A Day in the Life of a Pixie - Gifts of a Lifetime

This event was for a couple named Danny and Gina for their 5th wedding anniversary. Danny filled out our Pre-Event Questionnaire and told the Pixies that Gina's favorite book to read was anything from the Chicken Soup for the Soul series. She would buy each title the day they went on sale. Our thought was to have Danny write a story for Gina about his love for her and their life together and then we would format it and have it bound in a book that was named "Chicken Soup the for Disney Lover's Soul." We had a printer and a book binder work together so that the book would really pass as a copy of a new title in the series and then we took the book off to the Magic Kingdom where we had arranged to meet with Danny. Since Gina's favorite way to spend the afternoon was shopping on Main Street we knew where to find them. Our pixie held the book in her arm while she pretended to look through the merchandise in the Emporium.

Danny's job was to point out the book to Gina when he saw me and ask her if she had that title already. Well, Gina was shocked when she saw it as she had never even heard of it. They were very close to the pixie, looking at the cover of the book and whispering. The Pixie turned to Gina and said "You seem interested in my book. Do you like the Chicken Soup books, too?"

Gina replied that she did and asked where the pixie bought the book. Our pixie replied "This book is only available here and I have the last copy but I would be happy to let you look through it. I suggest reading the first chapter story. It is the best one in there. (There was only one story in there. The rest of the book was blank because of another surprise . . . . ).

Gina opened the book and began reading the "first" story, entitled "All for the Love of Gina." She was into the third paragraph before she realized this wasn't just any story, this was the story of her life with Danny. She looked at Danny and started crying. She turned to the pixie and said "...and he always says I should stop reading these all the time!"

Our pixie waited until Gina was done reading the full story. Then she showed Gina that the rest of the pages were blank so that Gina and Danny could write more stories to each other later on. "But," the pixie said, "I need you to check the pages to make sure they are all blank." Gina started flipping through the book and that is when she noticed that there was a section that was all glued together. in the back half of the book we had taken out the middle of each page and hidden a 14Kt Minnie charm for Gina with a note from Danny that read "Happy 5th Anniversary."

Two months later we received an email from Danny announcing that he and Gina were expecting their first child and that she had conceived on the trip.

And because of this the Pixies created a new event "The Making of a Disney Baby," which we will tell you about another time.

From,
Jane and the Pixies

Wow, what a great story!

By the way, Jane is the owner of Gifts of a Lifetime, on of our sponsors here at DisneyCentral. I asked her to stop by and give us a new story about her experiences every couple of weeks. As you can tell, they get very inventive.

Thanks Jane, and welcome.

Good idea, Tinkerbell! That was such a sweet story (and it made me so teary), I am sure it would fit right in on Lifetime! I would love to see stories like these on a TV show, what a great way to get your Disney fix when you can't be a WDW!

Thanks for sharing such a great story, Jane, I look forward to more! :D

I am in the process of planning a trip with Jane right now. I am so excited and she has been wonderful to work with. Even though I have not met her, I highly recommend her.

Welcome to Disney Central, Camptraveler!!

We are glad to have you here! What kind of "gift" are you doing with Gifts of a Lifetime. I have always been interested in it...just never have done it!!

Does your name have anything to do with staying at Fort Wilderness?

When will you be heading to WDW? Have fun planning!!
