure what to do with the other 2 days. I am thinking we spend one day at Sea World, and another day at Universal. Do you agree? Or is MGM better than Universal?

Keep in mind this trip has no kids. My parents, my brother and his wife (early 30's) and I (21 years old) are the ones going.

I haven't been to Orlando in 10 years so we need some help with planning~

Thanks!

Wish I could be a bit more help, but I just wanted to let you know that with only 4-days you may only want to hit 2 maybe 3 parks. There is so much to do you may find yourself wanting to return to MK or Epcot rather than going to another park.
Good luck with your planning.

Welcome to DC. Are you staying in a WDW resort or off property? What appeals to your family more..Universal or MGM? If you are looking for more thrill rides, then go for Universal. With only 4 days to play, I would hang at the WDW parks and leave the others for another trip. If you haven't been there in 10 years, you have more than enough to see and do to keep you busy. MGM is a great park and offers a little something for everyone. It also happens to be my personal favorite. Don't miss out on Animal Kingdom if you have never seen it and there are the water parks and DTD/Pleasure island since you are all "of age" to enjoy it to the fullest. Like, Buzz said, you may want to go to Epcot or MK a second day too. Going after ten years is almost as close to as going for the first time. It may take half days plus your full to see everyrthing in each of those two great parks. When are you going? If it's during a busy time of year, you definately need 1 1/2 - 2 days to see the entire park and try out the attractions. Please let me know if there is any help you need. I love to help with planning. In the mean time, it wouldn't hurt to go to your local book store and pick up a copy of the Unofficial Guide to WDW and the Passporter Guide book. These great books will fill you in on all the new stuff and allow you to make a sound judgement when it comes to planning your days. Hope this helped.

mgoblue2, welcome to DisneyCentral

In my opinion ..as a Disney fan, yes Disney Studios/MGM is better then Universal ..but then I have never been to Universal Florida ..only the one in Ca. and I didnt care for it at all.
I agree too that you may want to spend more then a day at Epcot.. and you should consider Animal Kingdom.
Of course not having children in the group ..you can move faster *grin* so you maybe able to do more in 4 days :)

I may be the most un-biased opinion you may see... Not because I don't love Disney, but because we took a trip to Orlando in October of this past year and went to Universal!

My OPINION... SKIP the BIG U and go to MGM!!! We were not impressed with the BIG U at all! We have to Universal in CA and LOVED IT... But we were extremely disappointed with the BIG U in FL!

Just my opinion...

First off, thanks for the input. We are staying at a non Disney hotel...You guys have me leaning towards MGM over Universal. Is Animal Kingdom bet ter than Sea World? Are there rides? Or is it just a big zoo?

With four days you really have to pick and choose. I would tend to agree with everyone else. Stick to Disney. It's not that the other parks don't have things to offer, they do. But you can drive yourself crazy trying to get it all in. As for Animal Kingdom or Sea World. They're both great parks, but I would go with Animal Kingdom. Yes, there are some rides and "attractions". The Dinosaur ride is wild - definitely a thrill ride. In the same area is Triceratops Spin. Kali River Rapids is a wild water raft ride - caution you will get BEYOND SOAKED. Other great attractions are the Kilimanjaro Safari - which is about as close to going on an African Safari as you can get. "It's Tough to be a Bug is a great 3-D film in the Tree of Life. The "Festival of the Lion King" is a fantastic "Broadway" type musical. Plus, there are nature walks and animals galore. Another plus of Animal Kingdom is that it is a park which you can probably do in less than one day, leaving you time to revisit other favourites.
