As for the beans, let me think about it....lol.

Nasty? Yeah, I guess I do get a little edgy, when I try to be completely clear, about what I post, perhpas ignoring the point intentionally, and folks don't get it, and try and take shots. I've read much worse here, that gets rave reviews.

Re: Trip report...

Wow, Curtis! I really was interested to read your report, but I have to say that what made it the most fascinating was that we see eye-to-eye on practically nothing! Isn't it cool how Disney has prepared a vacation spot so diverse that we can all be entertained differently? Hail to Disney for that!
For instance, we LOVE Haunted Mansion, and Speceship:Earth is a traditional fave. In fact, Epcot is perhaps our favorite park, with the possible exception of MGM! In fact, sometimes, we don't even go to Magic Kingdom, and we often only go to Animal Kingdom one morning per vacation! Why? Because it gives us a couple of extra days to GO TO THE WATER PARKS!!!
In fact, we try to avoid restaurants like Planet Hollywood and ESPN Club, because you can visit them in any major city, and they are very un-Disney!
My point is not to criticize your family's enjoyment or lack of it, but rather to show that a vacation at WDW can be tailored to any family's particular tastes! For your next trip, be sure to hang out at this website, and buy a few books, like Unofficial Guide... and Fodor's, etc. You will be able to put together something you will really enjoy more! Good luck on your next trip!

I can't imagine any two families who would like all the same things, so I am not at all surpised, really. There's something for everyone, but I doubt anyone likes it all. If they say they do, I'd question they are honest...lol.

I am sure I am atypical of the normal DC poster, in terms of my review, but like I said before, I call a spade a spade. No reason to say we liked something we didn't, for any reason. What we liked we liked, and what we didn't, we didn't.

The reasons we liked Planet Hollywood, and ESPN, beyond the food, was the fact they were "Un-Disney", and a nice break, from the Disney overload. We don't live within several hundred miles of either.

As for the Water Parks, I guess it's where I live, but we have water parks, within a couple of hours of our house, just as good, so it the draw wasn't there for us. The amount of money we spend on the trip, I don't want to duplicate something I can get back home, better and cheaper.

I am glad your intention wasn't to criticize(I realized that... ) because I am sure plenty are, even if they don't post it here....lol.

Re: Trip report...

Curtis... I take it you are a Johnson County guy? Lenexa or OP, maybe? The reason I ask is that I also have lived in Johnson County, which is not a diversified area. For that reason, I always thought it was a terrific experience to travel abroad and to go to places that world travellers tend to converge upon -- New York City, DisneyWorld, London, etc. Don't you find it enjoyable to be exposed to all sorts of people from all sorts of places?

Nope further south, Crawford county. Actually a very diverse area, considering the population, due to a local University, with a very big student exchange program, as well as a huge influx of illegal immigrants here for employment. That's a whole different conversation....lol.

I do enjoy exposure to different people and cultures, but I don't find it any more enjoyable, than a conversation with someone from New York, or Chicago. For me, it's all interesting. So long as the person isn't disingenuous, and rude, I could care less where you come from.

Re: Trip report...

Johnson County not diverse!?! Bite your tongue! We've got tons of diversity here..... Just the other day I saw a democrat!!!!!!

Curtis - You in P-Burg? Been to Chicken Mary's or 1106 lately?

To all - I know things said on e-forums such as this are easy to get hurt by, but keep in mind that it's very hard to "hear" a persons true meanings by reading them. After all, we're talking about the happiest place on earth!!!! Take the forums for what it's worth, people of different temperments, talents, and convictions sharing their views.

Arma actually, just about ten miles north of Pittsburg. I do enjoy the greasy 1106 cheeseburger once and awhile...lol. Although, we do prefer the chicken at Chicken Annies, in Ringo, the Chicken Fried Steak, at Mary's is tasty. Man, now I am starving....lmao.

Oh and your comments on the e-forums, well said...

As for Johnson County, I think Pittsburg is probably more diverse...lol.

Annies!!??!! Oh, now 'dem are fightin' words!!!! If you're in Arma, you must be around Ryders. I belong to a hunting club in Baxter Springs and spend a bunch of time in the Pittsburg area.

Hey Chicken Houses is a tough competition, in this area. Loyalties are loyalties...lol.

I haven't been in Ryder's in years. My DD is starting to show an interest in fishing, and I don't even own any gear, but I'll probably have to now...lol.

Personally, I love living in this part of the country. Close enough to most anything we could want, and get to stay close to family, and earn a good living, without all the big city stress...
