Donna's Trip Report - Day 3 and 4
Day 3
DH has talked me into trying to take it easy part of the day. We have breakfast downstairs at Whispering Canyon, fun in the morning too. DH takes 5 yr. old DS to MK while I take 2 and half yr. old DS to room for a rest. We decide to meet up at Buzz ride at 3:30, this gives my knee a rest and gives temper boy a nap. Days go sooooo much better without him being grumpy. We meet up and do Buzz, do TTA (seems to be big fun for the boys, we stayed on and did it twice), do Dumbo, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, choo choo train , tried Snow White. 5 yr. old cried before ride started and little brother has to do what big brother does so both cried whole ride. Now they have both watched the movie several times and liked it, so they wanted to do the ride. I guess watching movie and doing ride are 2 different things. Another hot day, kinda kills you walking around sweating like that. Just drains you. Head back to hotel and do pool, grab something at Roaring Forks. Funny how pool slide is 5 yr. old's favorite part of trip so far, 2 yr. old won't even go near the pool. My mom didn't handle the heat too well(she also has bad back) so she did her own thing on this day.Day 4 Goofy's Beach Blast at Cape May Cafe for breakfast, again kids loved the characters, another roll of film taken at a meal. Food was good, not too crowded either. Decide to head over to EPCOT by boat. Another scorcher, everybody was starting to wilt. Entered at Worldshowcase so we walked around. Started to do the Kidcenters, but temper boy started in Norway and screamed until Morocco so that made things very difficult. So we got some of the masks colored and stamped by each country, but neither DS seemed into it. Did boat ride in Mexico, my mom left to see DVC presentation at Boardwalk. Met her later in America. Heat was really getting to kids and they weren't too fascinated with the countries. Met mom and headed to cool station, got everybody to taste the Beverly. :p Watermelon was best in my opinion. Got on Spaceship earth with no wait, that should have been our warning. Ride broke down 8 times while we were on it. Luckily it didn't bother the boys too much, strange since they are afraid of the dark. Actually temper boy passed out, too much screaming I guess. Went to dinner at Le Cellier. Everyone enjoyed it very much. It's funny how nice it is to hear other kids screaming and acting up when you are out, everytime Billy had a tantrum somebody was always joking with us about understanding what we were going through. And we always laughed when we heard other kids because we understood too. Finished up dinner and walked around alittle, headed back to hotel. I know we really didn't experience too much of EPCOT but we enjoyed walking around and the heat just kinda killed us. It was more of a relaxing visit than a do rides visit which was fine for us. When the boys are older I think they will enjoy EPCOT more. Will finish with day 5 and 6 later. Thanks for reading.

I'm laughing because you call your son temper boy!:laugh
Was there anything that set him off? Was it the heat? Over stimulated? Tired? I'm so curious because my boy will be almost 2 on our trip...and he is already starting with the temper. Any suggestions for me? (send me a personal message if you would rather)

Crying from Norway to Morocco? I guess I should not complain about my son's tantrum when yours cried across continents!;)
Our son was not a big fan of world showcase either. That's why we decided to do it the first day. Thought it might be harder to keep the little ones happy if they did MK first and then tried to do the less kid friendly World Showcase after. We also had to skip a lot of EPCOT to keep the kids (his 4-year old cousin went with us) from being too bored. Just another excuse for another trip (as if we need one.):)

Sounds like you guys had a great trip despite the temper issue! Those are the kind of stories that we can abuse our boys with later in life! Although we were pretty lucky on this trip (unlike the Disneyland trip mmouse67l described in his other post), there were moments I thought DS and Daddy were going to have a rematch!!
Looking forward to reading days 5 and 6!! Oh, how's the knee doing now? Hope it is better!!!

Temper boy? I love it. We skipped epcot all together so don't feel bad. your trip sounds like a blast and I had to giggle when you mentioned the pool slide being the 5yr olds favorite. That's all my DD wanted to do..that and RNR. I was fine with it. They have a nice ice cold White Wine for me to have as I watch her slide away..lol

Thank you all for your kind words, my knee is doing ok. It is still bothering me, probably because I haven't found the time yet to go to the Dr. Will have to do that this week.
Trish, as you know some 2 yr. olds can have a wicked temper. My son has always been stubborn and his temper has gotten worse the older he gets. I think the fact of being in a strange place and the heat combined caused him to get out of control at times. When he started my DH would just take him out of whatever store, restaurant or ride line that we were in until he calmed down. Once he realized that he wasn't going to get his way he usually calmed down. Make sure you give him a nap around his normal time if you can, we found that it helped if he got a nap. Sometimes he fell asleep in the stroller, so we just stayed in the park. He stayed up alittle bit later at night than normal but his naps seemed to balance that out. Maybe since you are going in January the weather will not be a problem for you. We really thought about skipping EPCOT but it was something that we wanted to do ourselves and the boys usually like walking around and seeing new things. And now we have something to torture them with when they are older, who else can embarass their kid by saying "You threw a temper tantrum threw 2 continents" LOL
