This was my first time to WDW and I loved it!!! We drove for 24 hours to get there so it was worth it to me. On the first day, last Sunday, the 22nd, we got up early to do the Chef Mickey Character Breakfast. What an awesome start to a fabulous trip. Then we were off to a Magic Kingdom. We were so green, we didn't have a clue what we were in for. We went back to the hotel at noon a bit disappointed thinking we had seen it all after Stich's Great Escape (Avoid at all cost by the way-horrible terrible waste of time and energy)!! We then decided to look at brochures that we were given that were said to be "brand new" so we could plan and lo and behold we discovered the rest of the Magic behind Magic Kingom. We went back after lunch and stayed until closing. Even now, that is my favorite park. Hands down. On Tuesday, we went to Epcot. We were warned to get a Fast Pass for Soarin and that was absolutely worth any wait I would have given. Best ride ever. I loved it. Wednesday we went to the beach early and then came back for the Magic Hours at Animal Kingdom. What a fun park. The safari was great fun and my dd loved it.....she is an animal lover. Thursday we went back to Animal Kingdom for the morning and then over to Magic Kingdom again for the Magic Hours from 11pm-2:00........that was a blast! Friday morning we went to MGM. I wished we had more time there but we only stayed for about 4 hours b/c 2 hours of that was waiting for the Star WArs parade and then waiting for my dh and dd to get back from the Rocking Roller Coaster. It was unbearably humid that day. I would do Disney again in a heartbeat; however, I must say unless you have children that are 0-10, don't stay at the All Star Movies Resort. We had the worst service ever there. The staff was very rude and I am a patient person so believe me when I say rude. Also, very very unknowledgeable and unhelpful. On Monday, we had decided to stay an extra day, I called and the young lady on the other line flat out refused to help me make arrangments to do so even at another hotel. She said that they were sold out and that was that. I explained to her that we would pay extra to just be moved to another resort and she stated to me "we just don't transfer guests like that unless it's a prior reservation". I have never heard of that and sure enough a lady at the pool that afternoon did the exact same thing. Then when I called to try to get a Photo Pass, they told me that they could not add that to my package and to call my travel agent. I asked her again if she even knew what that was and she told me that it was an additional charge. So, when we got to Epcot that day, I walked right up to a Photo Pass person and they set up everything for free.........

Wow...it sounds like you dealt with some inexperienced people...I'm glad it didn't ruin the magic for you.

I'm also very excited that you discovered the rest of the magic kingdom! What a pity it would of been if you would of stopped after Stitch!

Wow, like Erin said, good thing that those CMs didn't ruin the fun for you.
How did you like Splash Mountain? Did you do Splash Mountain in MK?
How about Peter Pan? What did you think?

I found a lot of CMs on our recent trip that were less-than-experts on the new Disney policies and procedures, but I guess it must be tough to train that many people in such a short amount of time.

I'm glad you still had a good time and were able to overlook the shortcomings you encountered.

Thank you for your trip report!! (You're so right about Stitch!) Glad you still found lots of magic on your first time! It can be overwhelming! I'm sorry you ran into problems with the CMs. The only time I stayed at the All-Stars I encountered the same difficulties. I hate to think that this is more common at the Value Resorts, but I haven't encountered that at the others. Now that you've had a taste of the magic, it's time to start planning your next trip!

Welcome to DC...sounds like you still had a great time, all I can say is plan, plan, plan for your next trip. I was fortunate enough to do ridiculous research my first time and it paid off (DW still thanks me for being such a "over"- planner). Second time was even better (and easier to plan) because now you can visualize instead of just reading and looking at pictures. Now the third time coming in August...I am feeling like a pro.
