Re: Tom's Travels - Episode 6
Again, worth the wait! I am anxiously waiting your thoughts on the bizarre juxtaposition of happy, carefree kids and their green queasy parents in the "after" space training room at Mission:Space...

Re: Tom's Travels - Episode 6
oh Tom, my husband said I must tell you straight away that Louisiana – Sportsman’s paradise, has nothing at all to do with Golf :)
since his birthplace is Louisiana.. *grin* Sportsmans paradise refers to hunting and fishing. (neither can be done without a cooler of beer though) Of course since I am native Texan, I personally believe that really comes in second to Texas ..but then every state comes in second to Texas. And one of the things Texans are the most famous for is Bragging and B.S. Since you didnt mention seeing any Texas license plates I am disappointed :( We are the Lone Star State ..and our newest Plates have a space shuttle on them. Ok now as to the rest of episode 6 ..bravo!!!

Re: Tom's Travels - Episode 6
Oh and about the use of words differently .. Dixie and I have had several laughs over things like biscuits .. which in the states, (specially the southern ones) are often eaten with gravy, I am sure though you do not eat your biscuits with gravy. And just yesterday we went over the word Holiday again. In the states a holiday is Christmas, New Years, and such, while ya'll go on Holiday's meaning vacation trips and you have bank Holidays ... which I understand from Dixie are much the same as our goverment holidays.
as to any of your report being negative, I do not find them so. They are a wonderful look at our country through the eyes of someone visiting the first time .. boy would I love for you to visit Texas .. after all "its a whole other country"

One of your trips over this side of the pond, you should try to make it to New England. If you think Pickup Pete is scary, wait 'til you meet SUV Sally driving her oversized monster down the highway about 20mph faster than the speed limit with a carload of soccer-bound tots while she manages to drink her cup of Dunkin' Donuts coffee, talk on the cell phone and smoke a cigarrette while artfully dodging all the other cars on the road. Actually, dodging isn't quite an accurate description. It's more like all the other cars are fearfully geting out of her way because she's driving a vehicle that's nearly as large as a semi-tractor trailer, straddling the white lines, clearly oblivious to the world around her. You have only BEGUN to enjoy the American Adventure. ![]()

Tink... I am a native Texan, too! And we rock!!!
Tom, You don't owe an explanation here... Let's face it, even the most sincere Disney-obsessed fan can still recognize the fact that some of the guests are hilarious -- how about the mom at Kali River Rapids yelling, "No Bobby! Don't pee in the bushes by that lady! Go pee in the bushes over THERE!" Or the dad who loudly and in front of dozens told his kids to "look really sad -- limp if you have to!" so his family could try to get into Typhoon Lagoon after it had already reached capacity for the day. Maybe not examples of the finest among us, but hilarious nonetheless! Sometimes bad behavior (bad driving, bad security, bad food...) is just funny. Please continue to share your unabridged, full-strength travel episodes!

Re: Tom's Travels - Episode 6
OK this is my favorite episode yet!!!!! That is the way I feel about Maelstrom and El Rio Del Tiempo. El Rio needs to be taken out!!!!! Test-Track is one of my favorites at Epcot , and all of WDW for that matter. A tip to everyone going to WDW: Ride the singles line for Test-Track!!! It may say 20 minutes, but rarely is and because of the seating configurations they usually need a lot of singles! (BTW: I tried this on M:S too and it did not work at all.)

Re: Tom's Travels - Episode 6
NEw Jersey = The Garden State.....I'm not sure what we are gardening over here, but when I figure it out I'll let you know. I love that game! My parents used to make me, my sister and brother play in the car o we wouldn't kill each other...lol
Tom - Episode 6 rocks. Ilove how you point out your little observations negative or positive. You have a great talent for trip reporting. Another word for toilet room = it's one of the three S's with house on the end....that's the Jersey term.... or one of the three S's and make it ryme with quitter.....We are so sophisticated over here ![]()

Re: Tom's Travels - Episode 6
What about that mysterious room where guys go "to see a man about a horse?" Or how about grown women going to "the little girls' room?"
