Jimbob's Trip Report- Day 2 Pt.1
Day 2 started with a wake up call from Mickey at 6:30. We had PS at Cinderella's Royal Table for 8:05. I called the front desk to find out when the buses start running (the park wasn't scheduled to open until 9). They said the buses start at 7:30.
We were at the bus stop by 7:15 with about 25 other people all going to character breakfasts. Everyone else was in line for AK which had Magic Morning that day The bus arrived at 7:20. The bus stopped at the Contemporary first and most of the people got off for the Chef Mickey's Breakfast, then it made it's final stop at MK. We walked to the far left of the park entrance where they had a special section roped off for people with PS arrangements. At about 7:55, they opened the gates and let us in. We took our time walking down Main St (which is the coolest part of MK, with the castle at the end of the street). We checked in and were seated right away by the window (on the far right). Our server came by and brought us a plate with fruit, a basket of donuts and sweet rolls, and a bowl of yogurt, granola, and cinnamon (for the fruit) he then told us about the food, JohnBen would get a plate with scrambled eggs, bacon, and french toast sticks. I had a choice of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes and some kind of fritter OR the healthy choice. Needless to say, I picked the former. I overheard our server tell the people two tables over that the princesses start there. Fortunately, We were the third table. Shortly after receiving our food, the princesses arrived, CINDERELLA, SNOW WHITE, ALICE and MARY POPPINS. Cindy took the first table, Snow the next and Alice came to ours. They continued to rotate that way until they'd all been to our table. JohnBen said he liked Mary Poppins the best because she had an accent. The food was really good, especially the fritter-thing it was stuffed with cream cheese. JohnBen ate all his bacon and most of mine. We had planned on doing MK until 3 then going to EPCOT to finish up the World Showcase, we also had PS at Restaurant Akershus. During breakfast, JohnBen decided he wanted to spend the whole day here, which we did. When we were finished we walked down into the lobby where we saw the FAIRY GODMOTHER sitting on the big throne. She had JohnBen sit next to her and talked to him for a few minutes. She was very nice, very grandmotherly. It was about 8:45 and we still had 15 minutes before "Rope Drop" so we did some shopping in the castle until 9. Once the park officially opened we headed in to Fantasyland. The first thing I wanted to do was go to the Haunted Mansion so we were heading that way but we noticed that Peter Pan's Flight had no line so we went on that first. JohnBen was nervous at first but he really liked it. Next, we headed to the Haunted Mansion, as soon as JohnBen saw it he decided he didn't want to go. I told him there's nothing that will hurt him and we walked all the way up to the door, we were the only two people there (no line at all). JohnBen started to plead with me he wanted to leave. I tried everything even bribing him with twenty bucks. He said it even sounded scary (with the organ music and howling wolves) I said it's SUPPOSED to sound that way. Eventually, two other groups showed up, one with a girl about John's age who was nervous but wanted to go anyway. The door opened and the CM must've noticed the apprehension, she said this ride was designed for 2 yr olds. That made JohnBen feel slightly better. I herded him into the portrait room and told him not to look up when the lights went out. In our doom buggy JohnBen tried not to look but I kept telling him about the things. I couldn't blame him for being scared in the hallway with the rattling doorknobs (that freaks me out a little too). Once we got to the ballroom, JohnBen was OK he liked that part and the cemetary. We got EZRA in our Doom Buggy (the tall skeletal one). JohnBen liked that part too. All in all, JohnBen said he liked it but didn't want to go in it again. After the Haunted Mansion we did the exact opposite, It's a Small World. JohnBen liked that I guess I did too. Next was Cinderella's carousel (I stayed off and took pics of JohnBen). It was 10 by then so we went to Ariel's Grotto and saw ARIEL. Snow White's ride was next then the Winniw the Pooh ride. JohnBen was reluctant at first (Pooh is for babies when you're 9 apparently) but he liked the part where you bounce with Tigger (I found it slightly nauseating). We passed the Fantasyland Character Festival and got pics with PRINCE JOHN (who growled at JohnBen), the QUEEN of HEARTS, MALEFICENT and JAFAR. I had my picture taken with Maleficent who was quite pleased with my Hades T-shirt but wanted to know why I didn't have her picture on it. I told her I hadn't bought it yet. Jafar had no one by him so Maleficent asked if I would like to have a pic with both. Jafar made me get down on my knee until the picture was done then he dismissed me with his hand. We saw TWEEDLE DUM & DEE, the WHITE RABBIT, MAD HATTER and ALICE at the Teacups but we didn't go on. Then we headed to Toontown Fair...
