Sorry about the pics that didn't turn out. Cameras can be to finicky!! I just got a digital and still can't figure out how to turn the flash off lol. Guess I should get some practice shot in before we go away.

Day five -10/29 or as I like to note it as the day from heck

This day was a disaster from start to finish. Nothing went right..nothing. We all got up fairly early. We had to take DN to the airport because he was flying home. I packed up all my stuf for the room move before we left. DBF and I took him at around 7:30. We were at the airport by 8am. We checked in curb side. I got out with DN and DBF parked by the curb. We were only going to be a few minutes, so we didn't park in the lot. I took him up to the curb-side check in for spirit and checked him in. The guy Joel asked him for ID...I said he doesn't need ID. He's a minor. Joel said "he needs ID and they are not going to let him on" I repeated once more "he is a minor...doesn't need ID...didn't need it to get here and doesn't need it to get home" Joel, the idiot, finally gets it and prints his boarding pass. He then says to me "you can't take him in there" I told him I was allowed to take him to the security area. I called to make sure before we left. He again said that I was not allowed in there. Now, it's 8am. I'm tired and I'm nervous about this kid getting home ok. I got just a wee bit nasty. I told him that he would have to shoot me or something because there was no way in this world that I was sending this kid into the airport alone when he has never flown alone and had no idea where to go. He finally says "oh he's a minor...you can take him in" Now didn't we just get the minor thing covered with the ID? What an idiot. Joel's stupidity didn't stop there. He then says to me and DN "this is a free service, but we like you to tip us..notice how the bag tags don't go on until we are tipped" That sounded like a threat to lost luggage to me...what a jerk. I gave him $1 tip which is an insult from me and walked DN into the airport. I went over to the TSA lady and explained to her that he was a minor flying alone and didn't know what he was suppose to do from the security point. She put him to the front of the line and totally hooked him up. What a very nice lady. I watched him off and she came back and said to me "he will be fine. I have him being taken care of. I have grandkids you know" I thanked her, shot the finger to Joel on my way out and got into the car with DBF who wanted to know why I was shooting some man the finger. ..lol

WE got back to the resort easy enough and woke the kids up. They were almost done packing by 10am. I had the bell service people pick up my luggage and store it. I called down the night before and spoke with someone at the front desk who assured me that we would be in the same building, but it would be a bit later than when we checked out. DBF and his son intended to stay for the day. DBF was going to grab a nap and a shower in my new room before starting his long drive. After the bags were picked up, I went down to check out and recheck in. I paid for the new dining plan and was told the room would be ready in a hour or two. That was the longest hour or two of my life. DBF who lost all hope by noon, decided to just start driving while he was still fresh. I was so upset that he left early...I wanted to have one last day with him.

We ate at the fast food place and noticed that we still have 4 table services and 4 counter services left...holy cow! We were never going to use all of that. DBF left right after lunch...I was so sad. The room still wasn't ready at 1pm and the girls wanted to go to a park. I called back to check on the room at 2pm and was told 30 more minutes....that turned into another hour and a half and we finally got the room at 3:30. I was so frustrated by now. I wasted a day waiting for the room. I should have just went to a park or something.

We were assigned room 1813. The room one floor down from the 2 bedroom..lol I tried the door, but my key didn't work. They had to send someone over to open the door and cut me new keys. Then the lock broke...they had to send someone over to fix that. I called for the luggage and told the girls to only unpack what they needed for the rest of the trip. There was no way enough storage to totally unapack three people. It was a shock to go from a place so big to this one. It was a tiny bit smaller than a room at the Polynesian except it had a microwave and a sink. After settling in, we headed over to the Contemporary for dinner at chef mickey's. Some of you may remember that me and buffet food don't mix...ever. WEll I ate at CP (fruit and some eggs) and was ok, so I decided to eat the Chef's....BIG MISTAKE! Dinner tasted just fine and we ate in peace. After dinner, we hung out and checked out the contemporary. I sat on the steps and talked to DF's mom again while the kids ran around. I started feeling that dreadful feeling not even ten minutes later. I hurried the kids and grabbed a cab back to the room....thanks god I did. I never would have made the bus. I was SO sick. I spent the rest of the night losing every ounce of food I ate that day in more ways than one to put it politely....never, never again.

The drama was quite intense this evening too and at one point, I was so frustrated that I wanted to rent a car and drive home...I decided to just go to bed and end the day. At one point I was on the phone with DBF just in tears...it was such a rotten day...

Dana, it's a great trip report! Isn't it nice that the kids are old enough to go out by themselves sometimes? You kind of have the best of both worlds that way!
That was so nice of you to make that little girl's day by mentioning to the CMs that it was her birthday. She will probably remember that for the rest of her life.
I had to laugh when I read about your Poland encounter. People sure can be strange and funny!

Also, the grocery delivery is a great idea.

DBF has a totally sexy everything. He works out a lot..lol The drama was simple. The girl isn't used to being away from home and let's say that this was to long for her to be away. It's a shame for everyone. She's a sweet kid and has been friends with my DD forever, but I just didn't have the patience to deal with it. I guess I should have since I was responsible for her, but I just spent so much money on that trip and just am not equipped to deal with a needy child or person for that matter. I just prefer to call it the drama. It's just as much my fault as it was the kid's. I just expected to much.
