Tinks August 2004 TR

Day 1
8/4

As most you know already, we were too excited to wait and left a day early. We
stopped in Ocala and got our room at the PC a night early. It took a little longer, because this time the CM at Ocala tried to tell me it couldnt be done since my reservation was made online. I told her I had done this in March and used the same TA then and had no problem with arriving a night early and getting a room at the Welcome Center. She didnt want to believe me ..but after she did get our room. I was a little worried about check-in. We had always checked in early in the morning with no lines hardly.. but it was just as quick as ever. And this time we finally got the 4th floor in the 90's building and just as in June we were facing the pool. Melvin wasnt feeling good ..so we decided after a meal in the food court we would just go on up to the room and the girls could go down to the pool if they wanted. Lisa was the only one who went ..she tried out both pools for the first time and some how (we still dont understand how) she hit her nose on the bottom of the pool and so in all the pictures you will see of her and barbie she has a spot on her nose ..its just an odd spot to hit considering.
Nothing much about the first day, or evening really, except we were just so happy to be back.

ohh and I meant to mention ..when we got back to the room and watched the news they were saying how Tigger was cleared of the charges. I had never told the girls about this ..but now I had to .. it doesnt matter their comments ... except maybe to say ..they said they would never have believed it even if he had not been cleared.
Here is a picture I took of the sunset that evening.

Re: Tinks August 2004 TR

day 2
8/5

Wow the day was wonderful, the weather was so nice, it was hard to believe. Much cooler then the heat we had left behind in Texas.
Everyone was up and ready and we actually made early entry at MK! After going through the gates the girls lined up for a couple of characters.
Now this is where I got confused. Back before they stopped the Early Entry .. when they opened the parks for resort guest, all the major attractions were open .. like Splash Mt. ... but the only part of the park that was open was Tomorrowland and Fantasyland. We normally would have started off to the left and road Splash Mt. first but since it was closed we went through and did MPMM. Great way to start the day :) then headed over to Tomorrowland, and did everything there. it was kinda funny because there was only 2 other people on COP. We didnt do TimeKeeper that day though because it was a long long wait. We did notice from the TTA that there was a huge mess down where they were working on the Stitch attraction. (later in the week a CM told us that they are behind schedule on it but ahead of schedule on Soaring and Expedition Everest) . Barbie had to have a Stitch hat ..which you will notice she is wearing in nearly every picture... she is also seldom seen with out her Stitch backpack, she bought in March. After HM, Country Bears, Splash and BTMR, we headed for lunch at the CP ..this is where we had the biggest laugh of the day at Barbie's expense. Our waiter Micheal was wonderful ... at one point, he got down on one knee and began to sing to Barbie ..who refused to look at him.. she just continued to eat her ice cream and turn red ... I wish you could see the video ..but I do have a picture :)
after lunch we went and sat and waited to for the parade. Then it was off to Adventureland for the Tiki birds, the jungle cruise, and POC.
Now I have to tell you that we still laugh when we think about out guide on the JC that day... just as we were about to go in to the dark tunnel, he asked for a show of hands ..who wanted to go in .. everyone raised their hands and he said .. Well folks this is florida ..so I need a recount. Most of his routine was some we had never heard .. like when we passed the camp that the gorrilias had trashed .. he said they were his in-laws. I know many WDW vets find the JC jokes corny ..be we always love them .. except when the guide seems to just be like a drone, its great though that we have rarely gotten that kind of guide.
After POC we went to the Diamond Horseshoe ..this was our first time seeing the new show, It was ok ..but, I miss the other show :( the girls did enjoy the line dancing.
We then went over to Toontown Fair and toured Mickey and Minnies house, did a bit of shopping and then headed back over to the Plaza Pavillion for Wishes. After Wishes we let the crowd flow out of MK as we sat and enjoyed the view, teased Barbie about Micheal, teased Lisa about her nose and watched the castle change colors.
We got back to the PC and had supper in the food court and off to bed :)

this is the picture of Barbie and Micheal at CP

Michael looks like a blast...poor DGD! She must have wanted to die...girls at that age don't appreciate the beauty of a man that will actually sing to them.. At her age, I would have reacted the same exact way..lol Sounds like a great first day. That picture of the sunset was gorgeous!

yep thats the one by the 90's. I know many people think that the 90's is a long walk to the bus and food court but if you cut across the parking lot as so many do ..its really not so far. and did I mention yet you can see Illuminations fireworks from a corner of the 90's .. I bet though you can see it from the building with the bowling pins better though.. I think thats the 50's.

Well Tom .. check this thread, http://www.disneycentral.com/forum/s...950#post135950

I will tell you thought that Dixie said this morning after what she has gone through the past 4 days .. Splash Mt. should be a breeze, so she has promised a
picture ..and she promised DH that she would even do Mission Space!!!

Oh and I asked her this morning .. did she turn the lights out in England ..because it seemed as if all the English (with maybe the exception of Tom) are at WDW
