Jimbob's Trip Report- Day 3 Pt. 2
We really didn't do much at Planet Watch. As we were walking up to the building, we heard the same squeaky voice that the talking Palm tree had. In the building we saw it was a talking trash can. I let John chase around the trash can while I checked out a huge python.
JohnBen came up to me and wanted some trash (to put in the talking trash can) I really didn't have anything so I gave him some paper. We didn't see the trash can so we got a pic with POCAHONTAS then went back to looking. We walked through that building three times, the talking trash can was nowhere to be found. JohnBen was very upset. He told me it was my fault I didn't give him trash quick enough. I (stupidly) told him I could have someone stand behind a regular trash can and talk to him. He wasn't amused (have I mentioned I have no kids?). We sat on the bench for a while until he felt better. I told him we could go see "It's Tough to be a Bug" and that made him feel better (but not me since I don't like bugs). We took the train back to Africa and I got JohnBen some popcorn. In Asia, We skipped Flights of Wonder (JohnBen doesn't like birds) and we skipped Kali Rapids (60 degrees was too cold to get soaked). The Maharajah Jungle Trek was neat but it was too cold for the komodo dragons to be out. The tigers and were cool though. To make JohnBen happy we went to see "It's Tough to be a Bug". We were fine until the part where bug spray floods the theatre and the hornet pokes you in the back. Shortly after that JohnBen asked if we could leave... I didn't argue. I don't think we missed much because everyone else was leaving a few minutes after us. Camp MinnieMickey was last. We had a good 45 minutes before the next Lion King show and 30 for the next Pocahontas show. It was about 2:00, and we decided we'd seen everything here we wanted to and headed back to the bus stop and went back to the hotel. Luckily, I made PS for each night at a different restaurant in EPCOT, just in case. It came in handy since yesterday we'd planned on going to EPCOT (Akershus) but skipped it for rest and Downtown Disney (and swimming for JohnBen). Today we'd had PS at Le Cellier in Canada at 6:30. Back to hotel, we got a little snack in the food court and went back to the room for an hour or so. Normally, I'd scoff at the mid-afternoon hotel break but, after all the walking at AK, I considered it a lifesaver. At 4:15, we caught the EPCOT bus. We went to Ice Station Cool. I'd had Mezzo Mix before when I was in Germany so I always have a few cups of that. JohnBen liked the Chinese watermelon stuff and Japan's Vegitabeta. We decided we'd check out France and Morocco, have dinner at Le Cellier then head out. We took the boat to Morocco. I really like Morocco, when you're all the way in the back by the Marrakesh restaurant, it really feels like you're there. We saw Aladdin and Jasmine, but since we'd already got pics with them we headed on to France. In France, we saw CLOPIN. John didn't want his picture taken with him so I went instead. ESMERELDA was hiding in a little alcove under some stairs. We didn't even see her until Clopin pointed her out. We got pics with her too. It was about 6 so we headed to Canada and wandered around until our PS was ready. They were having a special, you could add a lobster tail to any dinner for $10. I ordered the Prime Rib (with a lobster tail), JohnBen ordered the kid's steak. Our server was very nice and funny. She explained where she was from (Saskatchewan) about the decor of the restaurant and the meals and desserts. The food was very good. After dinner, I decided I was too full for adult dessert, so I ordered the Chocolate Moose off the kids menu. John ordered the S'mores. The desserts were spectacular. My moose actually looked like a moose head with maple leaf-shaped cookies for antlers. I had to show the dessert to everyone at the next table. John's was equally huge. Neither of us finished. On the way out we stopped at Mousegear (my favorite shop in EPCOT). JohnBen bought the infamous Buzz Lightyear voice changer. I let him buy it on the condition that I hold it until we get back to the room (I could just imagine that noise on a crowded bus). We caught the bus back to the hotel about 7, stopped at the hotel shop and went back to the room. At 9, I made JohnBen hand over the voice changer so I could get some quiet. Next: Day 4. The last day, Princess breakfast, WDW marathon and the rest of the World Showcase.
