We are home but I wanna go back!!
Hi everyone! Just wanted to let you all know that we got back last night! I have already dropped the hint to hubby that Spring Break 2008 I want to go back!
So here goes, the start of our trip! Cast: Me- Lisa Hubby- David 7 year old son- Justin Day 1&2 We left around 1pm to start the drive from Indiana. We were hoping to drive straight through but it was raining the whole way so we decided to stop in Macon, Ga. The next morning we were out the door by 8 and on the road again! We had to stop at Dunkin Donuts for breakfast, we don't have them around here anymore so I needed my fix! We arrived a Coronado Springs around 2:25pm and boy you should have seen the check in line! It moved pretty smoothly though. By 2:45 we were off to our room, ground floor...yeah!! The room was great! Of course we couldn't hardly get the car unloaded before Justin was wanting to go swimming so we did! For dinner we decided to go to Cocoa Beach to Durango Steakhouse-yummo!! Then went to Ron Jon's were Justin bought his very own pair of Heely's. Now he has some just like everyone else in the neighborhood, he was very excited about that! One the way back we were sailing right along and then all of a sudden traffic completely stopped. A bad accident up ahead on I4. At the point that we stopped we were less than 10 minutes from the resort. In 2 1/2 hours we moved less than 2 miles  this after 2 days in the car!! Well more to come soon, still have unpacking to do! Lisa Been there, seen the Mouse, want to go back!! |

A good start to your vacation, except for the traffic due to the accident! Can't wait to hear more!

Welcome Home! Sorry to hear about the traffic jam. I hate getting stuck in traffic. Hope you were able to find an alternate route!

Ok here is more!!
Day 3 We had a late start but got to MK about 11 am. For the first 1/2 of the day Justin kept asking when can we go back to the hotel??? Hubby and I felt like maybe this wasn't going over as well as we had hoped! By the evening he was definatly into it! I don't think he felt good in the am and was completly overwhelmed! Most of our day we spent at MK but jumped over to MGM for dinner at pizza planet and check it out. We got him on Tower of Terror! I couldn't believe he rode it. He screamed and even cried. He loves drop rides and says he would have ridden it again if it wasn't dark. While at MK I made the whole family ride the Dumbo ride. Neither of them were too impressed but when I was 6 my family made me ride it by myself so they had to ride it with me this time! Day 4 Christmas Day Today was a hang out day! We went swimming, something you can't do here in Indiana on Christmas! We also went to Downtown Disney and that was way to crowded!!! Justin bought lots of Legos at the Lego store and that place was pretty cool!! Had dinner reservations at Spoodles but decided to just eat McDonalds at DTD instead. After looking at the menu for the Maya Grill we decided it was a lot of $$ to spend on a dinner that Justin wasn't going to eat anyways! We are going to Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and more Magic Kingdom tommorrow!! That is all for now! I will let you know the rest tomorrow!! Lisa |

So it sounds like you are referring to the accident that happened on the 23rd. I saw that traffic! And boy was I ever happy I decided to take the backroads around Orlando. I feel really sorry you got stuck in that.
But it sounds like a great vacation so far! Can't wait to hear about the rest!

Now the trip reports are getting me excited and less depressed (only 34 days!) My son was a bit overwhelmed at first too- there was so much to see and do that he was crabby and frustrated. Im glad that he figured it all out.

Sounds like your trip so far is going great, sorry about the traffic accident and being struck for over two hours.

As soon as I figure out how to do pictures I will try to post some!
Day 5 We got to Animal Kingdom just after the park opened at 8am and headed straight for Expedition Everest. Hubby really wanted to ride that and we were afraid of the wait times being forever! He stood in line about 5 minutes!! I couldn't believe it! He loved the ride!! We rode a few more things before doing the Safari! How awesome was that!! We all really liked it! Justin was happy because we helped catch the poachers! Then we went and met Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy. It was close to noon so we decided to head over to Epcot. Boy was that a bad mistake!! We were not planning on going to Epcot but hubby wanted to do Test Track and Soarin'. It took us 40 min. to get through bag check and another 30 min. to swipe our tickets. After finally getting in we find out that both of those rides had 85 min. waits and Fast Past times between 8 and 10 pm. We ate lunch and were on the way to Magic Kingdom. We rode a lot of things and did Mickey's Phillharmagic! That was really cool!! Justin rode his first "bigger"coaster, Thunder Mountain and liked it! About 4:40 we left to go to the Contemporary for dinner at Chef Mickey's. We all had a good time with that and the food was good too!! Back to MK we went! This time we got to ride in the very front of the monorail with the driver! Justin thought that was really neat! Off to more rides! The only thing we didn't ride that we wanted to was Splash Mountain (it was too cold for me!!), Space Mountain (couldn't talk Justin into it!), and Pirates of the Caribbean (when we got over there it was closed due to technical difficulties!) But like hubby says that gives us more of a reason to go back!!! Just before leaving we bought Justin his ears and he wanted his name on the back. A CM at the shop we bought them told us to go behind the confectionary to a shop to have the embrodairy done. When we walked in and told them what we wanted on his ears you will never guess what happened!! They said "Since this is a year of a million dreams, we are going to give it to you for free!" Now I know it only costs $2 to have it done but still it was cool to get a dream and Justin was really excited about that!! They gave him a little certificate that says Ears To You and it is signed by Mickey Mouse! Well I will send more later and I will also work on the pictures! Lisa |
