DH and decided we needed to be tossed about a bit this weekend, so he picked me up from work on Friday at 6 and we headed up the turnpike toward my favorite place on earth!

We weren't able to get a room on property so we made ressies at the Radisson Maingate.
For off property, it was fine. It's close by and not too expensive.

We were assigned room 666, but we lived through it!

My only complaint was that there was no thermostat in the room and it was freezing, except with the down comforter on it was HOT. There was no happy medium.

Here's what our room looked like:

We made pretty good time getting to Kissimmee, and checked in about 9:30. We hadn't eaten dinner and I was starving so we ordered room service pizza. It was from Pizza Hut and was pretty icky.

We watched some TV (Paula Dean on Food TV...what a hoot she is!) and went to bed, planning a fun day for Saturday!

I woke up early (as usual) and got ready while DH was still sleeping. He got up and we headed off to AK for our ascent of Everest!
Last trip we didn't make it to AK so that was really our only goal this time.
We arrived at AK about 40 minutes before opening. As we waited outside the gate we had fun watching the talking palm tree. "My name is Wes...Wes Palm"!
It took us a while to find the guy talking for the tree. He was very funny and we got to watch him until they let us in.

We got to watch the rope drop with a special appearance by Minnie, Goofy and Pluto. They rode up in a truck all decked out for the holidays. Mickey was hanging out at the ToL.

We headed straight to EE, picked up a FP and got in the standby line.

We had to wait maybe 5 minutes. Mostly just walking through the line.

The return time was about 45 minutes away, so we decided to walk around a bit. Lo and behold there was a passholder show of the new Nemo Musical! It wasn't to start for 20 minutes so we headed over to Dinoland first.

I know most of you HATE Primevil Whirl, but DH and I love it! We giggle like little kids on that ride!

After Primevil Hurl we rode Dinosaur. It was basically a walk on, maybe 5 minute wait. By the way, you get tossed around a lot more in the back row!

We then decided to check out that Nemo show. Apparantly passholders were supposed to sign up...oops! I didn't. The very kind CM let us in anyway.

The show is AMAZING! Finding set to music with puppeteers. Hard to explain...maybe this photo I swiped, er borrowed...will help...

The guy who did Crush had a great voice! They all did really. It was a very cool show!

Now it was time to head back to Everest and use the FP. By now the standby was 20 minutes or so...still not bad.

After that we decided on an early lunch at Flame Tree. Yummy BBQ!!!

I loved it too. I love this pic. When we went, they told us there was NO photography allowed. There was even a CM going around to people with cameras.

I have yet to mention the weather.
It was hot.


I'm from Florida so I'm used to hot.
Not this hot, not in December!
It was 85 degrees and I wore a black t shirt. Stupid stupid stupid!

So after lunch we decided to go back to the hotel, nap a little and cool off before decided what to do the rest of the day.

Oh yeah. I was suffering from an awful sinus headache , so little nap stretched out until 5.
