What a great report! I loved the fact that you took it so easy, going at your own pace - I think it's so much more enjoyable like this.

Your Sonic story is so funny. It reminds me of the time my elderly aunt had her first trip to McDonald's. I asked her how she liked it and she said - "well, it was fine, but the service was so slow. We finally had to go to the counter and order ourselves." LOL!

Just curious, was Peter Pan a little flaky? When we met Peter and Wendy at MK we thought he was "too flaky". We understand the cm is suppose to play into the character...but in our opinion, we did not think Peter was as flaky as this guy was portraying him to be. Maybe his tights were on too tight..lol

Monday April 18

We decided to go back to MGM to finish up the things we didn’t get a chance to do.

We did Playhouse Disney and I was amazed that Bailey remembered the bubbles at the end. As the show was seeming to end, she turned to me and said, “They forgot to do the bubbles” I had no idea what she was talking about, but sure enough the bubbles started raining down on us. We haven’t been to Playhouse Disney in 3 years – and she was only 3 at the time.

Rockin’ Roller Coaster!!!!!! Bailey was too short and Devon wasn’t interested, but I had to do it – after all, it’s my vacation too right? I ended up riding with a Dad, and his younger kids were behind us – it was there 3rd time on it that day! It was as intense as I remembered it – I loved it, but I also thought Devon made a good choice not to go on. When I was done, I told DH he HAD to go on, but he didn’t want to. He agrees with me that it’s just not as much fun doing rides alone, and didn’t want to bother.

Sounds Dangerous – This time DH went with Bailey – Devon isn’t trusting any of these indoor rides. And because she can read, she sees the sign that said ‘part of this ride is in total darkness’ and wants nothing to do with it. Bailey is now playing the brave little sister, so she is going on everything and will not admit if she doesn’t like it (until later in the week).

That was everything we wanted to do in MGM so were planning on going back to MK to finish up fantasyland. We had a small detour first – maybe I should say a big detour – I call it the “CAN YOU ACTUALLY GAIN 7 POUNDS IN ONE DAY DETOUR?”

Here’s how it happened….

Bailey has wanted popcorn for DAYS and we just never got around to getting any. So, we finally get her popcorn. Devon wants ice cream and so do DH and I. We walk over to Gerties and it’s not open yet. I figure we’ll find a place on the way out and we could eat on our way to MK. Nope – no place on the way out. By the time we looked at a map, we would have had to backtrack too far and none of us wanted to.

I promised Devon we would get her ice cream as soon as we got to MK – she’s pretty easy about stuff like that, so off we go.

In the car, I told DH about the Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream, and we decided to do it for lunch!!!! We find the Beach Club (is that right?) and get to the soda shop. A family is in a booth finishing up their kitchen sink. I pointed it out to the kids and DH and I told the family that we were getting the same thing for lunch. There were 6 of them eating it and I think they struggled to finish it.

We order it, and when it came out, they dimmed the lights and made an announcement – it was so funny! For those of you that don’t know – the kitchen sink is a sundae made with every ice cream they have and every topping. When I read every topping, I assumed it meant every wet topping like strawberries and hot fudge – NOOOOOOOOO – it had oreo’s, milky way bars, cake, brownies, fudge, peanut butter, - I cannot even remember what else.

We all dig in – I’ll post pictures – they’re great!!!! We didn’t finish the whole thing, but we ate enough to be embarrassed about it! Here we are with 2 little kids that don’t really overeat – they still have the sense to stop when they are full. So DH and I did most of the damage. OINK OINK OINK.

While we were attacking the sundae, 2 guys came in and sat right next to us, and they ordered the same thing! We weren’t there to see them finish, so I have no idea how much they ate – I hope that they ate more than we did – it’ll make me feel a little less piggish!!!

After that, we decided to go back to the condo for a break and a swim. Yeah – I really want to be seen in a bathing suit after eat 7 pounds of ice cream, but whatever.

For dinner that night, we are all craving REAL food – maybe a plate of broccoli will offset the ice cream???? We ended up at Pizzeria Uno’s – the girls got weighed and we paid a penny a pound for them!!! What a concept!!! Their meals cost 46 cents and 64 cents – what a deal!!!! If we went before the ice cream lunch, I bet we could have save a few pennies!!!!

After dinner, we went to MK. It’s open late tonight – till midnight – woohooo!!!!! When we walked in, people were staking out their spot for spectromagic. Right next to the place where the parade comes out, some CM’s set up a big blow up basketball net with a huge basketball. The girls played b-ball for while – then we headed to fantasylant. The place was MOBBED. We did Mickey’s Philharmagic for the second time – this might be their favorite attraction now.

We were planning on getting more stuff done in fantasyland, but it was way too crowded. We did Small World and then left fantasyland and went over to Adventureland. We never got to Thunder Mountain – the parade was going on and we decided to stop and watch. We found a wall for the girls to stand on so they could see, but it wasn’t as good as when we really staked out a spot ahead of time.

After that, we stayed for wishes. Not a prime spot, but we were able to see Tink fly (because I knew to look for her). Wishes was great – it just gave me the chills! Do you think ‘bad guys’ could be reformed by a trip to WDW???? Between Wishes and Illuminations, it just makes me feel like the world could be sooooo good.

We pushed our luck keeping the girls out so late. I took turns giving them piggy back rides, and we left at the same time as most of the guests. The park was staying open for another 1 ½ hours – I’m sure it was pretty empty since everyone seemed to be leaving.

We managed to get the girls back to the condo and to bed with only 1 meltdown – I would give it a 7 on the meltdown scale. We lucked out – we should have gotten 2 meltdowns rated at a 10 at least!!!

We are keeping score of meltdowns – Mom and Dad included!

Tomorrow – the dreaded timeshare presentation…

Love your report! We leave tomorrow and I can hardly wait! Where is the Pizzeria Uno's that you went to? We used to live near one and really liked them.

What an awesome day!! We chickened out of the kitchen sink last summer--not this trip! We are getting it and giving it our best shot. You guys look like you put a pretty good dent in it. I have to ask--how were all the toppings and ice cream flavors mixed together? I just don't like some of the flavors-like coffee and then to have peanut butter mixed in makes it sound gross.

OMG - that is priceless!!!!

There is a local little restaurant/pub that only serves 4 types of sandwiches, and they don't have menu's. All the locals know that that's all they have. The first time I went with DH, he didn't know, and asked for lettuce on his sandwich. GASP - you get one of the 4 sandwiches - the way they come - you don't EVER request anything!!! And the waitresses are known to be rude, so I always feel bad for the new people who just don't know the drill.

I cannot believe that we go there, but the sandwiches are SOOOOO GOOD!!!!

I didn't think this Peter Pan was flaky - he reminded me of a little kid - kind of playfull. Isn't he supposed to be the one who never grew up? I'm rusty on some of my disney classics. Shhhh - don't tell anyone.
