Keys To The Kingdom Tour

Just got back from Disney last Monday. It was wonderful and the weather was absolutely gorgeous. But I wanted to mention the tour we took. My sister booked the Keys to the Kingdom Tour for the four of us, and I'll tell you it was great. It included lunch, we went backstage and to the underground tunnel and learned alot of stuff about Disney.

Also they took us on two rides without waiting in line, which was a nice added extra too. At the end they gives us a Key to the Kingdom pin. What a nice keepsake it is. I thought the trip was well worth it and would recommend it to anyone.

Wishing I was back in Disney, lol..........take care

Re: Keys To The Kingdom Tour

Thanks for the review! My DH and I are doing this tour Dec 24th. (We figured it would be a great way to spend time in the MK without standing in huge lines all day!)
Just a couple quick questions for you...
How long was your tour? What rides did you go on? I was told no cameras or cell phones were allowed but we will probably have ours with us for the day - Did they provide a place to check those types of things?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Keys To The Kingdom Tour

Hi there!
We are going to WDW on the 22nd of Dec through the 30 and are so excited about going! I am 37 and have never been away from my family but my son <of 14> wanted to go there this year to do it up right he said, so off we will be going!
We are limited on funds as many ppl are that go on vacation but there is the 3 of us and I do believe that My mother is going so that would make 4! I have taken him there in 2000 and we did nothing but just the parks, no extra's in sorta way! I was not a good vacation! Took it with my sister and his husband and they just had other ideas than what we did on what/where/how to go and do things so we fought more than enjoyed, so you can see why I am looking forward to this time as well!
Is it expensive that tour that you took and where do I sign up for this? I would like to suprise everyone going with this when we get there, that would be so much fun on Christmas Eve or even Christmas.
We have been told that this is the worst time of the year to go, but we dont really care about that, we are just looking forward to going and haveing a good time and just soaking it all up regardless what others think! Please let me know on this information if you dont mind, and if you have any other suggestions while we are there!

In April of last year DW and I celebrated our 10th anniversary at WDW. One of our activities was to go on the Keys to the Kingdom Tour. We loved it. I highly recommend it to anyone.

Re: Keys To The Kingdom Tour

Hi Msellusion
Disney does require that you be 16 years of age for this tour, so you may need to wait a couple of years until your son is a bit older.
The tour is $58 a person but there are discounts available for Disney Visa cardholders, DVC members and others.
You can find more tour information on allearsnet.com or by calling (407)wdw-tour.

Looks like we were posting at the same time! Yes, you do need to be 16 for this tour.

Re: Keys To The Kingdom Tour

We took the tour in 2002 and we went on Haunted Mansion and Jungle Cruise. It was a great tour and we waited 9 years to take it! DS had to be 16 before we could go. Another tour we highly recommend is Animal Kingdom's Wild by Design. You must be 14 for that one but it is fantastic.

Re: Keys To The Kingdom Tour

We took the tour in Sept and it was great. It took us about 5 hours for the whole thing. We got to ride HM and POC (the jungle cruise was being redone... we saw a hippo being painted behind Splash Mount). We got to hear about so many different things!!! I would say if you have the time to do it, its well worth it!!

Re: Keys To The Kingdom Tour

Thanks for all the information! Even though my son is 14 he is almost 6 foot and about 235 pounds, BIG BOY, I wonder if they would even ask for his ID since everyone thinks that he looks like he is 18/19 years old! No big deal, I am sure there are others, and since we are truly Animal Kingdom fans, we shall try to research that tour that someone mentioned! I will keep checking back, reading the boards gets me so much more excited to go! We have been so busy with so many things around here we kinda forget that we are going til we read, or see something on tv, Sad but true, next month will be ALOT better!

When we signed up for our tour we were told to bring ID with us. I am not sure if this is for security reasons, to verify age or what. I wouldn't bother risking it though. Do one of the other tours like the one at AK and Keys can be something for you to look forward to on your next trip!

Hi, I am scheduled to take this tour pretty soon as well, and I noticed someone had mentioned in this thread that cameras were not permitted. Is that confirmed???

We were told this by the CM that took our reservation. As well, the WDW website also states this. Try the URL below:

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw...ingdomTourPage

I just hope that there is someplace we can check our camera as I don't want to leave it back at the hotel as we will be doing other things including the Candlelight Processional that day. I guess the worst case scenario is that I just get a locker for my camera...

Re: Keys To The Kingdom Tour

The Keys to the Kingdom tour would be recommended to most of the regulars who post or view here. One big caveat: This tour is long. That's one reason they include lunch. It's something like 6 hours long or more, and by the time you're in the Utilidor, many will be growing weary and wondering how soon it'll end. But if you can't get enough Disney on your Disney vacation, do it.
