Jimbob's Trip Report- Day 2 Pt.2
...JohnBen spotted GOOFY and PLUTO by the Barnstormer so we got into the small line but they had to leave for a minute for some water and would be right back. While we were waiting, near the Train Station, we spotted ROBIN HOOD, PINOCCHIO, GEPPETTO, FOULFELLOW, GIDEON, TIMON, RAFIKI, and the SHERIFF of NOTTINGHAM. We left our place in line and got pics with all of them then returned to the line.
Only Pluto had come back, so when we were done we went to Minnie's house and played around in there. Then we went to the ToonTown Hall of Fame. Pooh characters were in one, Cinderella and the mice in another and MINNIE, CHIP and DALE were in the last. We chose the latter. Everyone swarmed around Minnie so we got pics with Dale and Chip. Dale tried to take JohnBen's lanyard (it had his money and Park Hopper in it). I made the mistake of putting down our bags while taking a picture of JohnBen and Minnie (who kissed him). Chip took them and started to root through them. We shopped at the County Bounty for a bit and when we left Goofy was back so we got our pics with him. JohnBen wanted to go on the Barnstormer which was pretty cool but short. Mickey's house was next. I don't understand why Minnie lets you play around in her house but at Mickey's everything's behind ropes. We met Mickey in his tent (there were no lines anywhere) and headed to Tomorrowland. JohnBen wanted to go on the Indy Speedway but left me in charge of the gas while he steered. I told him it's a good thing he still has another 7 years to practice for his driver's liscence. Buzz Lightyear's was next. JohnBen really loved this ride because you got to shoot at things. My score was 40K John's was 25K (I think it was because I was in charge of the spinning). We met BUZZ LIGHTYEAR outside his ride. We went on Space Mountain which is always cool. JohnBen liked this ride as well (but not enough to go on again). JIM HAWKINS and B.E.N. were by the Tomorrowland Stage so we got pics of them. We headed to Adventureland next. We met KING LOUIE near the entrance. JohnBen and his mother read Swiss Family Robinson so he really liked the Treehouse. Aladdin's Flying Carpets was cool. JohnBen's a little afraid of heights so he told me not to make it go too high. There was no one in the back so he had his hand in the back controlling the back and forth action. While in the air, we noticed ALADDIN, JASMINE and GENIE. After the ride we got in line to see them. One child was scared of Genie so Jasmine told him to "go fishing". He then went off to the side and pantomimed "going fishing" until the kids was gone. On the Jungle Cruise, our driver steered red-shirted JohnBen near the python claiming it liked to eat little boys in red shirts. JohnBen was a little scared of the Pirates of Caribbean at first but decided he liked it. After the ride, JohnBen bought another sword. I bought a fake skull for my sister (JohnBen's mother) I should add ANOTHER skull since I bought her one last time, she wanted another. We met CAPTAIN HOOK and MR SMEE outside the ride. Then made our way to the Tiki Room (UNM). JohnBen really liked it, I thought it was OK but was disappointed Rowan Atkinson didn't voice Zazu again. We had about 30 minutes before the parade so we went to Pecos Bill's and had lunch (love that Fixin's bar). We then found a good spot for the Share a Dream Come True parade in Frontierland dodgind the swarms of seagulls. The highlight of the parade was when the villian float came by. Cruella spotted a sleeping child in a stroller and began demanding the parents wake her up ("pinch her"). After the parade, we decided 60 degrees was too cold for Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain didn't seem to wonderful for JohnBen. We decided to leave and caught our bus back to the hotel. JohnBen wanted to go swimming. So I told him I'd let him swim for an hour if we can go to Downtown Disney afterward and shop for an hour. JohnBen went swimming in the Fantasia pool (spending most of his time around the water jets Mickey shoots out) He even met a kid from Canada. I sat by the pool taking notes of our trip for an hour. Luckily, he didn't protest when his time was up. Going to Downtown Disney was a bit of a challenge. Every bus that came by was already full of people from All-Star Sports and Music so they were only letting a few people on at a time. After about 3 buses an empty bus showed up then went to Music and Sports At Downtown Disney, we shopped at the new Scrapbook store, Once Upon a Toy, World of Disney and the Lego store. JohnBen wanted to have dinner at McDonalds. It was very crowded, I told him we can eat McDonalds at home. We took the bus back to the hotel and grabbed some dinner in the Food Court. We ended up back in the room by 8. Coming soon- DAY 3- AK, scary dinosaurs, scary bugs and the elusive talking trash can.
