Official Trip report - by WooHoo

Ill try to include some pics but Im not sure how to do it-
Friday we flew out at 8pm- My friend who did not want her kids to know until they got to the airport was upset because her daughter knew, my daughter overheard me making reservations and she told!! Both little girls (7) kept quiet that they knew until her daughter freaked with worry about who would take care of the dog on the way to dinner that night! What could I do? I had no idea. Flight was uneventfull- the kids sat with eachother and they were well behaved. When we landed we were picked up by Edio of Quicksilver and we were all very tired but excited none the less- we arrived at PC around 11:45 and there was a pretty long line to check in but otherwise it was non-eventfull. We had rooms 5419-5416 in the 60's - they were in the back corner of the building but they were together. We were given our itinerary at the desk and I was so tired I never really looked at it. Big Mistake! They were all screwed up! We had to wait for our pack and play to arrive before we could get the baby to bed but we all were in bed and asleep by 1am
We had ps for CRT at 9:30 so we had to get up early and out! It really was about an hour to get to our reservation so I was glad that I did the 1 hour rule for travel time. We barely got to the castle in time for our PS. The scaffolding was not too bad- just a big crane but you could not go through the garden or really take pictures from the front because of the walls that were up and the crane in the pic. we had to go all the way around to get to the restaraunt. When at breakfast (my personal favorite) we were sat at different tables so we stuck the men with the babies and us moms sat with the big kids. We were disappointed to hear that the menu had changed and that there were no more mickey heads. But I had 3 of my favorite danish so all was well. We had trouble with the wishes and the waitress complained that she would have to make seperate checks but I insisted to keep things straight. After breakfast we went and did all of the little kid rides- I like the new pooh ride! it was real cute and my favorite 3dshow philharmagic!! We did toon town and then tomorrowland. I went on the stitch ride- it broke down and we had to wait for 45 min in line for it to start again- we were right at the door so we just waited. When it was working again we went in- not much different from Alien but I do have to say that they really need to work on it. I love stitch but there was way too much dark blah. Most of the ride was in pitch black and random noise with one or two effects. But you get all excited for nothing- there really was no reason for the restraints or the hype. Rather disappointing. Well by the time we were done we watched the parade. How cute! DS who is one did not want to sit anymore so he was crying. The CM in charge of keeping our street clear took him for a walk around until the parade started. She kept giving him stickers and he was so happy. The parade was wonderful! Everyone came over to us and played with the baby-
We had to leave for the whoop dee doo after this- our show was at 5 and we needed an hour again to get there. When we went to get the tickets, again we were given a hard time with the wishes!! This time it was because the changeover costs 2 and we booked when it was still silver so it was only one wish. Then we had to look all over for our party to get all of the cards from them to subtract the wishes- it was all so confusing. But when we took our family pic we were all so excited for the show that it came out wonderfull. We sat down but were stuck in the back of the room (rather irritating since we booked it 6 months in advance and we were stuck here because of our party size of 10) As far as the show- all I have to say is LOVED IT! They asked where we were from as part of the show, The sangria was flowing, the food was awesome, the kids had a blast, our picture was great! All was good. I even had an anniversary dance with the DH!
We went back to MK for our special viewing for fireworks. We had missed the ELP but we made it just in time for the fireworks. The viewing location was nice but we had a few trees in the way for pictures- it was better than trying to fight the crowd. Fireworks were great and we all made our way home.

Sounds great so far!! I love your pictures. We had a little confusion with the wishes at times too but they always figured it out when I pushed the issue!

Keep it coming!!

What are "wishes?" Is that part of the Magical Gatherings?

Re: Official Trip report - by WooHoo

Day 2 EPCOT
We started the day with Auskershus Princess Storybook
It was a real nice place! The kids were not thrilled with the all in one pan thing but I thought that the food was good- We had a little bit of wait for our seats so in the mean time I took pics of my kids (my new avitar is one of them) When we saw the characters- they were cute with the little boys, They paid special attention to them (ok the big joke was that they were flirting with the dads since we stuck the babies with the dads again) My DS could not take his eyes off of Jasmines cleavage and it was so funny! Ill include that pic! We did the whole front half of the park for a while and then we let the kids play in the fountain. My DS 9 loves the fountains and its his favorite thing to do- now its all of the kids favorite! Then we were ready to go around the world! We started in Canada with a beer then to England for a beer and fish and chips. Next we hit france for a cappaccino and wine and some pastery (dont get the souffle! it was the most disgusting sluglike thing I have ever eaten!! ) We had saki in japan with sushi and chicken terriaki, japanese beer and in Morrocco we had a plate of couscous, hummus and some chicken stuff- I loved it but the kids didnt. We had morrocan coffee and wine and my DH had - a morroccan beer. Then we had in germany another beer and a pretzel (we were getting full) In the US we had a beer and in africa another beer ( are you getting our trend? We did share between 3 adults and it was only one at a time ) By the time we hit China I was really buzzed- we forgot to eat there and I asked 3 times where the bathroom was- what was so funny was that I have used that bathroom everytime I have been to Epcot and should have known where it was! But we did have another beer, and watched the show and did some shopping. Next it was Margarhita Cha Cha Cha! wait no it was Mexico. I never knew you could go into the pyramid and there was a ride! Here we ate again and forgot to get silverware so we made a big mess of ourselves and had a blast! We went to Norway and had a beer and then we went to do test track again and then to the fireworks- we forgot our viewing vouchers but had decent locations thanks to Pal Mickey. After the Fireworks we went back to the resort and passed out.

