Dopey's Great Adventure
Dopey’s Great (somewhat long) Adventure Day 1 First of all let me tell you that this was our most magical trip to WDW! We arrived at the Orlando Airport at 1:30 and were greeted by Chris from Quicksilver. What a great way to start any vacation. This family highly recommends it. We arrived at POR about 45 minutes later. It felt as though we were the only people there. They gave us a choice of rooms. We got a corner room but even though we were told that it is one of the newly remodeled rooms—it was not. No matter, it was a pleasant enough room, no problem there. We went to the pool IMMEDIATELY and played for a couple of hours. Then off to the Beach Club Resort and dinner at Cape May Café. Our PS is for 7:30. Their seafood buffet was what I was after and I was not disappointed. Also, the resort is so pretty. We were too stuffed for anything at Beaches and Cream and have to save that for the next trip. End Day 1. Now before you notice it I will tell you: Yes we are back - tracking through this park big time. Never mind what the Unofficial Guide or anyone else says, we couldn’t help ourselves. The GPS had been forgotten at home and the mouse maps reeked havoc in the PDA and had to be removed. Besides, it wasn’t busy and we all had a really good time walking back and forth through all of the parks. So here goes: Day2 MAGIC KINGDOM DAY The sun is shining, 79 degrees. We get there around 9 am, yes, it is early admission day, we missed that, but there were very few people in the park. Got Birthday buttons for the boys at City Hall and are on our way to the Bakery for some breakfast goodies. Mmmmm. Our first trip is to Splash Mountain and we walk right on. Twice. Next comes BTMR. Then we are off to Tom Sawyer Island for a good look around. That’s always a fun place to shoot at the enemy and try to find Indjin Joe. Everywhere we go, the boys get Happy Birthday wishes and we are either led to the front of the almost non-existent lines or they give us Fast Passes for another ride, which we didn't use cause they were for much later times. This meant that even with no lines, people still got fast passes and then "waited" to come back when they didn't have to wait. Strange... Country Bear Jamboree is closed and getting ready for their Holiday Show. The shooting Arcade is next There is a 30-minute rest in the shade for the adults and then we’re off to buy our obligatory supply of guns at the stand across the way. This time it’s 6 rifles and some shotguns. But I know this won’t be the only gun purchase for this trip. When we come back on Monday one of the boys will want another. It never fails. Now for something “educational” - the “Hall of Presidents”. Not as good as the “American Adventure” in Epcot, I think. But always a must in this family. Haunted Mansion, good as ever. Lunch at Crystal Palace where the boys didn’t want to go because of the characters. Well let me tell you that our PS was for 2pm, that this mother put her foot down and that in we went. Everyone there made a big To-Do about the birthday boys and those two started to enjoy all the attention. The waiter brought out Birthday cup cakes and a birthday cards signed by all the Pooh Characters for each of the boys. Now it was time to see Mickey’s PhilharMagic. What great fun that was! No one does 3D like Disney. Peter Pan, Pooh, Snow White. We never miss them. Something’s happening at Cindy’s Castle, wow, it’s a big show. What fun. We can’t stay for the whole thing cause the boys are getting “grossed out”. We are skipping Mickey’s Toontown and are now rushing to ride “Buzz Lightyear”. No line for this ride as well. Yeah, I scored a whole 2600 points. Pitiful! We must ride it again. Much better score this time. But still laughable so I won’t tell you what it is. The boys are still laughing. And now we are off to see “Stitch’s Great Escape”. That ride was disappointing. No need to talk about that. Enough has been written here in this forum and elsewhere and I think they need to close this ride down and do something worthwhile with the building. While the men are going on Space Mountain I sit back and enjoy people watching. We are on our way back to the hotel to enjoy the pool/pool bar for a while. More to follow as soon as I have time… Last edited by Dopey; 01-08-2008 at 01:17 PM. |

Re: Dopey's Great Adventure
Thank you all for the warm 'welcome back'.
We've had a fantastic time, filled with fun and more fun. Without your knowledge this would have been just another so - so going to the parks kind of trip. This, being stress free, turned out to be a relaxing vacation. JUST NOT LONG ENOUGH

Re: Dopey's Great Adventure
Thanks Stinkerbell (love that name)...
yes, Cinderbella, thank you. I love those two guys. They are such nice boys. Hope they stay that way. Taller than their dopey mother. And they think they are my protectors. Too funny to watch.
