We went to the "Big D" and I don't mean Dallas!!

Thursday, October 20, was CRAZY. We got up and got the kids to school and me to work and hubby to pack and do all the last minute details. I got off work at 11:15 and came home, picked up hubby, we went to the kids schools, got them and off for the airport. For the past few months, the kids thought we were going to Dallas...boy were they going to be surprised!

We had told them that sometimes planes stop in other cities and pick up more people before heading to their final destination. They knew we had used award points for this trip so I told them the flight may be a little long...
They both thought it was cool, yet sad, that we were flying to Orlando and we wouldn't be able to go to Disney.

The flight was great, and we landed at MCO at approx 5:45pm EST. We told the kids we had to get on another plane to take us to Dallas. When we walked downstairs we saw the magical express bus and I said "wouldn't it be cool if we could just hop on and spend the weekend at Disney?" The kids agreed but said, "yah, but we have to go to Dallas"....I said "Well, why don't we stay...do you want to go to Disney World for the weekend???" They weren't sure wether to believe me or not. But as soon as they knew we weren't kidding, they were so excited!!! Within 10 mins we were on the Magical Express bus on our way to All Stars Movies. We arrived at All Stars Movies and we were checked in by 7:00pm. We then went out to the bus stop and a bus to EPCoT pulled up immediatley and we were off! We were in EPCoT by 7:30. We rode figment and then rode the boat in Mexico and started to eat our way around the world! The food festival was fun! Along the way we rode Maelstrom and shopped in Germany, Japan, and Morocco. Hubby tried Escargot (I had a taste and it wasn't bad!). We also had some yummy Florida Mango wine. mmmmmmmmm! Then we rode Test Track and went to Soarin' about 11:30. We rode it and then after we were done, it was the last ride of the night and the place only had about 10 people in it. We asked if we could ride again and they let us! We even got to sit in the first row, which was a first for me! It was awesome!!!! What a great night it was. The kids were surprised, Magical Express was super, and check in was a breeze.

Althought it's a little blurry, you can see the kids excitement when we told them at the airport!

Oh, and also, the Food and Wine Festival was celebrating it's 10th year, just as DS was celebrating his 10th birthday. Here is a shot of DS at the entrance to EPCoT with a topiary birthday cake with 10 candles!
