DAY 1

Our story begins on Wednesday morning (Dec. 13) around 5am. I had set my alarm for this time, but due to all the excitement, I was awake way before 5. Unfortunately, DW stayed in bed awhile longer. We were ready to go before 6am, which I had told my folks I wanted to go between 6-6:30. They did not get out of bed until right before 6 but thankfully, they were ready fairly quickly and we were on the road at 6:40.

After a rather uneventful drive, which included a couple rest stops for my folks and DW, we finally arrived at WDW and pulled into the check in parking lot for All Star Sports. Our rooms were not ready yet, so we decided to park the car next to the Home Run Hotel and grab the bus to Magic Kingdom

When we got to MK, I decided this was good spot for PICTURE TIME!!!

After getting that taken, we made the trek to Adventureland to begin the afternoon on POTC. But first, we saw some friends and decided to get some pictures taken...

After riding POTC, we went on to Frontierland and decided to have lunch at Pecos Bill Cafe. Once we were done, DW and I wanted to ride BTMRR, but my folks decided to sit that one out. They are not roller coaster fans, esp DM. So DW and I hit the ride which happily had us in line for around 5 minutes til we got to ride.

Afterwards, we went to see the Country Bear Revue. As an aside, I don't have as many pictures as I normally take because I got a camcorder for myself. Once I figure out how to edit the footage, I will upload it somewhere and maybe R2G will add it to his ever growing list of links. After CBR (which was the regular show, not the Christmas themed one...BOO!!!!), we wanted to go to HoP, but we had just missed the show. So DW and DM went to the shop across the way and DF and I hit the Haunted Mansion. It is amazing that I never get tired of that ride, no matter how many times I go on it.

After that, we were able to go into HoP. I had only seen the show once as a child and that was after my folks forced me to see it. Now as an adult, I appreciate it and I think it is great. Next up, was Mickey's Philharmagic, which completely amazed my folks. Once we were done with that, the folks were a lil tired from the drive up, etc. and since we had reservations for Concourse Steakhouse that evening, we decided to go back to the hotel, unpack and freshen up a wee bit.

Once we found out our room numbers, we headed over and opened the door to...

While everyone else was either resting or getting ready for dinner I decided to walk around the resort a lil bit. Here is what I saw...

Once everyone was ready we hopped on the bus to MK. After the bus let us off, we walked up to the Monorail station...

Ahhhhh, if only our dream to own a piece of DVC would come true...

We hopped aboard and relaxed the couple of minutes til we got to the Contemporary. Mind you, this was the first time in over 25 years that my folks and I had been on the monorail, so at least for me, this was one of the most fun 2 minutes of my life.

We got to CR and went down the escalator and showed up at Concourse Steakhouse. They did not have our table ready yet, so after getting our little pager thingy, my folks sat down and DW & I walked around the concourse...

After about 15 minutes, the beeper started lighting up and buzzing, so we went back over to the restaurant and were promptly seated.

Folks I have to say, if you have not eaten here, you must make a point to eat here at least once! The restaurant is fantastic! Very nice ambience and the food is incredible. I had the NY Strip and that was phenomenal! Our server was kinda young and came off as a lil cocky. Other than that, I will try to get us reservations for our next trip.

After dinner, the folks were tired and went back to the room. DW and I, however, still wanted to go around so we hit the monorail again and went off to Epcot for a lil while

Once we got to Epcot, a real nice lady offered to take our picture at the front of the park...

How fun to go with your parents after 25 years, I'll bet it was a blast to show them everything that had changed! I'm loving all the pictures, you and your wife are just adorable!
