JTslykin trip report -day 1

Hello. We are back. Our trip was really in three separate parts. The first part or first two days is our family of four staying at Caribbean Beach resort. On Tuesday my parents and sisters and family arrive making our group 12 people staying in two FW cabins that is when we get the park tickets also. Then 7 members go home and my mom comes with our family to DCL and we meet up with my in-laws.

Me-Tammy-35yoa-the planner
Joe-DH-32 yoa-goes with the flow
Jake-DS-6yoa
Karsen-DD-4yoa

We are up and ready and my sister-in- law picks us up at 8 am. We have 6 luggage bags and a stroller. We are all in our warm cloths- jeans, t-shirt, light jackets. We all have one carry-on. Our flight is direct from Philly to Orlando, which is nice with kids. Joe and Karsen sit in front of Jake and I on the plane. Now my son is very organized and hates to be dirty, sticky, wet ect… So the airline steward brings around the pretzel and soda. Now I should have known to hold that cup but no. Jake put his cup on my tray to get his space organized and yep you guessed it. Full cup of soda in my lap and down into my shoe. Oh well not much we can do about it now so we laugh it off.

We arrive in Orlando and the Tiffany Town car driver is waiting for us. It takes a long time to get the luggage but we gather it all up and head out into a van. We requested a town car but the van was fine. It was not the nicest van I have ever been in but the extra space made up for it. I ask him to go to Publix, which was smaller, and then we were used to but had everything we needed. DH noticed the bagger putting one or two things into each plastic bag and grabbed a bunch of paper bags.

We are on our way again. The welcome sign, we made it. Wait trees, grass, open space where is Mickey? Wait Tammy calm down. You were told it was huge this is not DL. I couldn’t believe how truly big it is.

We arrive a CB and the check in line is not to long it is around 2:30. I go to the check in while DH watches the luggage and kids. Check in went fine she got my fax and we were put into a smoking room Aruba 51. We are loaded into a van and driven to our room, forget about WDW being large this resort is large!! The grounds were very nice and the room was all right. At check in she forgot to give us our room keys but the luggage guy let us in and brought the room keys right back. We transfer the 17 plastic grocery bags to 5 paper bags that will make it easier to transport from one resort to the next. Lets get these sticky jeans off and hit the pool. Were is the camera? I look at my husband that was his carry-on bag. The look of total dread is on his face and he takes off in a dead run to the front check in area. I am pacing but decide whatever happens we will deal with- lets hit the pool kids. I leave a note and take my cell phone. We swim for 30 minutes and head back to the room. OOPS—my husband left so fast he forgot a room key and his phone he is sitting outside the room but he has the camera bag. He was rearranging the cart and must have set the bag down. He said he found it right were he left it. Only in WDW.

We change for our PS at Chef Mickey’s. I will never come to WDW without hitting Chef Mickey’s first. It was a perfect way to start our trip. I took the advice I got on these forums and feed my family breakfast at home then handed out snacks if they asked for them. So we were hungry and the food was good. The best was feeling like Mickey welcomed us. The kids loved that they came right to the table. After dinner we hit the pool again and put the kids to bed being read Disney stories on TV. They thought that was cool also.

Day 2 coming soon…

Re: JTslykin trip report -day 1

Yes I felt Caribbean Beach was a little big for us. A little to spread out for what we like. But on the other hand I am glad we tried it. We like to try different place so we will more then likely never stay the same place twice.