Day 3 SPA/MK
Started the morning with the sea salt body scrub! WOOHOO I loved it! It did hurt a little here and there but over all it was great. We followed up with a sauna and whirlpool!
Then I met the DH with the kids and we went to MK for a turkey leg. We went on a few more rides but the baby was sick and not himself so we did very few all in all. Then we got a call from home- my baby sister was in a car accident- pretty bad with her car totaled. She had been cut off and then bounced off that car into another- she was all alone since the rest of us were in WDW. She is ok but it was a very sharp reality check! Then I left a sick baby to go to Fultons for my anniversary dinner. The ride from MK to DD was almost 2 hours long because we had to go to a resort first and then to DD and we got off at the wrong DD stop. ARGH! Dinner was nice! The waiter gave us hints on maxing our wishes and they gave us a card for both my birthday and for my anniversary. We had a nice dinner but went back to the hotel to have a dip in the pool. What we did not realize was that the air temp was dropping so fast that by the time we got used to the water the air was 48 degrees and the lifeguards announced that due to the extreme cold they were leaving us. We had to wait for the rest of our party to arrive to help us with our towels on the other end of the deck! It was so cold that we played a dare game between eachother!! Once we warmed up again we went to bed.

Day 4 MGM
We started off with a grab and go breakfast and then to the RRR we rode it twice and my chicken of a daughter even did it. OK we did not tell her what it was- but we were there for the early entry and the line was so short that she did not know what she was getting into! Then the TT and some shows and autographs. Pretty basic day overall- my only outstanding moments were that it was freezing and I had to buy sweats for my kids and then our Fantasmic dinner package was PS for 3:30 because of our party size but when we checked in at 3:15 we asked if we could watch the parade while we waited. We were actually told no. The pager thing would not reach the street and we had to wait in the doorway listening to the parade. They had the audacity to seat us in an empty restraunt at 4:15 so we missed the entire parade for nothing. They left a blue piece of paper on our plate but never said what it was and we had no idea it was our ticket to the fireworks. We tried to do the Millionaire game but when it got out we had to run to the brown derby only to find out that we had to be completely across the park to some remote gate entrance!!! We barely made it to the fireworks. The seats were ok but they were very off center and not worth paying extra for. We were overall exhausted and disappointed with the way the whole thing came down. A very blah day over all.

OMG! Loving the TR so far! Can't wait to hear the rest!! I was ROFL at the pic of your DS staring at Jasmine's cleavage! Funny thing is, my DH couldn't stop staring at her cleavage last year either! I guess they learn young, huh?

Re: Official Trip report - by WooHoo

Day 5 AK/PH/Cirque/DQ
OK so by the title on this page you can tell that I overdid it!
We started with Donalds Restrauntasaurus- we were placed in the 50's diner like spot with one other large party- the characters started with our room before we even ate and they were rushed through to the rest of the rooms- we actually had to go after Donald to come back for a picture with my brothers family since he left after my family pic. The waitress was real nice until we asked to break down the wishes - again we had trouble and it was so confusing that I got into a fight with my sister (she was worried that we would not be able to get our cirque tickets after this) I ended up throwing my room key and walking out! It was getting this bad with the waitstaff and wishes!!! We then went and rode a few rides, things were getting better- we even rode the rapids twice in a row with a family that lives in the town we used to live in. There were no lines and only a little sprinkle type rain. The only show we missed was Lion King because they only offered 2 and I missed it. We then went to PH for dinner- another wish mess! I sent my sister to Cirque halfway through dinner to get our tickets because I was worried about the wish thing. Not to mention that dinner was taking much longer than I planned. But the waiter (whom my DH had asked to have a candle in my dessert for my birthday since it was the last day of my WDW part) showed up with dessert for me while the rest of the party (split into 2 tables yet again) was either in the bathroom or at Cirque without a candle and when My DH said something he dropped off a candle without it lit with no singing- can you imagine how insignifigant I felt when right after this someone else had the whole waitstaff sang to anohter table. I had trouble again with the check and so I sent the rest of the party off to Cirque so I could handle it. It took 30 min to resolve it and we ended up digging through receipts and calling the resort to resolve this mess. I ran from PH to Cirque and showed up just as they were starting- my DD was fighting with her brother and the baby played musical adults until he fell asleep which by this point was joining his sister in sleepland- so 2 out of my 3 kids slept through the circus. I did love the show and our seats were great. It was nice to enjoy something at this point. We then went to DQ and the kids had a blast- I went on one of the VR rides with the goggles and got motion sick so I left them with my brother and sister and then I walked to the monster disney store for my last min souveniers. Then to home where I crashed and packed for the trip to the boat the next day. After all we were checking out at 11 and if I had the packing done before I left then I could sleep in on my birthday.

