Boucher0911's "We got the plague, too" Trip Report (with lots of pictures!)

I’m finally going to start my trip report, but I do have to warn that it may take a while to finish. I am STILL sick and the boys are not feeling too good either, so I will be posting as I can in between taking care of them and myself. I am also going to include a lot of pictures, so if anyone is sick of seeing them, let me know. I just think sometimes a picture says a thousand words! That said – here we go…

2/7/07-2/17/07

Accommodations:
Four bedroom rental house off Rt. 192 in Kissimmee which we stayed at with DD (my Dad) and DSM (my Step mom).

Day 1:
Travel Day

We had a fairly uneventful flight. Owen slept through the entire thing (although he woke up screaming when we landed in Orlando because he hadn’t eaten in over 5 hours) and Ethan was pretty good until the last half hour. As DH got our bags and I tried to discreetly nurse Owen at OIA, Ethan fell asleep standing up slumped over a bench. It was one of those moments that had me crackiing up so much that I had tears streaming down my face. Got the rental car and headed to the house to meet DD & DSM. After settling in we went out for supplies for the week. Had a quick dinner and headed to bed because we had to be up early the next morning for AK!

NOTE: I did have pictures of this day but DH accidentally erased ALL of the pictures from our first two days in Florida. I really thought I was going to kill him! So no pictures of day 1 and very limited pics of day 2 (we ran around AK taking pictures like crazy after he realized he had erased them all).

Day 2:
This was our first day heading to WDW! I woke up feeling a little under the weather, but nothing major. We headed fairly early and got there shortly after opening. We decided instead of running back to the safari like we usually do to start the day in Dinoland. Ethan loved Triceratops Spin so much that we had to go back again at the end of the day. Here is a shot of him riding with DH.

DH then took Ethan on Dinosaur for the first time (he just made the 40" mark so he could do a lot of new rides this year). I was concerned that he would be scared, but he came of laughing and wanting to go again with me. We used our rider switch pass to go on again while DH stayed with the baby. I think Ethan is going to take after DH in being a little daredevil (he certainly doesn't get it from me, that's for sure!). After the second ride we headed out towards Nemo and there was not a show for over an hour (sadly we did not make it back to see this show

) so we moved on to EE so Dh could ride. I waited with the kids who were both sleeping by this time.

Funny side note: While waiting for DH this couple standing close to me was having a major fight. All of a sudden I hear her screaming at him with such profanity that I was thanking God that my boys were sleeping! I guess DH and I are not the only one to have meltdowns at WDW! But I promise you would never catch me using the F-word in front of hundreds of little kids!

By the time DH got off EE, the boys were awake and getting hungery. We headed over through Asia where we ran into Devine! It was the first time I have seen her and she was so cool! I got some really great pics of her, but of course they were the ones that DH ended up erasing!!

I made my way over to the Baby Care Center to feed Owen while DH took Ethan to see ITTBAB. After we met up and had lunch at Flame Tree BBQ. I had the pulled pork sandwich & Dh had the pulled beef sandwich - both with beans & corn! Yummy! We had fun watching the birds while we ate in a nice quiet pavillion.

After lunch we headed back to take the train to Conservation Station. Owen was asleep again and we found out we couldn't take the stroller over, so we decided to skip it rather than wake him up. We ended up doing the exploration trail so Ethan could check out the animals. One thing that we saw that was really cool was the bears. There was one that actually came out with a blanket and we all watched in amazement as he stood up and slung it around his "shoulders". It was a priceless moment watching this huge bear head off for a nap with his "blankie"!

Next DH took Ethan on the safari while I was again off to the Baby Care Center to feed Owen (notice a trend here?).

After the safari I met the boys again and we watched the performers outside of the Tusker House. They were really good and the baby loved the drumming - he smiled the whole time. Then we stopped to let Ethan (and DH) play the drums for a while.

Oh - I forgot to mention when we first got to the park we headed right into one of the stores and all bought our Mickey Crocs! We got a pair for Ethan, too, and he loves them!

Ok, next we decided to let Ethan get a tattoo. He chose Mike from Monster's Inc. and had it put on his leg. We realized it was almost time for the parade and we had a great bench right next to the tattoo place, so we stayed put. The boys loved the parade (again, pics were erased!) and all of the characters kept coming over to Owen because he was all smiles. It was at this point that DH started playing with the settings on the camera and somehow managed to erase all of the pictures we had taken thus far!

I'll skip over the "meltdown" that ensued between the two of us (but I still did not use profanity in front of all the kids!

) We were going to try to catch the Lion King show, but Ethan wanted to play in the Boneyard, so we headed back to Dinoland. After that the park was closing so we decided to run around and try to get a few pics since all had been lost. We headed back towards EE and practically had the park to ourselves by the time we headed to Asia and Africa. Managed a few shots to remember the park.

We then headed out and grabbed Burger King on the way home. Just hung out at the house for the rest of the night. Tomorrow was going to be Magic Kingdom (and a whole lot more pictures - I promise!)

Magic Kingdom here we come! DD & DSM decided to come with us today. We arrive early and hop on the monorail. Here is a shot of Ethan eagerly looking out the window looking for all the rides.
