pre trip the week before we started hearing about the tropical depression which was turning out to be Hurricane Wilma we decided to watch it closely and make our decision to go up until Thursday night We kept hearing the same thing it would be Saturday /Sunday before it got to us so we figured what the heck we will still go

Friday October 21 ,2005 We woke up at 5 am were on the road by 6 am wow not alot of traffic made great time Had to stop off at Epcot guest relations because our Disney dining experience cards didnt arrive yet and still hasnt and was by pop century by 10 am checked in and asked just in case we needed to stay if they would be able to let us due to Hurricane wilma . They said they blocked off rooms just in case and to let them know as soon as possible . Our room wasnt ready so off to breakfast at everything pop had the breakfast wraps and we were then off to Epcot went and got a fast pass for soaring and then off to figment and test track and to just take in that we were actuall here . We then hopped off to world showcase

World showcase we ate around the world Richard and I shared tasters as we like to call them from around the world We started off in Canada ( got maple walnut fudge yum dessert first ) it was too hot for chedder cheese soup ( up until after the hurricane it was hot hot hot ) then I forget what else we tried but by the time America came we were so full we decided to save the other stuff for Sunday and decided to go back to the hotel to relax and get ready for WCC and our meet with Ron and shalah


OFf to Whispering Canyon cafe We saw Ron in the parking lot and we parked and Met shalah and there wonderful Friends they brought Mark and Heather . Since everyone is watching calories we didnt get the all you can eat skillet but I got wonderful pork chops and richard got what he loves chicken ( I forget what everyone else had ) after dinner we all disperse and go our seperate ways because we are meeting early in the morning for CP at MK

Day 2 MK October 22,2005

We get up at 6 am with wake up call from our favorite mouse and stitch .We turn on the news and find we got our channel 10 news from South florida on wow they are now saying sunday Monday its going to hit ( the day we are supposed to leave ) we decided lets get the hotel room and leave on Tuesday just in case it does hit and we needed to stay ( they said if we didnt need to stay they would refund the money ) We then were off to MK and got there right behind Shalah Ron and Mark and Heather ( five minutes late for CP ) We were seated right away and ate lots of yummy food love the Breakfast lasagna there . Tigger was the first we saw and of course I was wearing my tigger shirt and told him he was my favorite . Boy he made a big deal of it too he kept kissing me and hugging on me at one point he took my hand and had me petting him it was too cute Wow some needed magic . Ok then after breakfast we went to tomorrow land and did stitch space mountain ( one I never usually do but Ron Shalah Mark and heather wanted to ) COP and buzz off to Adventure land and Shalah Mark andHeather did the Swiss family robinson tree house while Ron Richard and I stayed back I went and got my DOle whip float yum yum ( it was extremely muggy and that was refreshing ) then off to Pirates wait times werent too bad . We decided to get a fast pass for splash and then off for a turkey leg that Mark and Heather wanted Richard and I shared one Mark and heather shared one and Ron and Shalah shared one . then we were off to see the country bears then off to splash mountain we decided that we all needed a rest . Ron and shalah wanted us to see their little doggie Minnie ( taco bell dog ) so we went with them to there hotel and played with minnie and then we took a nap there ( they had a suite they even said we could stay with them if we needed to because of the hurricane but Richard and I said we didnt want to impose on them ) .


After a while we went back for Dinner at Tony's town square well the salad and bread was great and what everyone else ordered was ok but Richard and I ordered the 12 ounce steak to share and well the steak was ok but all the veggies that came with it was ice cold well we told the server this and he said thats how it is served well I didnt know potatoes were supposed to be cold after the meal we staked out our claim for Wishes which always gives me goosebumps then off to bed for Epcot day

Sunday day three

We ate at Pop Century for breakfast then

We met up with Ron and Shalah as the park opened headed for soaring since we didnt do it on Friday wow is all I can say we were in the first row and it is just awesome . then off to do test track ( thank god no one wanted to do MS because I feel the rest of the day ) then off to Universe of energy after that We decided to split up because Richard and I wanted to do the other tasting around the world that we didnt do on Friday we got to China and Parkhopper called so we went to meet up with them and I called Ron and he got my message and Found us at the American pavillion well after talking with Parkhopper for a little while we decided ot head on out we wanted to go relax at the hotel and wanted to do some DTD shopping and since I had the buy one get one free coupon for Giradellis Richard wanted one lol ( he was asking for it all weekend ) so off to DTD and we shopped and we got our sundaes while having to fight for a table I had a table and this women shot in front of me saying its there table they have been waiting for one for a long time wow what a rude person richard saw this while he was on line ordering the sundaes and well he thought I would do more then walk away which is what I would have done but I didnt want anything spoiling my vacation I quickly found another table and Richard finally sat down and we waited and waited for our sundaes finally they came and they were so yummy . then off to relax at the hotel when it started Raining ( first bands of Hurricane Wilma came through )

