Christmas in Orlando

We returned home on 28th December after spending 3 fantastic weeks in Orlando.
The first week we stayed at Universal's new Royal Pacific Resort which I would recommend to anyone for a number of reasons not least of all being so close to all the action at the Universal Parks and City Walk.
On the 18th we moved down to the Grosvenor near to Downtown Disney. That was okay but nothing special to be honest.......but , once again , being so close to Downtown was nice. Mickey's Xmas Party was brilliant. The firework display that night was better than ever............rivalling the one at EPCOT.
Christmas night we ate at Citricos at the Grand Floridian. Good food , lovely atmosphere..........a very nice experience that I'd recommend to anyone.
The weather was a bit changeable ( thanks to El Nino 1998 ! )
but that didn't matter one bit. We had a great time and met some nice people from all over the US . I would particularly like to mention the American couple we met outside EPCOT who had recently been on tour of the South Pole. Their penguin story and the comparison between the British and US research centres had me and my wife in hysterics. Also the guy from New York that we met on the rapids at Busch GardensI. I told him he might get a bit wet....................and he got soaked. We all laughed so much. It's things like this that make us come back time and again. You certainly miss the friendliness and courtesy when you get back to London.
Thanks to everyone we met for making our visit so special.

I'm gonna move this over to the Trip Reports forum, since it's more of a trip report than anything else.

Rob thanks for the trip report. I agree with you about the courtesty and friendly people at WDW. I think the Disney magic brings out the best in everyone!!

Chaos welcome to Disney Central. Glad to hear your experience at All Star Music was a good one. Where did you stay on your last visit? We went Sept 2002 and it was wonderful... very light crowds! Have fun planning your next trip! Disney Central should be a huge help!

The time before it was with my 17, and 6 year old, stayed at one of the vacation club resorts, Can't think of name, had a Bord walk them. Romm was a little bigger, and had a micrwave, but the busses took twice as long to come get you, and it seamed to me that the time on the buses was also. Still had a great time!!! it was in 2000, it took me untill 2002 to get back, Mikey willing the hole group that went last trip will go this Sep.
Do you know if the Music or Movie hottels have conecting( meaning that there is a door that opens from one room into the nexed) rooms? :) :chaos

Chaos, Welcome to Disney Central!!

You will love the people here!

There are several threads about All Stars going on here at Disney Central. Type "all stars" in the search area in the top left hand side of the home page, you will find a lot of tips about staying there.

And the answer to your question is yes. Make sure you tell them EXACTLY what you are needing when you book your room. They cannot guarantee it, but they do a pretty good job of meeting your requests. The earlier you request it, the better the chances.

By the way, where is Red Oak???
