Day 5


This is the day for MGM! No crowds! It is amazing. By far not my favorite park but there are some rides that need to be done. So, the men are off to ToT and RnRC. I am waiting at the Starring Rolls Café’. Oh yeah, a small pastry and some Cappuccino, delicious. We need to get to Star Tours cause I like that ride. Sitting in the back is the best experience.
Later strolling through some stores and leaving some more money behind….we are on our way to the resort.
The last days are much more laid back then the first ones and much less exciting. This is a vacation folks.
So late afternoon we are back on our way to the pool and another fashion show by the pool, after all I had bought a new bathing suit for each and every day of this trip. Later on in the evening we had PS for the restaurant at our resort the “Boatwright’s” . Very good. Later the boys had to go to the arcade again, because we hadn’t spent enough money there yet. While they were doing that we enjoyed the bar and that great entertainer there. He had the place jumping.


Day 6


This is the day we wanted to go to the Magic Kingdom one more time. DH and Tyler are off to MGM again; just to do the RnRC one more time. Marc and I are catching the opening ceremony at the Kingdom. That was fun. But the crowds are getting bigger and bigger. I can almost feel the people breathing down my neck. This is not for me. We finally get into the park and it is almost unbearable. So many people! We’re supposed to meet the other half of our group at noon and it is only 9:30. I am panicking. What are we going to do for 2 ½ hours. The lines were so long. I don’t know how people do that in the summer heat. You rush to the rides only to wait so long to get on. Well, we managed to get on Splash Mountain without much of a wait and then just walked around and shopped. Finally it was noon and we met the other 2 and decided to go to Epcot again. Mission:Space and the International Showcase. Yeah Kringla guess who’s coming… That salmon and scrambled egg sandwich was calling me. And there were still so many other things to look at, spend money for and to enjoy.
The boys want to take the boat to Downtown Disney that evening and go to Disney Quest again but I would like to add the Adventurer’s Club. I was outvoted. This one will have to wait until the next time.

To finally end this story…. We loved every minute of our trip. It slowed down tremendously at the end, which was just fine with us - after all this was supposed to be a vacation. We did relax and moved at our own pace. We didn’t miss much because of all of your knowledge and advice. I could have stayed a few more days, just because.
The CMs all around us were just fantastic. They were always concerned with our well being.

Even my Smithsonian husband enjoyed and wants to go back. There are so many things still to be done…

I was so happy to see the rest of this report when I signed on today. I was looking forward to seeing how it ended. Thanks for sharing your trip with us. I can't wait to see when you plan to go back.

You have gotten me so in the mood for my own vacation in 5 days! when did you go? I did not see any dates. It must be nice to be in an empty park! I have my fingers crossed but I have a gnawing feeling it is going to be crowded. WEll anyway, glad you had such agreat time! What a way to spend and 11th birthday!

Hi Dana and Lucy, Thanks to both of you. We had a great time.

Glad to be back to put my 2 cents worth into this forum. I thought that now that the trip is over I wouldn't visit anymore but it is just too adictive.

Sounds like a wonderful trip. I like that things slowed down a bit for you and you were able to relax. One of the things that I'm worried about is that I'll need a vacation after we come back. That's one of the reasons that were are going for 10 days but only doing 8 in parks...give a little time to enjoy our time.

I know what you mean about MK when it is crowded. It is very bad when MK gets crowded. I can't stand it!!!!!

Thanks Dana and Disneyguy, I have a feeling you won't get rid of me all too soon.

Stusbabydoll, we purposely booked the trip for these particular days because, should it have been a stressful vacation, we would still have some days to relax after coming home---the Thanksgiving Holiday School vacation followed our trip immediately.
I think it is a good idea to take some time off from the parks. Besides when you stay at a Disney property, you can come and go as you please, so the pressure of not missing a thing really isn't there.
