Trip Summary Oct 25-Nov. 1st

We’re back from our first trip to Disney World – in one word, it was PERFECT!

Here is our trip summary:

We arrived at our resort early in the afternoon of Oct. 25th – immediately after checking in, we jumped in the pool at our resort the Pop Century! We were so hot and the pool refreshed us. The girls received complimentary lanyards and a pin (oh no, our pin addiction has begun – more on this later). Later that day we went to Magic Kingdom of course – we couldn’t stay away and I videotaped the girl’s reaction to their first site of Cinderella’s castle. We saw Cinderella’s Show (wonderful!) at the castle and the girls got some signatures in their autograph books.

The next day, we were at Magic Kingdom, just after opening – my hubby went on Space Mountain first, then we made our way to Toontown stopping to ride the Speedway. That day we went on The Haunted Mansion (loved it!), Peter Pan’s Flight and saw Mickey’s Philharmagic which is just superb and the Country Bears Jamboree (girls loved this but it was so so for hubby and I). We lunched at The Cyrstal Palace (we had no PS but only waited 5 minutes – woohoo!) and the girls loved seeing Winnie and friends. We had a dinner PS at Ohana’s – this was amazing and I would highly recommend this restaurant. The coconut race for the children was fun and the food amazing.

Oct. 27th was my birthday and I got my birthday pin. We went to MGM, hubby did the Tower of Terror and the RocknRoller Coaster, then we saw Ariel’s show which was cute, but too short in my opinion. We saw It’s a Bug’s Life show – soooo good. My 4 yr old has decided she didn’t want to see any 3D shows – the sounds scared her. We had a PS at Chef Mickey’s where I had my photo taken with Donald with my birthday cupcake. Chef Mickey’s was very nice but I preferred Ohana’s.

Oct. 28th led us to Epcot where hubby rode Mission Space, but couldn’t use his Fastpass for Test Track as it was down. We visited some countries and then back to the hotel for the pool. That night we went to Hoop Dee Doo, a total hit with my girls! I was surprised, but the show is sooo good and funny and they were riveted the whole time! My 4 yr old was chosen to help call everyone to dinner – she loved that and got a complimentary photo!

On Oct. 29th, we headed to Animal Kingdom which we liked, especially the Kilamanjaro Safari which was excellent and a must do! It was so hot on this day so we were only at AL for a few hours and then… back to the pool!!! My stamina had been good until this day – I just felt so tired as did hubby! Lol.

On the Sat. the 30th, we headed to Downtown Disney – woohoo – I love shopping! We held the girls off on buying until this day and then let them get a few mementos – My 7 yr old picked out a huge Tinkerbelle Waterglobe (she collects waterglobes), a baby Ariel doll and a Minnie doll…My 4 yr old picked out a Snow White Waterglobe (her favourite princess) and a snow white figurine, snow white shoes, and a Pooh plush toy. We bought all of our gifts for nieces and nephew, parents and sister and had it all shipped home. We just happened (cough, cough) to be there on the day that the Limited Edition Pins for the Scavenger Hunt were released and boy oh boy, am I addicted! We got some of them, am missing 3 I think – we also picked up the Election 2004 surprise pins which I heard were suppose to be released on the 2nd but were released early. It was fun! The girls each came back with 14 pins each, not including the LE pins for me! That evening we went to MK to see the Spectromagic Parade and Wishes – just stunning!!!!!! The crowds were large, but Disney runs sooo efficiently, it only took us about 25 minutes to get back to our resort. Amazing!

Sun. Oct. 31st – we relaxed by the pool most of the day, packed and got ready to go the Halloween Party. We had such an amazing time at the Party – big crowds but not too too crazy. We got to see Mickey in Toontown – he was dressed as a scarecrow, rode on Snow White’s Adventures and the Winnie the Pooh ride – both so cute! We had so much candy too – they were very generous with candy this year. The parade was stunning but I missed most of the fireworks b/c my daughter was very scared so I had to take her into the shops….that’s okay, poor munchkin.

We departed on the 1st, but I didn’t want to leave. Our trip was spectacular and the memories will stay with me forever…now, I’m off to drop off my film! Hope you enjoyed reading…I think I covered most of the highlights. Dina

Re: Trip Summary Oct 25-Nov. 1st

PC is very nice...but I have no other resorts to compare it too...it's huge, but the rooms a bit small...it didn't bother me b/c we weren't in our rooms much, except to sleep. Definitely get one of the refillable mugs in the restaurants...it's 11.99. We used it quite a lot and shared it between the 4 of us. The hotel is very clean...I would ask for something i.e extra towels and they would appear in about a minute or two. The staff are great and leave you messages to remind you about reservations, for us, the time change, checkout etc. We had a wonderful experience...another family we know go there every year and love it...we stayed in the 1960s section which is very close to the main restaurants and everything else. We also liked having a main floor room that was super close to one of the pools. Have a wonderful time in december! We sta
