Steph's Trip Report, Part Two
Here is the rest of the account of my trip to Walt Disney World!
DAY FOUR On Tuesday, 9/10, Dan and I went to Disney-MGM Studios for the day. I didn't know what to expect, and although it was a bit smaller than Magic Kingdom and Epcot, my two favorite rides were there" Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror! The "thrillingest" thrill rides at WDW, in my opinion. :-) We went to these rides first, just in case there were going to be long lines, but once again there was hardly any waiting. Too bad Tower of Terror isn't very terrifying at 9:00 in the morning! This day was nice, too, because we didn't have to do nearly as much walking as we had been doing the past few days, and I got to see more shows, while at the other parks I was most concerned with getting to try out all the rides. We played "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire," and Dan came in third place the first time but unfortunately, that doesn't get you into the hot seat. But it was neat, because the two people who did get to compete (meaning they got more answers right, faster, than the rest of the audience) were 15 and 8 years old! We also saw the Muppet Movie 3D (I love those things!) and the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular, both of which were very entertaining. At the stunt show, the funniest part was the choosing of audience members to participate as extras. The day at MGM was very relaxing, I got to do more shopping than I had time for up until then, and we had an early dinner at Hollywood and Vine. (Once again, they had strawberry shortcake, and I had two pieces! But hey, what is vacation if not a chance to indulge?) That night, we got in line at about 7:00 to see Fantasmic, even though they only suggest getting there an hour before (it started at 8:30), but I already saw people lining up so I didn't want to take any chances. Well, we stood in line until 8:00, at which point they announced that the show was cancelled that evening. I was disappointed, but rather than get too upset about it, Dan and I rode both the Tower of Terror and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster one more time. :D After leaving MGM at closing time, we took a bus over to Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island. (We had the Ultimate Park Hopper Pass, so we could go as part of our plan.) What a party! It was pretty crowded that night, so it must be crazy during the summer and on weekends. First stop was the Comedy Warehouse, where we got a couple of drinks and enjoyed the show. The improv group was very funny, especially one woman whose name, I think, is Mary. Then we went to Adventurer's Club, and there was a comedy show in the Library area of the building that was also pretty funny. Dan and I were too tired to go to any dance clubs, so after the two shows we walked around a little longer, then went back to the hotel. DAY FIVE Wednesday, 9/11 was our last day of vacation. I got up early to watch the news, and as everyone knows, it was a sad anniversary. It was even cloudy the whole day, although it had been sunny every other day we were in Florida (even the day it rained), so we weren't as upbeat as we had been. After sleeping in (relative to the rest of the week), we went to Typhoon Lagoon, mainly because Dan wanted to go. It was a fun park, but I think it would have been more fun if it wasn't so cloudy and even a little cold. I did like the Kowabunga slide, which you slide down at speeds up to 30 mph. It felt so fast, I can't imagine the one at Blizzard Beach that gets up to 60 mph! I think I'd have a heart attack. At noon, they played President Bush's speech over the loudspeaker, followed by a moment of silence in memory of those lost on Sept. 11th. Following that, we spent a half hour or so in the wave pool, then went back to the hotel for a nap. It was our last night to eat dinner in WDW, so with Epcot being so close, and Le Cellier being recommended so highly on this website, I wanted to go there for dinner. Talk about some good steak! I got the Prime Rib and Dan got the Filet Mignon, and they were both SO good. The only complaint I could think of is that the steak was way too big for me to finish! It's definitely a great place to go if you're starving, and I'd also highly recommend the cheese soup. Our server said that is the only thing on the menu that has survived since the restaurant opened, and we could see why. After dinner, we went straight back to MGM to get there in time for Fantasmic, which was thankfully not cancelled that evening. While we showed up an hour early (which did give us great seats), the parks were so uncrowded that the auditorium didn't even fill up entirely. The show was possibly one of my favorites, and certainly the one where I took the most pictures. :o I especially loved the fire-breathing dragon. How do they make all these special effects? After Fantasmic, we headed back to Downtown Disney to spend our last evening at WDW. This time, we got there early enough to visit Disney Quest. We played a virtual reality Aladdin game, the Pirates of the Caribbeans game, and then designed and rode our own roller coaster. Unfortunately, this ride nearly made Dan sick, so we had to take it easy for the rest of the evening. But we did get to see the Comedy Warehouse again, and since the content of the show is determined by the audience, the show is different every night. It was actually even funnier the second night. Then we went back to the hotel, since it was already after midnight, we still had to pack, and our Mears shuttle was coming to pick us up at 8:00 the next morning. SUMMARY It was very sad to have to leave WDW because I had so much fun. It's so easy to forget about everything else going on in your life, and just lose yourself in the parks and in the whole Disney atmosphere. The cast members were all super-friendly, everyone was very helpful whenever we were lost or needed information, every place we ate had great food...overall, it was a wonderful experience and I can't wait to go back. I wish I could go back tomorrow!

Welcome home!!! Glad to see you had such a great time on your very first visit. The trip report was great. And don't worry, next time you go there will still be so much to do, because you just can't fit everything into one vacation.:)
