A Day in the Life of a Pixie
This month's story was written by our client so it is from the perspective of the client. I hope you like it!
Jane & the Pixies strike for our 15th Wedding anniversary!! Knowing that Sept. 14th was our 15th wedding anniversary (actually together 20 years.) I began to save for an extra special gift for the wife right after Jan. 1st. When realizing that we would be spending our anniversary in WDW I immediately knew that I had to incorporate the gift with something special & magical while at Disney. Shortly after making the ressie's I learned of Gifts of a Lifetime). Approx. 4-5 months ago I contacted Jane...after much discussion & exchanging of faxes (covertly of course) we agreed upon an "event". Months prior to our vacation, I had compiled a package of "memories" from our personal possessions, you see the wife & I are childhood sweethearts & have been together since she was 14 & I was 17, so there was a lot to choose from. I included pictures from our 1st date thru our proms, wedding, receipts from our honeymoon & anniversaries, children being born, pets, anything that was appropriate to tell the brief story of 15 years of marriage... I mailed the package to Jane, who in turn assembled it in an absolutely beautiful album... The gift I had chosen was a custom created Irish Claddagh necklace, consisting of a 20" 14kt Omega chain & the Claddagh pendant contained nearly 12grms of Gold, close to a 1CT heart cut Emerald surrounded by 26 diamonds. This was also shipped to Jane (and we she nervous about getting it!). Now no anniversary is complete without dinner, so after reading about the Grand Floridian arranging private dining I contacted them to arrange the ultimate dinner for us, I had made the majority of the actual dinner preparations, however after getting caught by the wife on the phone on more than one occasion with the CM's at the GF, Jane was kind enough to step in & mediate from Florida for me so as to avoid any further chances of spoiling the event. The morning of the 14th we exchanged anniversary cards to each other, when mine contained a poem indicating that I had "plans" (dinner) for us, she started to suspect that something was up...I simply played this off (and lied!!!!!). At 5pm we dropped the kids off at the Neverland Club (at the Poly), upon exiting the club, the wife was "met" by Jane who wished her a happy anniversary and "handed" her the memory album wrapped beautifully! When the wife went to take the album...Jane took it back & told her she had to "earn" the gift...TEE HEE!! (LET THE GAMES BEGIN!) The wife was then handed a card with instructions of which she had to follow to the letter...upon completion of each instruction there would be another...Jane & the Pixies had us chasing ourselves from the Poly to the MK, then to the Lobby of the GF. (I had no idea at this point what was happening; Jane would not tell me so our instructions were as much a surprise to me as the wife). The final instruction led her out onto the beach at the GF where the most awesome, authentic, huge pirate treasure box was buried...inside was hidden the box containing her Claddagh necklace. After receiving the necklace, the wife & I, accompanied by Jane & the Pixie crew went back into the lobby of the GF where she had "earned" her present (the memory album)& was allowed to open it & sift back thru the years. Needless to say that we both shed a few tears at this time. When this had completed (now approx. 7:15pm)Jane led us to a small alcove along the marina at the GF with a direct view of Cinderella's Castle...set up there was a single table with roses, wine, music, candles, a butler & the Mgr. of the GF Food Services welcoming us to our Private Dining experience. We dined on seafood appetizer, warm spinach salad with a bacon vinaigrette dressing, rack of lamb & then for dessert, raspberry coulis. Kenny G softly played in the background while we were served this most awesome meal...just the two of us... ther than there not being any fireworks, the entire evening was absolutely magical...I did not want it to end...it was such enjoyment in planning this event, and much like Cinderella, all came to a close at midnight too quickly. A little plug here for Jane & the crew...I would not have been able to do any of this without her & her assistants... I cannot begin to thank her enough. Her attention to detail is phenomenal, and seems as though she has solutions for everything...even when things were not going as planned over the 5 months of planning (& there were plenty of them), Jane was reassuring & made me feel at ease... At no time did I have any reservations or hesitations on the completion of this event...her organization is truly a remarkable operation. Should anyone have thoughts of a special gift for that certain someone...please give Jane a bump, I promise you will not be disappointed! A word from Jane: There is one area where you may be disappointed. Dates often book up in advance, especially during the holiday periods. This December is incredibly booked already. Also, Pixies do not work on Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Mother's Day or Father's Day. COMING NEXT TIME: Christmas Eve Pixie Stories

Jane, thanks so much for that story. By the way, if you are planning a trip to WDW, Jane accepts applications for "Pixies", and you can be part of a special surprise for someone. Who knows, maybe you will get to sneak out onto the Grand Floridian beach and bury a treasure chest.
You can contact Jane at Gifts of a Lifetime.

Me Trish... *sniff*
I did what Mickey suggested and am going as a Pixie in December. I'm so excited about it, I can't wait. I went to her site to see what she could do for my kids for December, got so excited about hearing other people's wishes, that I signed up to help. What a sap. :p
