Quickie Report for Wkend Trip

Got in Fri nite for quick Christmas trip. ME trip to Poly totally BLEW. Meers must be using some of Snow White's Dwarfs - we got GRUMPY - who made it a point to rant for 10 minutes about the fact that he wasn't a Disney CM <GEE I CAN'T IMAGINE WHY NOT!> and that tourist, in so many words are stupid and shouldn't be allowed to rent cars because they don't know where they are going.

Checked into Poly then went to GF to check out the decs and gingerbread house. WOW. The actually had a lady INSIDE the house selling gingerbread.

Watched MK fireworks from beach at Poly. Really nice.

Dinner at Ohana's. New menu ok, really liked the potatoes and the desert. Steamed shrimp is always good but messy. Adding the sweet & sour makes it more so. Sausage...not spicy enough for me personally. I want my sausage with breakfast or in Germany.

Sat morning did the VMK Insider Tour. (Found out that there are some folks that need lives on VMK.) Hit the different resorts to see decs and spent some time in MGM and EPCOT until legs gave out.

Sun did AK (sorry guys - no EE testing or soft openings yet) then some more resort hopping during rain. Back to MGM for dinner and Osborne Lights - last time I saw them was on back lot and 2 million lights. Now 5 million really cool. Watching Santa Goofy and the little kids one of the highlights. Then to MK for MVMCP - managed to catch some of the parade and got great spot for fireworks. Best I've ever seen there. So many that by the end the smoke was so thick some were getting partially hidden!

Slept in Monday morning then headed back home - at least we didn't have GRUMPY as our driver again!

Thanks for the report. Sorry about your experience with ME...I had the same one and will never use it again...free or not. Sounds like you had a great time in the world and that's what counts. Thanks for sharing!!!

I'm glad you had a good time in your short stay! Did you learn anything new? Eat anywhere you wouldn't return or maybe a new favorite?

We mainly hit Ohanas for sit down. I hate to be tied down to PS reservations so we tend to eat good breakfast then just go with the flow. (More accurately - against the flow. We park hop as the whim hits.)

Did get into SciFi and thought it was pricey for what we got. Coors $4! Deserts good so next time we'll try to hit it for desert only.

Oh yeah, SKIP the new Narnia display unless you can walk right in. It's 5 minute preshow then a forest scene with a 10 minute preview.

Thanks for the reply! Sci-Fi is on my list for a lunch and I understand it's best to stick to burgers there. I have also read about others having dessert only and that may be an option for us instead of the meal.k
