Donna's Trip report - Days 1 and 2
Sorry it took so long, trying to get back to reality is tough...:dazed So here goes, I hope I remember everything. This is my first report so please bear with me.
Monday Oct. 7th Wake up at 3:30 am to get to airport by 5 for 7 am flight. Nervous because this is first flight for DS's who are 5 and 2 and a half. Security check is fine, of course my mother gets pulled out of line. Flight leaves on time and boys actually behaved for the whole flight. Get to baggage and Tiffany Town Car guy is not there, figured he was running late and hoped he would be there by time we got luggage. Our driver finally arrives after we have luggage all situated and we go out to the horrendous heat of Orlando. Stop at Publix and get juice, soda, snacks, beer, wine and wine coolers. Love being able to buy alcohol at a supermarket, can't do that at home. Arrive at WL about 11 am. What can I say? This place is gorgeous, pictures don't do it credit. Unfortunately rooms aren't ready, was hoping to get lucky. We go to get lunch at Roaring Forks and go exploring. Get in 1 room at 2 and the other room at 3 pm. As soon as we get in room, we start to unpack alittle and unfortunately my bad knee partially dislocates on me. Not a good start but I am determined to enjoy this trip that we have planned for over a year. Hobble down to Whispering Canyon for dinner(I can't make it to Ohana's like planned so we improvise.) This place was very fun and a good meal, Mom was alittle cranky from heat so she didn't enjoy it as much as me, DH and DS's did. Went up to room and sat on balcony, had a couple of drinks and relaxed. Still couldn't believe we were finally there. Day 2 Knee is hurting but the fun must go on. PS for Tony's Town Square at 9am, had a great time. Kids went wild seeing the characters and getting their autographs. Took one roll of film at breakfast alone. The Italian french toast was delicious. Walked down Main Street and I think it finally sunk in that we were there. Went on Tea cups first then headed to Mickey's toontown, saw more characters. Did Pooh with FastPass, what a great ride. Did Buzz and Space Mountain. Crowds weren't too bad, but the heat was horrible. My knee had had it by 3, and heat had gotten to all of us so we decided to rest at pool and room. Had dinner at Cape May Cafe, highly recommend it. Think DH went back for clams and mussels at least 5 times before 2 yr. old DS had enough and started throwing temper tantrum. He really doesn't have much patience and when he is done eating he thinks everybody else should be too. Finally tore DH away from the clams and mussels and went back to room. One problem that day was transportation to Beach Club for dinner, I can see why people say it is a pain to go from one resort to another without a car. One bus driver told us one thing and then found out he had told us wrong way. Finally ended up getting a cab(about $13 with tip) and just got a cab back to hotel after dinner. Other than that WL transportation was great all week. Sorry if I rambled on. Will do day 3 and 4 later. ![]()

Donna...didn't you just love the WL??? It is my all time favorite resort. No picture can capture the way that is feels to walk into that fantastic lobby! I just love sitting by the fireplace on the floor above the main entrance (did you find it?). And...nothing can describe that warm woodsy smell.
Sorry to hear about your knee. Sounds like you had a great time, in spite of your challenges. Can't wait to hear the rest!

Welcome back! Sorry to hear about your knee and I completely agree about the heat. Owee!
You want to hear about toddler temper tantrums at Disney well when we took our son to Disneyland last Dec. (he was 3) he through a huge fit on Donalds boat in Toontown because we wanted to leave and do something else and he didn't. For those who do not know, Toontown is about as far away from the exit as you can get. Well I had to carry him kicking and screaming all the way through the park and back to our our room at the Annabella hotel.:dazed Kid's got stamina got to give him that. Where was I? Oh yeah sounds like a good trip so far. Looking forward to hearing more! Did it get any cooler after the 9th? That's when we flew back to the beautiful 60 degree weather here in Washington.

Trish, WL was great. You could spend the whole week there with all their different spots to explore.
MMouse, it only got hotter. From the 10th to the 13th it was 90 to 93 degrees everyday. Was kinda happy coming home because it was 64 out. I agree, toddlers have alot of stamina. My next report will have the worst tantrum of the trip in it. Hope to get to that report later today. Thanks for reading and for sympathy about knee. Amazing what you can suffer through to have a good time.

mmouse, we thought by going in Oct. it might be alittle cooler than summer. I heard that the storm Lili is what caused all the heat. Hopefully next time we go it won't be so brutal.
Dana, we did really like Whispering Canyon. It is really a different eating experience, fun for the whole family.
