Re: Dana - the Trip report 1/05

Day 7

Our final day is always sad. I am always ready to go though. 7 days is plenty and I felt that we had a great trip. We got up early and were out of the room by 7:50. We had a PS at O'hanna for their character breakfast at 8am. We were seated immediately and were only the second family to arrive. Our server took us right over and Goofy followed. The server aksed Goofy if he was going to join us. Goofy nodded and sat down with us. We signed DD's autograph book and then proceeded to play with us. He had DD sit on his lap for a picuture and then motioned to me that he was in love with my DD.. My DD said that she was going to save his seat for him while he visited the other kids. He nodded and was off. Chip and Dale both tried to steal Goofy's seat and he came back and wrote "goofy's seat" on a napkin and placed it on the chair. Mickey made his way around and made his own note that said "mickey's seat" stealing Goofy's spot. They played back and forth like this the entire meal. We had a great time! The food was good too, but it could have been horrible and still would have had a great time. Goofy is now my DD's favorite because of this meal. After a perfect last day breakfast, we headed back to the room to pack up our remaining stuff and call the bag guy. They were there in a matter of minutes and we went to officially check out. I still had $19 left on my room account and let my DD get a few pins with it. We then went to check out for real. We went to the bus stop to wait for the bus for MGM where we always spend our last day. I must say that the buses here take forever. It's a shame to spend all that money and have poor bus service. The AKL's is much quicker. We went directly on RnR and went on twice in a row with no wait. We went over to ToT and noticed the 35 minute wait and decided to grab a fast pass for the end of the day. Fast pass window was ending at 12:25 and it was perfect for our schedule. We went on the backlot tour and loved it and then headed over to ABC for lunch. We ate quickly and got to the ToT at 12:23..lol We went right on and had a great drop sequence. We sat in the front row and found that to be pretty intense...excellent ride. After ToT, we made our way to the gates and said goodbye to MGM. We got back to the Polynesian a bit to early and took one last look around. We went out to get our bags and our driver was already there for our 2pm pick-up. So we left early at 1:45 and headed to the airport. We waited really long at the airport and next time I am going to request a later drop off if possbile. After checking in and all that we got on the plane at 4:15 for our 4:45 take-off. Everything was on schedule, but I already know that doesn't mean anything with this airline. We were seated and took off as scheduled, but had to cirlce the Philly airport for what felt like forever. We waited and and circled so much that I was ready to scream when I finally got off the plane. DD and I didn't eat dinner because we were going to grab one of those in flight snack boxes...well they had a limited amount this trip...limited meaning 5. they suck! Anyway, we got our bags after waiting for a half hour and were heading home. I was glad to be home, but not glad to be in this cold weather. My dog was so excited to see me that she was wagging her whole body instead of just her tail..lol After that she wouln't come near me....she's still pouting today. I called DBF to let him know I got home. He called me at the airport wanting to know if I had a ride home. That's all she wrote guys. Another trip of memories for me and DD. It was a great trip with little bumps, but nothing that would ruin it for us. I have several things I could comment on about other guests, but it's just not worth it. People are people....I ignored them and their rude behavior. I was determined to have a great trip and I did. I will have full reviews of the new restaurants I experienced in the review section later on. My pictures won't be up till next week, but I will get them on as soon as they are done. Thanks for reading.

Re: Dana - the Trip report 1/05

Overview -

Things I won't do again: I won't change resorts midway. I found this to be a pain for us. I like having the same place and staying there. WDW made it easy and it's not their fault. It just didn't work for us.

The Polynesian was beautiful....really beautiful, but I don't think it was worth the price tag. The AKL is better I think for the money that you pay.

Next trip, I will not make as many PS's. We ended up cancelling and rebooking most of them to accomidate our schedule of the day that kept changing while DBF and his DS were there. Next time, I will alternate breakfast and dinner PS and not having them on the same day.

Things that were great:
The character interaction at O'hanna
Watching DBF get bitten by the WDW bug. He declared it so relaxing and is definately up for another trip.
I enjoyed having time with both my DBF and DD seperately. WE had good quality time that isn't always possbile with my work schedule.
Wishes despite the stupid buy blocking my view
riding the monorail in the front seat
looking for alligators and actually finding a few
meeting new friends like Darth and his DW

Things that were not so great:
rude guests...enough said
the kids fighting....minor thing that was ignorable most of the time
DBF leaving

One minor gripe:
The bathrooms. I was in these bathrooms in the early hours of the day in each and every park. They were immacualte. I would stop back in these restrooms later on (i go a lot) and they would be trashed. People are discusting. Pee on the seats, clogged toilets....eww.

The CM's:
Each and every CM I encountered were excellent! Each and every one of them had Disney Attitudes all I never got sick of hearing "have a magical day" This makes the trip. The attractions are great, the rooms are great, but the CM's and their love for their jobs is what makes the trip magical. This ws such an improvement over some of the not-so-magical ones I experienced last January. It was so much easier to get over the little bumnps in the roads beacause of them.

That's a great trip report Dana! I looked for you while there but never saw another DC pin. However, I was spotted by Carliebug's husband and found another Disney fan as well. She couldn't get her sister to ride Mission Space so we invited her to ride with us. A lot of friendly people there this time!

aaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

DBF leaving 'wasn't so great'

Awwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was REALLY praying that this would work out for the 4 of you. (Besides the bickering amond children- which, happens all the time at our house - SO NORMAL!) it sounds like it really went well...
I'm glad DBF loved it as much as you wanted him to :c)

I was wondering if you would love the Poly as much as you seem to love the AKL...you have me sold on AKL, btw.

:c))))
Great trip, Dana, great trip!

I left the pin at home. Sorry all. It would have been cool to meet up. I ran into a girl I grew up with in MK and my DD's friend from school all by chance. Next trip perhaps.

Re: Dana - the Trip report 1/05

Dana Great trip report. I felt like i was there with you in WDW. I am so glad that the WDW bug bite DBF.

It's normal for the kids to fight. My two do it all the time. You know the knock down dragouts!! Then thirty minutes later my DD will be sitting in DS's lap brushing his hair. Kids, they are weird. I try to go with the flow as much as possible on trips. But every once in a while they step on that last nerve of mine and I end up yelling. And they are like we were just playing with each other Mom.

Hopefully it will not be the last time yall go on a trip like that together. Can't wait to see your pictures.
