Help with figuring out what to see in 3-4 days

My family is visiting Disney World in 2 weeks. My mom, dad and I are going to be there for four days. My brother and sister in law are coming for only three days. My parents and I will get the 4 day hopper, but obviously this will not be available to my brother and sister in law. Tell me what you guys think of our planned trip:

Thursday (just my parents and I): Animal Kingdom
Friday: Magic Kingdom
Saturday: MGM
Sunday: Epcot (we have to leave around 7 because we have a flight leaving later that night).

What do you guys think? I have been told Epcot is not a full day trip so I figured we should go there on the day where we have to leave early. Is MGM a whole day trip?

Keep in mind everyone on the trip is an adult.

Thanks!

Actually Epcot and MGM are full day parks...whereas AK is not. The best part of the park hopper passes is that you can go to one park in the morning, and hop to another park for the afternoon or evening. We find that taking a break in the middle of the day is really helpful to keep us going. Plus if one park is sort of crowded you might have better luck at a different park. If it is all adults, you should be able to make pretty good time touring. Your best bet would be to pick up a guide book like the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. They have touring guides in the book for a single day in the parks. Make sure you have a list of everyone's "must see" things, that way you can hit those first, making everyone happy.
Welcome to DC and feel free to ask us anything! We all love to help plan. :)

I'd stick around Epcot for the fireworks. AK you could probably hit on Sunday and leave early. The other parks are usually good for a whole day! Unless its your whole family that wants to go to Epcot and MGM.

You don't mention if you are staying on WDW property. If you are you have access to the Extra Magic Hour each day. For your trip that would be:
Thursday - Magic Kingdom
Friday - Animal Kingdom
Saturday - MGM
Sunday - Magic Kingdom.

Like said above you could go to AK on Friday morning, hit the EMH if you're staying on site and then go to Epcot in the afternoon.

I know we are staying on site because of the perks like EMH.

Have a great time!!

If you want to see the Spectro Magic Parade and Wishes, they are on Saturday night, so yu may want to change your Magic Kingdom day to then.

So this is what we are thinking to do for my brother and sister who will only be there for 3 days

Friday - MGM
Sat- Magic Kingdom
Sun - Epcot.

They have to leave at 7 on Sunday, so we think its best to make Epcot on the shorteneed day. What do you all think?

Also, we want to go to the park with more rides. I figured MGM has more rides than Epcot.

I would definitely make plans to see Spectromagic and Wishes on Saturday night, but I would not spend all of Saturday at the MK. This park gets more crowded on Saturdays, than any other. One alternative would be to spend some Saturday time at Epcot, then take the monorail over to the MK for the parade and fireworks. Are you staying on-site? My choice would be (just my opinion)

Friday - Magic Kingdom
Saturday - Epcot (which has some GREAT rides)
Over to MK for Spectro (maybe after a dinner at a
World Showcase restaurant)
Sunday - MGM (a much smaller park)

hmm...the problem is that since my brother and sister in law will only be there for three days, he can't get a park hopper...or can he?

I would be willing to follow your plan but I don't think they can park hop without the 4 day park hopper pass!

my family is leaving all the planning to me so i am a bit confused. thanks for all the help!

my brother and sister law are staying on site. my parents and i are not.

Is this a 1 time trip? I have never gotten a park hopper, but from what I have heard you can save the days you dont use and use them on another trip. So if they will go to Disney again in the future they can get the park hopper and use any days they do not use on a future trip. I coudl be completely wrong and if I am, ignore me! lol..

You are correct. Days never expire on Park Hopper tickets. The only exception is the ULTIMATE Park Hopper ticket. We actually used up some days on tickets bought 3 years ago, on our most recent trip. So, purchasing a Park Hopper is something that perhaps your brother should consider.
