Christmas in Disney,part one
As is our tradition, the night before we leave for NY for Christmas,we spent the day and night at Disney(great AP rate of 59 dollars on the 21st!!) We arrived at All Star Sports around 11 in the morning. When we checked in,we were told that our room wasn't ready. I put on my best brave face and said I guess it's okay, but my mother(politely,of course) said it wasn't and asked if there was anything that was ready. The CM checking us in then decided to grant us an unofficial dream, because he upgraded us from one of the furthest buildings to Surfs Up,one of the preffered buildings!! We were in room 1128,which was less than a minute's walk from the food court and bus stop. We put our stuff in the hotel and took the bus to MGM to catch the launch to Epcot in time for our Candlelight Processional package at Biergarten. The food there is so delicious, with their pretzel bread being every bit as good as,if not better than,Le Cellier's. After lunch,I got on line for the dinner package because i wanted to get a good seat for the show. Edward James Olmos was the narrator. I was very happy just sitting there people-watching and reading my book until it was time to go into the theater. We got great seats right across from where the conductor was sitting waiting to go on. He was sitting what I like to call military straight and fiddling with his music and stuff. I remember thinking that he looked really nervous(he was a conductor we had never seen before).

Re: Christmas in Disney,part one
The CP was as wonderful as always. The conductor really looked like he was enjoying himself,as was the Voices of Liberty and all the singers. After the show was over,EJO made a point of specially thanking the conductor, saying it was the first time he had ever done the CP. No wonder he looked really nervous right before he went to the podium!! After the show ended,we made a point of going up to the conductor and saying how good he did and we really enjoyed the performance tonight. A lot of other people did the same thing. He looked like he appreciated all the people congratulating him.
We then made our way back to the launch to MGM to see the Osborne lights. We got there in time to see the lights dancing. They were great!! I especially appreciated the Christmas music instead of the awful Radio Disney last year. After that,we waited on the line for the All Star bus for over half an hour, which I kind of expected, but at least we got a seat going back. When we got back to the hotel,it was warm enough to swim in the pool, but i was too tired to put on my suit. We just got to our room and watched a Lifetime movie and then went to bed. When we woke up,I went to get something to eat at the food court, which was actually quite good. After that,I went to the gift shop(big surprise, right??),and bought a Goofy Santa hat for my nephew. To my surprise,it was 50% off,so I picked up a Santa Mickey hat for myself!! Then we left the hotel and drove to the airport, and I tell you,for being 3 days before Christmas,it wasn't too bad. We had a wonderful flight to NY(I won all 3 in-flight trivia games i entered),and landed safely. Christmas in Disney part two will follow when we fly back to Florida and stay offsite( )the 30th and at Pop Century . Thanks for reading!! |

What a nice way to spend the day before you travel! The CP sounds like a very special event and something my family would enjoy.
How was your room? The location sounds great. Sports is first on the pick-up route and first off the drop-off route, isn't it?

Mick, I was at the MGM lights on the 21st also (and then went to Epcot afterwards the catch the end of the last candlelight)! I am going to have to look through my MGM pictures to see if I can spot you in any of them.
![]() The lights were so amazing though! I took some video of the dancing lights. I loved them!
