I went to a conference in Orlando this past week and got an afternoon at EPCOT, Tuesday 7/13. YEAH!!!!!!!!!! I was majorly excited. This excitement, however, was not shared by the rest of the group I traveled with. One even boasted about hating Disney But I didn't let that dampen my spirits. I was on a recon mission for our December trip. I hadn't been to EPCOT since 1996.
It was familiar and different all at the same time.

We started with SE which I enjoyed. Then it was a quick stop at Ice station cool where I tricked all into a taste of Beverly We all liked the watermellon. Then we headed to HISA (anything to get out of the heat). For someone who hated Disney my friend sure was laughing. It was after the show when I felt the magic and knew all was not lost.

The group split, I was tring not to show my joy, and I got to play tour guide for two new Canadian friends who were catching the magic. We headed straight for MS and I suggested the single rider line (30 min wait) Oh what a ride. I was the engineer and loved the whole experience.

We did a little shopping and then strolled into the WS to try to find the rest of our group in Mexico. No luck but thanks to all of you we didn find the Margarittas which really hit the spot since it was 95 and 100% humidity. With icy refreshment in hand we continued along just soaking in the sights and looking for the rest of the group, not really but it sounded good. By the time we reached the UK our glases were empty and our stomachs wanted food. We lucked out finding a table in the pub and ordered a bite and a pint. I was getting close to time for my friends to attend the Dessert reception during Illuminations which they had earned from our company ( I missed it by 4 recruits) so we parted company and I was on my own.

I went into comando mode and headed to the Boardwalk to check out BWI. This was my first time seeing it in person. I was so excited I love everything about it. It fits my style perfectly. I didn't want to leave. I snapped a few pics to tease the family with and headed back to EPCOT so I could get around the crowd before the fireworks.

I stopped at the pintrader and met a really nice CM named Bernidette who I will be sure to look for in December. I didn't want to watch Ill. with out my family so she kept me busy talking about pins and the Boardwalk.

Then it was over and I slowly made my way out to the Cabs where I had the good fortune of sharing one with other convention goers.

It's way too long a wait till December. This trip was such a tease. I'll just have to keep reading this board for my Disney fix.

You know what? I honestly don't think I've ever talked to someone who "hate's Disney" ...I mean there is something for everyone and everyone that I have ever talked to about Disney likes it or loves it there. Eventhough they may not go a lot, they still like it. Your little trip sounded like a lot of fun!! I love Epcot!

I hesitate to say this for fear that I might be banned from here,but my sister and brother-in-law took my niece and nephew to AK and they hated it!!!(Hides in the corner!!!)

Glad you had a day at Epcot to get you ready for your December trip. I wish I had a conference down there on Rocking Roller Coaster...lol
