Cirque Du Soleil "Corteo" trip report.
Yesterday DH and I had tickets to see Cirque Du Soleil's show "Corteo" in NYC. This is the 4th Cirque show we've seen and let me tell you this was my FAVORITE so far! The cast was UNBELIEVEABLE, the music was captivating, the story and theme was inspiring for sure, and all of the "acts" where whimsical and TOTALLY breathtaking. One improvement that was evident was the quality of the traveling show facilities. Once you entered you literally felt transported into what seemed like a permanent fixture theater. There were old world chandeliers and candelabras, a 360 screen around the "stage" with resaissance-esque Italian art printed on it. It was amazing.
We decided to drive into NYC, which we NEVER do, and actually the traffic wasn't anything near what we had prepared for. After paying about $20 in B&T tolls we made our way to Randall's Island and saw the famous Cirque set up right away. We were lucky enough to get the hook-up from a friend with VIP passes and got to experience "Tapis Rouge." WOW, we walked in to be greeted with strawberry champagne smoothies and cranberry chicken served in the center of orchids. They had towers of yummy appetizers, a FULL gratis bar, and private bathrooms (thank goodness ) We honestly didn't want to leave the lounge when the show was ready to start. ![]() At intermission they also served a HUGE fondue bar with marshmellows, fresh fruit, brownies, pretzels... just about anything wonderful you'd want to dip into chocolate. Oh, sorry.. THE SHOW!! I sound more excited about the food, haha. Well the show was just AMAZING, like I said, the BEST Cirque show I've seen! You are "STRICTLY prohibited" from taking photos of the actual show so the photos below are outside, etc..

Re: Cirque Du Soleil "Corteo" trip report.
hoping it books for Boston, like the others have. We have seen most of the touring shows and went to Vegas in jan and saw O . I thought it was amazing but not my favorite. Others were on vacation which was very disppointing. Plan on seeing the one at Disney next Feb. What was the story for this one?

I must be hanging with the wrong crowd. My friends never hook me up with cool things like that. Can I have your friends?