Re: Official Trip report - by WooHoo

Your kids are addorable. It looks like they had a wonderful time from the pictures. I am sorry to hear that parts of your trip were not so good, but it sounds like you had some wonderful moments in there too. I am looking forward to your report about the cruise. We have talked about taking the cruise several times, but I am one of those people that has to be doing soemthing all the time. I am afraid that a cruise would be way too much relaxing for me--I am worried I would be bored. (I actually enjoy being a commando in the parks. The pace is just fine for me.)

Re: Official Trip report - by WooHoo

ok Now to the boat!
Wait - before I get there we were woken at 8am by the housekeeper that did not clean the coffee sheets to clean our room- and my sister was woken by the front desk to accuse her of not checking in the night before- both really pissed me off so much that I finally started to complain. This was my birthday after all and it was already starting on a sour note.

Once we checked out and got a refund for our room from the night before we were taken to the boat by Edio again. Have I mentioned that I loved Quicksilver??? He even told off a limo that thought he should be close to the entrance where we were dropped off. GO EDIO!
What can I say- I cried as I was walking to the boat! I just love it!!! I had some trouble trying to fill out all of the forms but I didnt care I just love the boat! We signed the kids up for the yellow people and we went onboard and started with the bahama mama's and buffet. We went to our room and my brother had it decorated for my birthday with cool things haning from the ceiling and a cake. Because it was our second cruise we had lovely towels waiting for us and pins. The mandatory drill was so funny- the baby was so cute in his suit! and I could barely hold him never the less kiss him! (picture included) We went on deck to celebrate leaving and that was where we found out that we had dinner at tritons and not animators palate like my brother thought!!!! It was run down to our room and power dress for a fancy night out- We barely made it on time to dinner and then the boat started to rock- some birthday! By the end of dinner I was pretty much alone because the kids left to go to the yellow people and my friends and sister in law went to bed seasick so I was all alone. We loved the shows and we explored the ship a bit. I got the kids to bed for a big day in Nassau. The next morning we woke up and my DH was sick. He decided to stay in bed so ended dropping the kids at the yellow people and taking the baby into Nassau for a dip in the "blue water". We did some shopping and drank a Froggy Margharitta at Senor Frogs. We went for a stroll in the Straw Market and just had a great time (just the baby and my sister and myself). When I got back on the boat my DH was up and about so we went to the Goofy Margaritta party on Deck 9 for buy one get one free. Then to dinner- it was great food and everyone was there so we had my cake. After this we went to the show and some shopping. We dropped the kids off again and went out to the club for Match your mate! We WON!!! I was pretty loopy at this point but it was a blast!! We then had kareoke and I sang two songs- what fun!
The next morning was rough- I was so hung over!!! I could feel the boat rocking and it wasnt! After breakfast I went and laid down for an hour. When I got out of my coma I found out that my brother had the Cruise flu thing and they quarantined him and my nephew to the room! My sister in law was in tears and it was so sad! We decided to take her baby with us and then we went to Castaway Cay. There was no rush! It was so windy and cloudy that they cancelled all excursions and when we went to serenity bay (the adult side of the island) the wind was so strong that it was blowing sand in our eyes. Well we went back to the kids beach and I just chilled with my friend from college and the kids dipped their toes in the water. When we got back on the boat we had to be packing again. Our bags had to be out by 11pm. So I packed a bunch and then went to the special reception for return cruisers- I talked my sister in law into joining us so she did with the kids. We then went to dinner and were missing my brother and some of the kids to the yellow people. So it was a quiet meal. We then went to the last show and back to finish packing. We tried to have one more night out but the weather was rainy and windy and the bars were all younger people. One played such slow music that it was so sad. I was so bummed that we had to leave so early (6:45 am breakfast) That we ended up picking up the kids and just going to bed by midnight. The Next day was soooooo sad! Both my daughter and I were crying- I couldnt believe that all of it was over! Nobody but my little gang showed for breakfast. Edio picked us up as promised and we had a very somber trip to the airport. Nobody was sick anymore and the weather was clearing up to sun. We got home around 4pm.

Stitch is both my sons favorite. They were both so excited to see them and were bummed that he did nothing chaotic as they had hoped!

Hopefully they will work the kinks out of the new dining system soon - it sounds like it was a bit frustrating! Glad you had a great trip otherwise!

Ok - the baby looking at Jasmine's cleavage absolutely made my day! Maybe he was remembering the good old days. lol. Thanks for such a great report. I'm sorry you had such a bad time with the "wishes" - I think this is something that I will avoid. Sorry the weather wasn't great for the cruise, but glad that the margaritas perked you up!
