First Day-Animal Kingdom!!

Animal Kingdom was our first park. We went on Friday and it was cool and overcast the whole day. Perfect! We did not have to wait more than 10 minutes for anything(except having my granddaughter's face painted!) This was my first trip and I was captivated! The theme of the park is carefully interwoven into every aspect of it. The Tree of Life is worth the price of admission (well, almost). The safari ride was so exciting and DGD kept talking about the bad poachers all day. We say the river rapid ride for last and wore our ponchos. It had just finished a short shower so they fit right in. I loved the Lion King show as did DGD. Tarzan Rocks was also good but not like the LK show. I thought the part of the park where the Dinosaur ride was a little strange. The Dinosaur ride itself was great but very short. The other four days were just about as perfect....except for....well I will fill you in on each day! I can't wait to go back!

Glad you had such a good time. We like the AK alot, but have never spent more that half a day there. DH and I love Dinosaur! I cannot wait to take my little boy to play in the Boneyard! How did your DGD like it??

She loved all the play areas. I think she would have been content to stay in them all day! Her favorite was the "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" at MGM! I stayed with her over an hour there while the older "kids" did their thing.

Did you see any really little ones in the play areas. My boy will be almost two on our trip, and I was hoping that he could play in these areas to burn off some energy.

Yes, I did at the Boneyard but not at Honey....Shrunk the Kids. Just be sure to stay right with him and I think he will be fine. They are wonderful oaisis for little ones and tired, hot Moms! Be sure and ride the Triceratop Spin with him, my GD loved it as much as Space Mountain!

LRTJS~~did yall watch the parade at AK?
Just wondering if it's worth the wait or if we should take advantage of parade time to go do stuff?

Busymom5x,

We generally don't watch the parades - we're not 'parade' kind of people :) - but we stumbled across the AK parade on our last trip, and we loved it! It's very interactive.

I felt like the park was crowded, but we were able to grab a pretty good spot about 5 minutes before it started.

Bruce,
What "spot" or "spots" do you recommend for parade viewing?
Thanks! :)
