I have been trying to decide how to write this report, but I can't seem to get a handle on it, so I am just going to dive in.

The cast:

DH 44
DS 9
DS 5 (Birthday at Disney!!)
Me Age just doesn't matter to me.

For starters, we did NOT miss our flight!!! So we were already off to a great start. We flew Southwest for the first time, they were marvelous. Everyone was pleasant, helpful and funny! They made a big deal over the boys, and even announced that Cole would be turning 5 on our trip. He was very impressed.

We used Magical Express. We had used them in June and it went very well then. Not so much this time. Lets just say, you get what you pay for. And, remember, you don't pay for Magical Express.

I am almost embarrassed to admit this, but we did not go to any of the parks the first day! We just stayed at the resort, which was Port Orleans Riverside for the first 5 days. We had a lovely room, at Oak Manor, and we just loved meandering along the grounds. Had an adr at Boatwrights for dinner, which was unremarkable, so no need to go into details. Except that the service was very s l o w. Went for a dip in the pool, which was heated, however, the air temperature was a bit chilly, even for us northerners. I need to clarify we though. Of course it was just the boys and myself. DH said someone needed to stay healthy to take care of us after we caught pneumonia.

It was a tad chilly for swimming wasn't it. Although one day it hit 80 for about an hour than it got overcast and chilly.

Remember, I told you that Boatwright's is alright but nothing to write a TR about. It's the kind of restaurant you go to when you forgot to make an ADR at another place. Still better than their self serve place ---brrrrrr

Yes,Dopey you did tell me that. The snack place was not anything to write home about either. It was almost always busy and crowded, and then it got decidedly worse when the cheerleaders and football players showed up!

Ok, Friday, and I am dying to see the castle. The buses seem to be running smoothly, so we are happy.

We arrive relatively early, I think just as the park is opening. They are also taping the Christmas parade, so there is a sea of santa hats at the gates. (We were supposed to take part in the taping, but that was not meant to be.)


The train station has this bizarre tarp covering it, to hide the scaffolding underneath it. Kind of cheesy, but I am not going to let it harsh my mellow.

We walk in and just stop because I insist we do to take it all in. And of course I am overcome with emotions and start crying. Then it is off to Tommorowland. Who do we run into but Stitch himself!!

After our brief encounter with the little blue alien, we head for the TTA.

We notice there is just a 10 minute wait for Buzz, so we head over there next. It only turned out to be about 5 minutes, so that was a nice surprise.

And then of course we must do the Carousel of Progress. We are such a bunch of cheeseballs as we sit there singing and mouthing the words. Orville still can't seem to get any privacy 't all around the place.

We had planned to take part in the parade taping, but when we got to the castle, the first group was still there, they had run over, and taping was not going to resume until 2 (originally it was 1:00) and we had an adr at Mama Melroses early, and decided not to wait it out. I was a bit bummed, it was extremely crowded, and I just didn't think the boys, DH included, would fare well waiting. So, off to Riverside for a little dip in the pool, meet some lovely folks from Ohio, and then we are off to Disney MGM.

As an aside here, I just want to say that we met some of the nicest people on this visit. It is always so fun to talk to other Disney folk. Like you have found a long lost relative, if you know what I mean. But I digress.

Mama's was a delightful surprise! We all enjoyed it soooo much. And I finally convinced my boys to see the Muppets, and, guess what?!! They loved it!! Yippee! They are my children afterall. This is another one of those attractions that gets me all choked up. I can't explain it. Reminds me of my childhood I guess.

We also happened upon a Green Army Man!! Very cool!

I'm sorry the Magical Express wasn't so magical for you. I don't think I want to risk it on our trip. It sounds like you had a very nice time so far. I'm looking forward to reading more!

I was so happy to see that your report was started. I am very anxious to hear about your trip. I am so glad that yet another person had a nice meal at Momma's. I love that place....great meal, great service and I love their FOOD!

Great report, my DS had a friend in his class at there the same week and they said they were overrun by cheerleaders as well.

Ok we are still at MGM and we are waiting for the Osborne Lights. We didn't know they had a sort of ceremony to start them off, so that was a nice surprise. We had a blast looking for the hidden Mickeys, my DS 9 says we found 47 Mickeys and 2 Minnies at last count.

Afterwards, my DS 9 and I did the great movie ride, a first for both of us. I liked the movie clips, but the ride was a bit cheesy, especially the gangster.
