Since I never finished my trip report and since I am in the mood to relive the trip, I am going to do my best to remember the details. I also have lots of pictures to post as well.

June 27-28—Swan (got bumped from the Dolphin for one night)

June 21—
Our flight left Utah at 8:00am and we arrived on time to Orlando at about 2:30pm. We took the Magical Express to the resort and arrived around 4:15ish. We were on Delta, so all our luggage was handled by the ME. It was so nice not to have to haul it around. If you want to read the details about the ME, they are in the other trip report I started, but never finished.

Our room at the CSR was in the Rancho 6B area. I had originally booked a water-view room since it’s all that was left with the AP discount. This view was stretching it quite a bit, but it didn’t really matter anyways. We had a corner room, which was nice. The downfall of our location was the long walk from El Centro—we could never seem to flag down one of those golf carts. But it was nice to be by a bus stop.

After a brief 10 minute rest in the hotel, we were off to our first park. We couldn’t decide between MGM-Studios or the Magic Kingdom for the night, so we decided to take which-ever bus came first. It ended up being the MK. Then on the bus ride, we had to debate which ride to do first—Pirates or Splash Mountain… We ended up doing Pirates because we literally walked right onto the ride and had our own boat. So of course we had to sing very loud.

I really can’t remember too much of what we did the rest of the night. We did have dinner at the Columbia Harbour House where we shared a basket of chicken fingers and French fries. While we were eating, the classic Florida storm started. This was not going to get in our way of having fun. So we donned the ponchos (thanks DC for the tip to bring your own!) and headed out. This was by far the craziest rain storm I have ever been in, but we had so much fun in the process. We got absolutely soaked from the waist-down (the wind kept blowing our ponchos up), but we splashed in every puddle we could find. After all—we were finally at Disney World! All those people huddled up under roofs must have thought we were crazy. We ran over to the castle and splashed around outside there—I think that was one of the favorite moments of our trip.

After all the splashing, we went to Mickey’s Philharmagic—this was one of my favorites. We went to it so many times during the course of our trip. After the rain cleared up, it was getting pretty busy and the lines were getting long. So I remembered another DC tip that the TTA never has a line, so we went over there. OMG, this ended up being another favorite—true to the DC word, there was no line at all—we even had our own train. We rode this several times because it was so fun to see all the different areas from the ride. I can’t remember which day of the trip it was, since we seemed to always end up at the MK sometime during each day, but one of the times on the TTA, Space Mountain was down and they had all the lights on inside. It was really cool to see all the tracks and stuff, so we had to take another ride around so we could film the inside of Space Mountain.

Well we rode more rides while the first SpectroMagic and Wishes were going on—the details are kind of fuzzy, but thank goodness for fastpass—then we decided to get a treat at the Main Street Bakery before heading back to the room. We shared an apple turnover (mmm, sooo good) and then caught part of the 2nd SpectroMagic as we headed out towards the bus. Our luggage was waiting for us when we arrived back at the room--I don't know how long it took to get there. It was about 11pm when we got back to our room. We were exhausted, but still had a hard time sleeping because we were so excited to be at Disney World.

June 22—Magic Kingdom, MGM-Studios, and Downtown Disney

So today was the morning Extra Magic Hour at the MK. For some reason, we had a really hard time getting out of bed (perhaps it could be the 2 hour time difference and the jet lag? ) So we left the CSR around 8am. We decided to hit Fantasyland first since that seems to get really crowded. Peter Pan was number one on the list for the day. We did many more and then decided to do the Tea Cups before our breakfast. Wow is all I can say. I am not much for fast spinning and Kelli is a maniac, so with the knowledge I have gained about riding with my sister from previous Disneyland trips, we decided to sit in separate cups. Probably the smartest thing I did all trip. I was still dizzy getting off that ride and I never touched the center wheel.

Next we caught the majority of the Cinderellabration before it was time for our 10:30ish breakfast at the Crystal Palace. I couldn’t remember the exact time, so I decided to check the trusty itinerary that I had been planning for months (basically since January when we booked the trip). I go to pull it out of my backpack when I discovered something I couldn’t believe…I HAD LEFT THE MASTER PLAN AT HOME! I couldn’t believe it. Well the rest of the trip became all spontaneous. I did leave a copy with my mom so when I needed a ADR time, I called her, but I was shocked at myself that I could forget such a thing.

Crystal Palace was so much fun! We decided to do one character meal and we chose this one because we love Winnie the Pooh and Friends. The food was really good and the characters were so cute. We got to meet Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, and Piglet. We had a great time here and having the Disney Dining Card (I bought an AP to get the room and food discounts) made it even better.

After breakfast, we were so full we just wandered through Main Street. It was getting very crowded at this point, so we decided to head over to MGM-Studios. So we hopped on the monorail to the TTC and then caught the bus to MGM.

Of course the first thing we did once we got there—it took about 25-30 minutes—was grab fast passes for RnRC. I have been so excited to ride this for a long time. We then wandered around the park waiting for our return time. We did the Great Movie Ride which was fun and some other things that I can’t remember very well. And then it was time.

We ran back to the RnRC—which at that time, my 23 yr old brother who was at work called so of course I had to rub it in his face as we were walking through the line --and we got right on the ride (again, I love Fastpass!). We ended up on the front row and had so much fun. We were going to get Fastpasses for ToT next, but decided to do RnRC again. So we did some more rides, RnRC again, and then got our ToT fastpasses. It was raining again at this point and we still had a while until our return time and were getting tired, so we decided to head back to our room for a break.

After a nap, we decided we wanted to head to DTD to do some shopping and get dinner since we were starving since we skipped lunch (it was about 5:30pm). We had originally had plans for the Plaza Restaurant, but hey, this trip was all spontaneous now. We ended up eating at Planet Hollywood after about a 20 minute wait since we didn’t have reservations—the food was pretty good. I had the club sandwich and Kelli had a burger. This was my first time at a PH and I enjoyed it. Afterwards, we shopped up a storm at the World of Disney store since I got the AP discount there and then wandered around for awhile before heading back to the room. We were going to head back to MGM to catch ToT and Fantasmic since it was only about 9:30, but went back to the room instead. After sending some postcards off to the family, we crashed for the night.

Yes, we did go on the Jungle Cruise and I even thought of you as we were standing in line. We did it at night which was cool. We had one of those CMs who were training to work at the Hong Kong Disneyland. It was pretty funny since her jokes weren't really flowing with the accent.
