What a great trip we had!

WOW!

All I can say is that my well planned trip became the trip where little went as planned, but we couldn't have been happier

I really pushed for this trip while DD and DS are still small and buy into the Disney Magic 110%. We really liked the hotel and the MK, but it was when we saw Philharmagic the first time that I fell head over heels in love with WDW

Just thinking about my kids reaching for Donald's hand believeing they could really touch him and being swept away with the magic myself makes my eyes well up

I didn't cry when I thought I would (seeing the castle for the first time), but when I did (seeing my first boat at POFQ, of all things) it completely caught me off guard. I loved experiencing new Disney adventures and the warm feeling I had when I was awed by something new to me

Every single person we talked to was happy and warm and nice (that we talked to being the key here, lol

)

Truth be told, I didn't take notes on the trip in the note book I carried with me. The reason I didn't was because I wanted to keep the experience to myself and sort of felt like if I told everyone somehow I'd lose something

Silly and sappy for sure, but this trip FINALLY happening was a big deal for me. Up until the time we landed in Orlando, I still had my doubts that we'd actually set foot on WDW property.

Surprisingly, I am still trying to absorb all we did and all we experienced. And the more I settle into my non-vacation life, the more I appreciate the time we had there, and the bigger Disney Sap I become. And even more surprising, I find that I am not in a hurry to get back

It's like I know I will return someday and that's enough for me.

Haha! Wow, it sounds so wonderful! I am excited to hear how it was since it was your first time going and I haven't been to WDW yet. So, umm.....Where are the pictures?

Day One

My DH, DD5, DS.5 and myself flew out of Sacramento bright and early on Oct 14th. We spent the night before with my sisters--they put us up, kept our can and offered an excellent airport valet service that was painless and free

(yeah, they'll read this, lol).

We had a plane change in San Diego where a really nice guy boarded the plane and sat next to my not-as-hyped-about-this-trip husband. Well this really nice guy was on his way to the Swalphin (I can't remember which one) and had made several WDW trips before. He talked about WDW to my DH and he (DH) finally started to show some PDA about WDW, lol. My DH was up for the trip (after I bullied him into it, of course

lol ), but to everyone he told about it he played it cool. Finally he was excited about the trip

A big thanks to that really nice guy on the plane

We arrived and found our way over to the ME area and waited about 15 minutes for our bus to arrive. It was a 'real' ME bus and I was happy for to see the big red seats with the gold stars I had seen in so many photos. Every child that boarded the bus said in wonder, "The floor SPARKLES!!"

It was very cute to watch. We watched the out of date (but still fun) DVD and it finished just as the bus pulled into it's first stop--Port Orleans French Quarter!!! YAY! We'd made it!!!

Here are K and D after a long travel day, in front of the fountain that was in the courtyard our room faced. Over the week they'd make lots of wishes in that fountain

Our room was great! I had requested a ground floor, building 5 room with a courtyard view. We recieved a ground floor, building 6 room with a courtyard view

I was really happy with the room, but at first my Dh didn't think the room was very big. There is a whole lot of furniature in it, most of it against one wall, so that sort of made it seem crowded (there is a table and two chairs, a big, long dresser with a mirror over it, a cabinet that housed the fridge and a padded bench with a shelf over it). There was lots of room between the bed closest to the door, the table and chairs and the door (plenty for a pack and play and a stroller if needed). The dressing area with the two sinks was much larger than I thought it ws going to be, too. The room was super clean, too, with plenty of towels.

I didn't take any photos of the room itself as it looked just like all the hundreds of photos I have seen other people take. BUT I did take a photo of the hairdryer because it had a nitelite on it, lol. I had forgotten to pack my nitelite and I was thrilled to see this (I don't get out much and I'm easy to please, lol). Also, I took one of the inside of the fridge (yeah, I know

) No freezer compartment

We had dinner at the hotel. FWIW, we ordered two parmesan chicken dinners and it was plenty to feed the 4 of us. Each had a large chicken breast patty with cheese and sauce and more spaghetti than I'd make for us at home. Each came with a bread stick and I think salads. We also ordered dessert--cheesecake for me, icecream for DH and DD, and this for my DS...

I forgot to mention before we went for dinner our Gardengrocer.com delivery arrived. It was a great service! I highly reccommend them! The prices of hte items we bought were actually less expensive than what I pay here in the Bay Area, so the delivery charge brought it right up on par with my prices here.

After dinner we returned to our room to find our luggage waiting for us. Man, that ME was easy for us. I know some of you have had not so magical experience with them, but ours was flawless.

We called mousekeeping and they quickly brought us two bed rails (no charge). We unpacked and hit the hay.

Here are the bed rails, lol.

Oh Yaaaay! I'm glad to hear you liked POFQ. We'll be at POR next month. We stayed at POFQ last year and loved it. This year it was booked
