Re: I'm home, and here's my report...

Thanks for the compliments everyone ~ with 10 days, there's so much to tell! We just had a blast! I took notes along the way and kept a trip journal everynite. (It was my DC substitution)

Working on Day 4 now while listening to my wishes CD ~ I'll have it up soon.

Re: I'm home, and here's my report...

Here ya go Cinderbella ~ here's your fix, lol! It's a bit long ~ alot happended on day 4!

Day 4: Magic Kingdom II and the Pin Trap

Day 4 Pictures: http://www.jensfamily.com/disneyday4.html

Cast: Stu & Me
My children Nik, Valerie, Zoe & Matty
Nadia, Tommy, their daughter, Rio and Nadia’s Father, Matti (hereinafter “Pops”)

Where we went: Magic Kingdom, Cinderella’s Royal Table

Weather: high 70’s, windy and partly cloudy, light rain towards the evening

Breakfast: Cinderella’s Royal Table ($140.00)
Lunch: QSL in Adventure Land ($51)
Dinner: McDonalds ($16) Chinese food ($53)

What we discovered: CM’s go out of their way to make sure your stay is perfect

What we liked
: Surprisingly, Mickey’s Toon Town Fair

Favorite attraction: Mickey’s Philharmagic

Souvenirs we got: Stu surprised me with an “I’m with the Beast” t-shirt and Mickey stud earrings just before Wishes. The girls used their Disney $ for pin starter kits (Tinkerbelle for Zoe and Pooh for Val) Matty and Nick each picked out a pin. I built my Mr. Potato Head in Toon Town and had to get some Mickey crispy treats at the Main Street Confectionary.

As I was getting the girls ready, Tommy woke up and told us that Nadia was feeling very sick and asked if we could take Rio with us to CRT and they would meet us at MK later in the afternoon. We left the house around 8 am. A very unrushed trip to the TTC. Since it was early, our only option was to take the ferry over to MK ~ which the kids loved. I don’t remember ever riding the ferry ~ it was a nice trip. We reached MK just after 9am and took our time on Main Street; our PS wasn’t until 9:55. I mailed my postcards from City Hall (which I have found out have still not reached the people I sent them to over a week ago?!?) and the kids spent some time with the characters. MK seemed a bit more crowded this day than on Tuesday. Rio was wound up like a top! Stu had a hard time keeping a hold of her.

We checked in at CRT around 9:40 and the girls had time to visit with the Fairy Godmother. She was a great character and spent some time talking with the three of them. While we were waiting to be called, the girls had a chance to ring the chimes as the “royal” families were announced. We took the steps up to the dining area (which in my opinion is the only way a Princess should) and were instantly take back by the beauty and detail of the CRT. Our server was wonderful ~ Stu had his much needed coffee right away. The food was wonderful, especially the potatoes and that French toast blueberry thing. Stu and Val split a second plate. We were done eating for a while before any of Cinderella’s guests reached our table. The girls were so excited to see them, but as soon as it was our turn to be visited, they clamed up?!? So it was quick autographs and pictures and they were on their way. We saw Wendy (who was fun and did her best to include the boys) Belle (who loved the pink streaks in Nik’s hair ~ she made him blush!) Mary Poppins, who made me sit up straight, and Sleeping Beauty. Just before Cinderella’s arrival at our table, one of the servers passed the table and a stray container of ketchup flew from his tray; hit our table before bouncing to the floor. I saw the ketchup on the table, but before I could fully assess the situation, Cinderella was upon us (looking like she was trying to stay awake) posing for pictures. As I got up I realized my jeans were covered in ketchup, as was the strap of my backpack that was on the floor under the table. After the picture, I discovered that Val had ketchup splattered down her back, shorts, socks and sneakers. It was everywhere. I hurried to the bathroom to wash here off, noticing a small ketchup stain on Cindy’s dress (that’ll teach here to look so board!) and by the time we returned to the table laughing with Val about the ketchup, our server was holding a certificate for a shirt (up to $30) at any shop in WDW. She had asked Stu were we hurried off to ~ he explained what happened and she came right back with certificate. She even offered to take the ruined shirt and WDW would have it cleaned for Val. We declined this offer (as I am a laundry wiz) but thanked her for the certificate, left her an extra nice tip and hurried outside to Tinkerbelle’s Treasures to get a shirt for Val. She picked a cute blue Tinkerbelle one that not in a million lifetimes I would have paid $18 for. All in all, CRT was nice, but I was disappointed in not seeing Snow White, whom I hear frequents CRT.

