Tishs Trip Report Part 1

Hello everyone from the end of day 3 at WDW!!

Thought I would start my trip report live from the action.

DAY 1... Flight took off on time from Houston at 7:55 am, arrived in Orlando at 11:00, 15 minutes early. Flight was uneventful thanks to my doctor and my "Fear of Flying" prescription for Xanax. Had lunch at the airport while we were waiting for my cousin and her husband and DS to arrive from Boston. Mears came through and our limousine service was excellent and DID include a grocery stop. Checked into the WL Villas at 3:00. The hotel is beautiful. We have a 2 bedroom Villa on the 5th floor. Its very peaceful over here at the Villas, which I find GREAT! My sister is in the lodge overlooking the pool and its fairly loud, I prefer my villa and the "Bullfrog Symphony" I get on my balcony. After we settled in we hit the boat launch, picked up "Blue Whales" on the way from the poolside bar, Yummy! And headed over to the Contemporary for dinner at Chef Mickeys. No PS at 6:00 pm for 11 people, waited 10 minutes. For the first time in my life I (33 years old) fell asleep at the dinner table. Dont know if it was the Xanax, the early flight, or just the relief of finally being here, but it certainly wasnt for lack of good food and entertainment (It was only for about 10 seconds). Anyway...returned to the WL again by boat, quite chilly, but wonderful and passed out (on a chair talking to my cousin) at 9:30.

DAY 2...Woke well rested at 7:30 am. Had breakfast in the Villa, one of the great things about this room, sure saves us some money. Headed out to the Magic Kingdom at 8:30. Took the boat which was very nice but crowded, we had to stand. We spent the first hour or so in Fantasyland, rode everything once the longest line was for Pooh and was 10 min. Most everything else was 5 min or less. By looks it seemed pretty crowded, yet there were minimal lines everyewhere. Longest line we found all day was at Space Mountain and it was 20 minutes. Didnt wait more than 10 for everything else. Had lunch at Pecos Bills, first time but most people on this forum seemed to like it so we gave it a try and enjoyed the fixins bar. Park closed at 7 so we hit the monorail and went over to the Poly for dinner at Ohana. Again NO PS for 11 people, were told 45 minute wait so we got comfy in the bar. 5 minutes later our buzzer thingy went off and we had a table, so much for the drinks, but how can you beat the time! Dinner was fun as usual. Its one of our favs! REMINDER TO SELF: Bring clothes with elastic next trip so that I can breath after dinner! :D Only 2 things wrong so far. Number 1 I left Mousekeeping a healthy tip in a special decorated envelope and didnt so much as get one towel critter. Will try again tomorrow. Number 2 middle daughter woke with what has turned into a full blown flu. Didnt take the advise from the forum and am here without insurance card, DONT DO THAT!

Day 3 to come!

Oh Tish! There is nothing worse than a sick child at Disney World! Hope it's just a 12 hour bug...(or could it be something she ate?? Our son got sick at Sci Fi a couple years ago, and we were out of the parks for one whole day. Disney was nice enough to give us an extra day in the parks, since he got sick from their food. Thought that was a nice gesture...)

Sounds like the first 2 days was great! I could only hope for lines like that in May....I do remember those days, though, before our kids started school and we vacationed in October.

I can't wait to hear all your details on the Wilderness Lodge Villas. That is where we will be staying in May. Do you think the 5th floor is the best, or 4th, since you can see the atrium?? Is the pool view at the villas noisy, too?

Have a magical trip....relax, and have fun!!!

WLV sound wonderful! Fell asleep at dinner... too funny! Hope your DD recovers quickly so all can enjoy the magic! Keep us posted and thanks for the report! I know what you mean about the crowds. It was like that last week too... looks really busy but the waits are short. Gotta like that! Have fun!!

Hey Tish - have you noticed any increase in security at WDW since the upgrade in National Security Level this past week?
