We returned to Disneyland for our annual December trip last week. We were there from the 7th through the 10th. Since I did a large, detailed report just a few weeks ago on my November trip, this one will be shorter and cover a few highlights and details.

The parks and DTD are decorated in full now for the Christmas season. It's a nice way to get in the mood of the holiday season by visiting DLR and taking in the sights and sounds and decorations. My DD (age 7) wants me to tell you all that she got to ride the Teacups all on her own. She's quite proud of this. My DS (age 3) is now tall enough to ride Star Tours and Soaring Over California. He enjoyed both of those rides quite a bit.

We pretty much hit all the major rides that were open over the four days. The only one that was closed was the Matterhorn, which is still going through annual maintenance. I can report though that one of the CMs standing by at the entrance said they are pretty sure it will be back up and working by December 20th. While we were there they were sending the bobsleds through test runs on the track...both unmanned and manned test runs.

Thunder Mountain was down briefly on Friday, but was running the rest of the time we were there. It's my DD's favorite along with Splash Mountain. My son really enjoys the Buzz Lightyear ride, no doubt there but his total favorite turns out to be in California Adventure. He can't get enough of the Monsters Inc ride!

On news from the Finding Nemo Submarine Adventure ride...I noticed they have moved the construction fenceline about twenty feet further out than it was in November. There is a lot of earthmoving going on and concrete molds being set up for pouring.

As you can see by the next picture my daughter is wondering when she will get to ride the subs and my son is just plain not happy that Nemo is not open yet!

Over all it was a great trip. We had a short bit of rain on Saturday, but not enough that it affected any of our plans. The Block Party Bash "Parade" at California Adventure is a very fun and very high energy feature. Also at California Adventure my kids got to "meet" Mater and Lightning McQueen. They really liked that! They came driving down the boardwalk pathway and settled in an alcove for photo ops.

We came home really in the spirit of the holidays and had a great trip.

Sounds like a great trip!! I love the pictures! You kids are just too cute.. Love your DD's tiara. Tell her I said "congratulations" for riding the tea cups solo!!

AWWW, I was so happy to see the DL resort decked out for Christmas!! I've never been to DL during the holiday season but it looks beautiful. I am a little concerned about those Nemo subs!!! Aren't they suppose to be opening this spring, they look nowhere near ready for a possible spring '07 opening

It seems the Matterhorn has been closed FOREVER..

Glad to know it will be up and running soon...

Yes...he knows that it is going to be a Nemo ride and he is NOT happy that it was not open yet and the big wall was still there. A trip through buzz lightyear's Astro Blasters soon had him in a better mood.

TYVM...She really liked that tiara and bought it with her own allowence money...that and a silver tinkerbell necklace. This is the first time she has shown any interest in jewelry...my DW is teaching her how to "accesorize."
