Day 3-The Magic Kingdom

As soon as we arrived in the parking lot I knew that Sunday might be a little different than the other two days! Here were the Disney crowds I remembered from my other 7 trips. My first stop was Town Hall for a big birthday button for DG. They handed her the phone and Mickey sang Happy Birthday to her, name and all.Next, we went to SM for a FP. I had DGD measured in her platform sandals to see if she was tall enough and she fit perfectly under the stand. The shoes worked! As we walked off I asked DS for my tickets back from FP. He didn't have them! We went back and they were gone. We trudged back to City Hall(man was it hot!) and they were fantastic! They gave us a replacement on our 4 day pass with one day left. Service with a smile:) Then we made our way back to Buzz Lightyear. The line was about 25 min. so we rode. It was so much fun. The colors and the spinning..we loved it. I especially loved the part that was left from "Wings" the tunnel that makes you feel as if you are revolving! It was FP time for SM and GD was in amusement park heaven. She loved all 3 of the mountains...the faster the better. We used FP on all 3 Mtns. She endured the HM but did not have any interest in going back! Everything in Fantasy Land was maxed out so we waited until late evening. We saw most of the parade and loved the character bubbles. We walked right on Pirates, and Tiki Birds. She had her picture made with villains, toured the two Mouse Houses and rode the Barnstormer (20 min line), We all ate reasonably at Pinnochio's Haus. Hamburgers with all the trimmings for 4 at about 20.00. Finally got on WP, Dumbo, SW and Peter Pan about 8 or 9 pm. We went back and took one more flight on SM and through Buzz again. The CM saw the birthday badge and let us go through Buzz 3 times without getting off. CM spoke to DG all day about the button. Her favorite was SM and Splash Mtn. and least favorite was the HM. We avoided AE. A magical day was had by all even in awful heat and a large crowd with FP and a spray fan we did it!:D

Did you sit by the window? We love eating here so we can sit by the window overlooking Small World!

Thanks for the post. We are looking forward to riding the Buzz ride.
My son, who is 5 cannot wait to see it.
He does not care about anything else.

Hope he likes it as much as y'all did.
Lisajl:)

LRTJS thanks for the trip report. Good tip on the platform sandals. We don't have any for my DD but will be going out to get some before our trip. She is about 1/4 in. from being tall enough for Splash Mtn. Last trip there (4 months ago) she wasn't even close to being tall enough for Big Thunder or Test Track but they let her slide in and it was so much fun. The checkers at Splash Mtn. were more strict. We tried several different days with no luck. I know it is for safety reasons but she wants to go sooo bad!

This post prob. doesn't belong here but just a tip on the Buzz ride.... if you hold the button down while you don't have any targets to "shoot" at it will continue to accumulate points - even when you go in the spinning room! Fun Fun! :dazed

Question re" Buzz
What is up with the points? Do you get something if you get the most points?
Thanks...

The points are just competition. At the end of the ride there is a chart that lists your rank... the more the points the higher your rank. It really makes it fun for the grown-ups. My DH and I ride in sep. vehicles and compete to see who gets most points. Fun!

We did not get to sit by the window while we ate, but I have before and it is the best place to sit! It was raining while we ate so the place was almost full.
Your son will love Buzz, it is so colorful and exciting. Also, the attention from the CM with DGD birthday really made her day. She got where if one didn't notice she would shyly point to it! I think it is great of Disney people to put forth this little extra effort.