After breakfast, we hung around Fantasy Land for a while, caught part of Cinderella’s Surprise Celebration and did Philharmagic. WOW! What a show! Afterwards, we did Peter Pan; still as good as it was when I was a kid. We walked over to Mickey’s Toon Town Fair, which I thought only Rio would enjoy, but we all did, very much. We had a great time walking through Minnie and Mickey’s houses then took the train over to Frontier Land and walked over to Adventure Land where we spotted Captain Hook and Mr. Smee. Now, Matty was wearing a shirt that said “Sister for Sale” and had gotten a lot of comments about it all morning. Well, Hook spotted his shirt as he was signing Matty’s book and offered his autograph for his sister. Matty pointed to Zoe, whom Hook dragged away from us. Mr. Smee played right along, offering to come with us in place of Zoe ~ it was a lot of fun. Peter and Wendy stopped by during our time with them, and an impromptu skit followed between the four of them. We spent a good 15 minutes with these characters before moving on to Pirates. The line as a bit long for Pirates, but since we had some time to kill before we met the rest of our group we waited instead of getting FP’s. My kid’s didn’t enjoy this ride as much as I had at their age. I guess there were expecting it to be more like the movie. Ah, they are children of a different age ~ they wanted more of a high tech ride.

We walked over to the Tiki Room where we met up with T & N (who had a miraculous recovery) and Pops. I enjoyed the new version of this attraction. Afterwards, on to the Jungle Cruise. Boy, did we luck out with our driver. He had us hysterical! We watched the parade ~Hook spotted our group, pointed to Zoe and gestured to her that he hadn’t forgotten her. Burgers and hotdogs at QSL afterwards then it was Splash Mountain time again, this time the whole group joined us. There was quite a line, but Pop’s in his wheelchair brought us straight on (this varied from attraction to attraction, sometimes we were lead right on to a ride, other times we were lead to the front, but had to wait) Poor Pop’s. Ever see Sanford and Son? When he’s talking to his dead wife, saying, “I’m coming…” Well, that was Pop’s after the first two drops. After the 3rd and final drop, he yelled at the people at the bottom, words I cannot repeat here. We got soaked, but it was humid, so it was welcomed!

We took the train back to Toon Town where we waited to see Minnie and her surprise guest (who was the same Belle from that morning at CRT) I built my Potato Head then we rushed to catch Philharmagic again and enjoyed it just as much the second time. It had started to rain a bit, so instead of heading to Main Street to see Spectromagic, the kids rode Cinderella’s Carousel again while Tommy and Stu ran to get their Turkey Legs ~ they couldn’t stand it any longer! Stu was nice enough to share a little with Val and me. Yumm ~ they were so good! In all my trips, I had never had one.

Afterwards, we shopped a bit on Main Street and waited for Wishes to start. I finally relented and aloud the girls to get pin starter kits (resistance if futile with these things, I even got hooked!) Nik had purchased a few throughout the trip, so I got him another one and a lanyard, and so he didn’t feel left out, Matty got his first pin (Buzz) and a lanyard. (Oh, I should have seen then what this innocent Pin buying would lead too!) The rain had stopped by then and it had gotten a bit cooler. Pop’s was waiting for us outside, and we just caught the tail end of his tirade on this poor innocent CM who was selling balloons. Evidently, Pop’s wanted to purchase 5 balloons as a surprise for the kids. When the CM told him the balloons were $6 a piece, Pop’s lost it. I felt so bad for the CM ~

Tinkerbelle did not fly from the castle that night, which disappointed the girls (I’m sure it had something to do with the rain and the wind) Main Street was mobbed after the show! It took us over an hour to get from the Ferry launch at MK to our car!

We stopped on the way home at Mickey D’s for burgers and all the kids fell in to bed not long after we got home. I had a few errands to run, and we had to pick up some Chinese food for the guys (which was the worst, most expensive Chinese food!) I watched the weather forecast that night and seeing that heavy rains were expected, we decided to really sleep in the next morning before heading to MGM. We stayed up late laughing with Pops and playing cards, and the guys had the first of their nightly Pac Man Tourneys as I went to bed.

YES! But, I saw that you were looking at the end of the month...
go at the beginning, you can get a cheaper resort rate, and it won't be as crowded!
