Dab's trip report

Jan. 30- Feb 3rd. Fabulous short trip with PERFECT weather every day. Highs in the mid 70's and lows in the mid 50's! sunshine and no rain evey day! PARADISE!! We saw tons of characters at each park... much more than our Sept. trip! Lots of Florida residents were there adding to the crowds though.

Rental Car:
We reserved our car with National and got a GREAT deal using some tips on Mousesavers. We even were able to get a free Emerald Club membership through a mousesavers tip. That was a huge bonus!! After we picked up our luggage we went straight to the garage at the airport and were told by the National attendant to go pick any car on the Emerald Club isles... no waiting in line or anything. All the cars on that isle were full size. The keys were in the door and we choose a Toyoto Camry for only $86 for the 5 days.

Resort:
We stayed at POR in the Magnolia bend section - Acadian House. We had requested Magnolia Terrace and called before check in time to see if we could get a room assignment since we were checking in around 8:30 PM. The CM was very nice and said no problem, we have you in Magnolia Terrace - top floor. We were disappointed when we checked in because they told us that that building was totally full. We were given a room on the 3rd floor of Acadian House. The building was next to Magnolia Terrace and just as convenient since we had a rental car. Room was lovely and very clean.

Day 1:
Magic Kingdom. Perfect crowds. We walked on just about everything. Used fast pass for Pooh and Big Thunder Mtn. Railroad. Couldn't have asked for a bettter day!! Dinner that night was at 1900 Park Fare (Cinderella's Gala Feast). We had a PS for 5:00 but they didn't have us on our list and I forgot to bring the confirmation # OOPS! It wasn't a problem though and they seated us right away. Food was good but we were a little disappointed in the overall experience. Cinderella and Prince Charming were in the hallway and you had to wait in line to see them (they didn't visit tables). Fairy Godmother, Suzy & Perla visited tables. I'm glad we went but wouldn't do it again. We then headed to MGM for Fantasmic. We walked right in 15 min. prior to show time and got perfect seats right in the center section about mid way up!

Day 2:
MGM early entry then hopped to MK after a mid-day break. MGM was fairly busy with tons of groups of dancers visiting for a competition. You could smell the hair spay and perfume in the air!! We were able to ride TOT & RR right away but lines got longer as the park officially opened. We left at lunch time because the dancers started filling up the park. Lunch at POR food court was a good choice. Empty and very quiet. Nice and relaxing! Then we went back to MK for more rides, Spectromagic and Fantasy in the Sky. It was Sat. so we were expecing more crowds and they were there! We still managed to find short lines and used fast passes for the longer ones. We were surpirsed to find out that there were 2 showings of Spectromagic that night. We watched FITS from the bridge to Tomorrowland and had perfect views of Tinkerbell right overhead!

Day 3:
Magic Kingdom early entry. Walk on everything... 7 rides in an hour! Hopped to Epcot for Princess Stoyrbook Breakfast. Breakfast was wonderful... food was great and hot, princesses were very sweet and spent customary time at the table. Rode TT (30 min. wait) , Malestrom, El Rio Del Tempo, Spaceship Earth and Body Wars were walk on. 1st time on Body Wars I'll NEVER do that again. I don't usually get motion sick but that ride was awful!!! We spent the rest of the day in the desserted WS. We got my DD a passport and she love the Kidcot stations. We made it to every county and she added to her mask each time. It was her favorite thing about this trip and made a wonderful souvenir.

Day 4:
Magic Kingdom. Lines were longer so we made good use of fast passes. Watched the Share A Dream Parade, rode a few more rides and then headed to the airport for our 6:55 PM flight! Return of the rental car was a breeze. Flight was on time, a successful day!

Just when we were feeling sad having to leave, we looked out our window while on the plane and we could see the 7 PM Fantasy in the Sky fireworks over Magic Kingdom. What a magical way to end our trip!

Sounds like a fabulous trip. You and TrishB are helping get over the wait to my turn. Plus it helps keep my mind off my surgery on Tuesday. THanks!

Sorry it took me awhile to reply but I had laparoscopy and a D&C on Tuesday of last week. I have had complications and I'm just now starting to feel somewhat normal again. It was outpatient. I'm just hoping I'm 100% by time we leave for WDW!!

Willbegone, we're praying for you. I know that's not fun, but hopefully a trip to WDW will make you forget about the soreness. Just don't overdo it...It's easy to feel like everything is fine but your body has a weird way of reminding you it's not quite back up to 100%. But like I always say....a trip to WDW keeps the doctor away!

:) Hi, thanks for the great report. Always love reading everyones reports because I MISS Disney World and love hearing about it and also because I like to see if there are new things for us to try the next time we go. I've never heard of the Princess Storybook Breakfast in Epcot. Is that new?

Welcome to Disney Central. To answer you question, yes it is new. They started some time in July 2002 if I'm not mistaken. We went for the first time in Sept. I wrote a more lengthy review after our first trip. You can find that trip report here:
http://www.disneycentral.com/forum/s...book+breakfast
We went again in Jan and had a fabulous time. The first time was the best mostly because of the special treatment my DD received! It is now on our favorites list right along with Cinderella's Royal Table and Chef Mickey's!
