iluvwdw and Family Survive the LOOOOONG drive to and from WDW!

OK, so I resized my pics from days 1/2. I figured I would start on that part of the trip at least! Here we go!

CAST OF CHARACTERS:

Me (Kim) - 34 years young
DH (Eugene) - 34 years young
DS (Nathaniel) - 5 years old
DD (Genavieve) 18 months old

As you ALL know, we decided to DRIVE this trip to save money! I thought it BETTER be worth it, because I turned down a $137 fare from JetBlue, inclusive of all taxes to DRIVE! I thought I was nuts. But Eugene had it in his head that he HAD TO DRIVE. Since there was nothing I could do to change his mind, I gave in. And we DROVE!

I woke up at 5:30am on Saturday morning, 12/2. I drove Eugene to work at 6am (with the kids and all!) so he wouldn't have to take the train. It was just so much easier for me to pick him up when he got off work, and we would hit the road from there!

I got to his job at about 2:40p and we left NYC and went for lunch. We started our LOOONG drive down at 4pm. The ride wasn't so bad! Even if we were sitting in a COMPACT CAR!!! But surprisingly, ALL of our luggage and TWO strollers fit in the trunk! And one of the strollers was a DOUBLE! Our Toyota Yaris gets AT LEAST 35MPG on the highway, which is why we chose to take it. Comfy? Not so much!

But it did the job.

At about 2am, Eugene was nudging me awake, saying he NEEDED me to stay awake to talk to him! That he was getting sleepy! I told him NO WAY, I just couldn't! I BEGGED him to forget the idea of driving straight through, and let's pull over and get a room for a couple of hours! Sleep in BEDS! Then leave in the morning. Finally, he agreed! So in South Carolina, we pulled into what was called "DELUXE INN" right off the highway.

Days Inn was right across the street and it had FREE HBO! But who cares? We just needed BEDS! We paid $40 total for the room with 2 queen size beds and it even had a crib for Genavieve! It was PERFECT. We hit the sheets and woke up to our wakeup call at 9am. We left the hotel at 9:30 and went to a nearby Mickey D's for some breakfast sandwiches. At 10am we were off!

Sunday 12/3

So we hit the road at 10am. We had to stop a couple of times for gas and diaper changes. When we were ALMOST in Orlando, I had to change Genavieve. And when I went to change her, I found that I basically needed to DESTROY her clothes!

All of a sudden, she got a bad case of the runs and it was just AWFUL. I didn't realize how bad it was until I got into the bathroom. When Eugene saw me walking back to the car with Genavieve who was almost naked, he was like "WHAT THE.....

" I opened the trunk and grabbed the first available outfit and she was good to go!

Along the way, we came across that interesting building that some of you who drive always point out. So of course, I just HAD to take a picture of it!

At approximately 3pm, we drove onto Disney Property! I was so excited and so was EVERYONE!