In the morning we had decided to try Ohanas and got a 9:10 ps that was fine for us since we munched all day lol . We got there about 8 pm and were seated by I would like to say 8:30 pm All I can say is the food is still Awesome
Ohana's did away with the lazy susan so they bring big plates to your table it started off with Fried Wonton Chips wow they were yummy with the dipping sauces they have two new sauces and they kept the peanut sauce ) and the Salad after a few minutes they bring the shrimp ( yes with the shells but still as good as ever ) with a sauce and the chicken wings then came the potatoes yum yum we liked it better then the rice and then the veggies they were ok ( I am not a veggie person ) then came the main course the sausage was good so was the other stuff but because of WW we couldnt fit that much in and couldnt get seconds ( I ordered more shrimp though since I love shrimp ) after that we got the bread pudding with banana's foster sauce and Ice cream we both agreed we like it better than the pineapple yum yum we got a great suprise as we waited for the dessert The Halloween parties fireworks went off what a wonderful site since I forgot to mention we had a window seat . After dinner we drove back to pop to find out that since Wilma will be making landfall the parks that will open will be TBA but the only ones that would open monday would be MK And epcot ( NO MGM ) which was what we had planned for monday .

Monday Hurricane day

We woke up to my cell phone ringing ( my mom called every hour with blow by blow plays of what was happening down there ) trees falling for sale signs blowing away . Richards grille flying across the yard . Disney world was great they had movie stations going till the parks opened (got to see pirates and Remember the titans ) well we finally decided to venture out and get breakfast and well it was raining and wind was blowing hard we made it but the lobby was a zoo they had chip and Dale signing autographs there which i thought was a great suprise and we ate breakfast and we knew we were stuck till Tuesday at this time because my mom and sister said dont even attempt to come home so we trudged back to the room after breakfast to watch some movies and updates on weather down south ( they still had channel ten from South florida on so we got to see some of the stuff that was happening there ) we then noticed a blinking light on our phone ( they kept leaving messages on updates on our phone and found out that MK was opening at one I jumped in a shower and we were off to MK we ate at columbia house after riding IASW and Mickeys philaharmagic then we did Haunted mansion and decided to head on out to play mini golf I lost to Richard by thee strokes darn it we wanted to play another round but that is when I found my travelers checks missing oh no panic mode we went back to the hotel and we went right to the room I see flashing lights ok another message I listened to it and they said they had something for me at the front desk I was like bat out of **** I ran to lobby and guess what some nice person found my travelers checks and turned them in the were wet but at least they were found . Richard called the person and well thanked them they said they were on the way to South florida to help hurricane victims and we said we were from south florida and stuck there till tomorrow so be safe and thank you so much for finding my wifes travelers checks ( they were in my name because richard couldnt come with me to get them ) then we were off to DTD we ate Dinner at Earl of sandwhich andgot dessert from Goofys candy shop ( I got a huge oreo cookie that I designed my self ( dipped it in Milk chocolate with white chocolate chips and springles and then drizzled with white and milk chocolate yum yum ) and then off to bed to get ready for the drive home

Tuesday Drive home

We got up early checked out ate breakfast knowing who knows when we will get a hot meal go shopping at Walmart for stuff my mom and sister asked us to get ( gas can propane stuff ice and non perishables We hit the road get to PSL check out our new house it was fine except for a few shingles and the new trees thank god . tried to find gas but power was out in PSL so we hit the turnpike in hopes of getting to WPB service plaza well lets just say the line up to get in and to get gas was about a three hour wait but we needed gas so we wait and wait we hit mile marker 95 which is about a mile and 1/2 away from the plaza I cant wait anymore I hit the road walking to go to the bathroom and well lets just say Richard moved an inch by the time I got back they only had premium and were letting us only get twenty dollars worth I filled ten in my car and the rest in gas cans for the generator that Richard got the next day that he never hooked up due to the fact he was working at Hughes all day every day and by the time he came home it was too dark to do it Thank god we got power back Friday because we had to take cold showers and well we found places that had food so we didnt go without hot meals . All in all the only damage we have seen are Screens ( from Patios gone and lots and lots of trees down


The one park we didnt get to do was MGM but I guess that means next trip I start with that park

Welcome back! Sounds like you had a busy but fun filled trip! I can't wait to try Goofy's candy shop on our next visit. Also glad the damage from Wilma wasn't too bad.

I'm so glad you had a great trip in spite and losing (and finding!) the traveler's checks and Wilma. I really want to eat around the world at the World Showcase. That sounds like fun! Thanks for the great TR!!
