Disneymom's first ever trip report!
This is my first trip report so please bear with me!
Monday January 31 We woke up around 6:00 to six inches of snow. I am not sure if I was not paying attention to the weather report or not but we weren’t expecting this at all. My husband went outside around 7:00am to snow blow our driveway. Meanwhile, I was inside frantically trying to finish packing for the trip. I received a call from my mother that she had received 10 inches of snow and would not be able to take us to the airport. I called my father in law and thankfully he volunteered to take us to the airport. We arrived about two hours early for our flight on Frontier airlines. Everything went well and we arrived on time in Orlando around 5:30 pm. We rented our car from Dollar and drove straight to the Wilderness Lodge. I asked at check in if we had a view of Magic Kingdom and the person at the desk stated that we did. We went into room 5064 and unpacked. We did not have a refrigerator in our room so I called the front desk. She stated that the refrigerators were free of charge but they were running out of them and they did not know if they had one available. Luckily they found one for us and brought one to our room. We drove to downtown Disney where we ate at Earl of Sandwich. Thanks to DC for recommending this place because we loved it! I processed my AP and we did a little shopping before heading back to the hotel. We went right to bed but had the most unpleasant night we have ever had in a hotel room in our lives! Our room happened to be over a service entrance and we heard the noises of trucks all night long! Every time a truck would back up, the trucks would beep like crazy and it sounded like an alarm clock was going off. This went on all night long! I felt like we were staying at a truck stop! Finally around 4:00am I asked if my husband was sleeping and he stated that he had not slept all night either. He went to the front desk to complain and ask for a room change and the person at the desk was very nice and found us another room. She also comped us the room for Monday night. We packed up and moved to our new room. This room also did not have a refrigerator so we called mouse keeping and we had someone carry the fridge from our old room to our new room. My husband told me later in the day that the person at the desk stated to him that she couldn’t believe they put people in this room, as there were always complaints. Mouse keeping stated the same thing to my husband. This really made me mad because they knew we were in a bad room but they gave it to us anyway! The hotel was not full and they could have put us in a better location!Tuesday February 1 We were done unpacking around 6:00 and my husband and I decided we might as well start getting ready for the day as we had 8:05 seating for CRT. We left for the MK at 7:15 and took the boat over to the Contemporary and walked from there. We had a great time at breakfast and then were the first in line for Space Mountain. We then rode Buzz, Pooh, Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder, Splash, Pirates, Snow White, and then saw Mickey’s Philharmagic. There were no lines and it was great. It was about noon and we were exhausted and we went back to the hotel to take a nap and swim. We headed back for the 3:00 parade and then ate dinner at CP. We stayed for the fireworks and then headed over to Epcot for Illuminations and then to ride a few rides. We did Mission Space first and then test track. Can you believe the ride broke down right after we passed under the speed sign? We waited for about 10 minutes for someone to let us out and we walked around the track until we found some stairs. We decided this was a sign and we should just go back to the hotel and get some sleep! I will try to write more later!

Re: Disneymom's first ever trip report!
I am sorry that the WL screwed up on your first room, but am glad that they comped you and moved you to a better location. Perhaps the person assigning was new...it happens. TT broke down while I was there too....very annoying. The kids never did get to go on. I can't wait to hear the rest.

Re: Disneymom's first ever trip report!
Wednesday February 2
We decided to spend the day at AK. We arrived about 15 minutes early and went right into the park. We did the safari ride, Lion King, Pocahontas, and Kali (twice). We decided to stop for lunch and ate at Flame Tree. This was our first time eating there and the food was great! We then did Tarzan, Dinosaur, Triceratops Spin, and then let the kids play in the bone yard. We decided to do the bird show next which we really loved. We had about 1-½ hours until the parade so we shopped and then got a great spot for the parade. This was our first time seeing this parade and we loved it. The interaction with the kids was great. They kept waving and pointing to my kids and then Chip came and sat down in between them. It was definitely a must see! We left the park around 4:30 and headed back to the hotel for a sandwich in our room and then headed over to MGM. By this time it was raining hard. The park was empty so we rode RnR twice with no wait and then we went to get a seat for Fantasmic. Unfortunately it was raining so hard that they cancelled the show and gave us an abbreviated version of it, which was still great. We headed back to the hotel to go to sleep, as we were still not recovered from Monday night of no sleep.Thursday February 3 We decided to sleep in and make this day a non-park day as my husband was exhausted and had not recovered from the first night. We woke up around 8:30 and then headed over to the campground to check it out. At 11:30 we went to Disney Quest. We spent about 3 hours there and then headed over to do a tour of DVC at Saratoga Springs Resort. Unfortunately, I don’t think I will talk my husband into buying this. After that we did dinner at Whispering Canyon and then went back to Downtown Disney. My husband and the kids went back to DQ and I went shopping. We got back to the hotel around 10:00 and went to bed as we were going to have a monster of a day tomorrow. Friday February 4 We woke up early to very cold weather! I dressed us all up in layers and we headed out on the boat to MK. NOTE: when it is very cold out, the boat ride is freezing. The ride was choppy and water kept splashing on us. Good thing it is a short ride. We did early entry at MK and rode and saw everything in the park except Toontown. We headed over to Epcot around noon and did Mission, Test Track, Living Seas, Figment, Canada, and then UK. Our kids talked us into going over to Beaches and Cream to have the Kitchen Sink. We were so stuffed and could hardly move after it but it felt good to walk around the rest of the countries. Another NOTE: We had never really walked around the countries because of the kids but we visited the Kidcot stations at all of the countries and the kids really couldn’t wait to see the next country. It made it much more enjoyable. We had a 7:30 PS for Rose and Crown and they seated us immediately. They gave us a seat indoors, which was fine with us as it was still very cold outside. They told us we could move to the patio when Illuminations started. My husband ordered the fish and chips and I ordered the steak and prawns. My husband really like his meal and mine was fine but the steaks in Canada were much better. We paid for our bill about 8:55 and got front row seats for the show. The timing was great. The show was amazing and I got tears in my eyes when it was done, as I knew it was the last time I would see it this trip. Saturday February 5 We got up early to pack, as we had to leave today. We headed over to MGM and got into the park around 8:45. We did RnR, Tower, Great Movie Ride, Backlot, Star Tours, Millionaire, Muppets, Beauty and the Beast. Then we shopped until it was time for the parade. We weren’t thrilled about this parade. There was no interaction with the kids at all. We also had to leave after the parade and that may have had something to do with us not liking it. We headed to the airport and forgot to fill up the car with gas. Big Mistake! They charged us $4.99 per gallon to fill up the tank. Oh well, live and learn. Our flight ended up being 15 minutes early and we had no problems. Best Thing about our trip: There were almost no crowds. It was great.Worst Thing about our trip. Not getting sleep the first might really affected us all and especially my husband. We were zombies for the first two days. I can’t wait for our next trip though!

Your first report was great! Thanks for it. Too bad about your first night at WL - at least it was rectified in a hurry. So glad that you had a good time!

Re: Disneymom's first ever trip report!
I really enjoyed reading your TR. It sounds like you had a great trip. I am glad that WL did the right thing and comped that night. If they know that room is a problem, then they shouldn't give it out especially if they are not even full. At least the rest of your trip was great!
