Back from WDW- now what?
Hey everyone,
Just a quick note, got back last night and everything went great. I'll be putting together a trip report in a few days but I thought I'd check in. Great time to go! Four days, three nights was just enough. No lines, our longest wait 20 minutes for Indy speedway. Otherwise, the wait times were usually 0-5 minutes. 6 people in Elevator room at Haunted Mansion, 3 people on Dinosaur... We got pictures with 58 different characters and the interaction was great! (Got to see Maleficent!). My nephew had a great time. I had to bribe him to go to the Haunted Mansion, but he loved Space Mountain, Killimanjaro Safaris, Star Tours and Buzz Lightyear. Also, I learned a few things: 1. Never underestimate that midday return to the room even if it's for an hour. I always scoffed at this but it was a life saver for both of us. 2. A daily plan is good but you'll inevtiably end up changing it for some reason, be flexible. Just know what you need to do each morning and go from there. 3. Make PS arrangements for every night, even if you don't go you'll at least have an option each night. I'll post more after I go through all my notes and get my pictures developed.

Welcome home! I really want to know how in the world you were able to find so many characters, especially the "rare" ones! :)

Jimbob that sounds great! I'm so ready to go!!! I agree with Fifi...be sure to give details about the characters. I've never seen Malificient! You were smart to take breaks in the room... we always do and return refreshed and ready to go. Did you take advantage of the Extra Magic Hour? And, how was the weather in the evenings. We're expecting lows in the 40's... is that what you found? Thanks. Can't wait to read your report!

Dab and Fifi,
The weather got down below 50 a few nights. Once the sun goes down it really cools down but probably not until around 10. Bring a light jacket, you'll probably be cold in the morning but once the sun rises it was usually around 65-70 which was perfect for me being from Wisconsin. We didn't take advantage of Early Entry mornings. They really never worked with our morning schedule. We always seemed to be at a different park than the Early Entry one, which was probably why the morning lines were so short. Plus with the smaller crowds, we were usually done with the parks by 3pm (arriving at opening time) so an extra hour wouldn't have made a difference to us either way. Although if people don't take advantage of them they'll go away again so don't do what I did. As for rare characters, I'll start a new thread for it. Maleficent was at the Fantasyland Character Festival. |
