Re: CM and QC's 4th Anniversary WDW and Mouse Surplus Visit Trip Report!
Ok, back to Tuesday, May 8:
Got to Epcot in late afternoon (about 3 or so). Went to Spaceship Earth hoping we'd meet Gingita (sorry, didn't get your PM until we got back). She wasn't working that week since it was closed for rehab but we talked to a cast member who was there and got some info on what the new stuff was going to be about. Apparently, it's mostly the future part at the end that's going to be updated which is certainly necessary. We also got to see the updated Sieman's global neighborhood, which is awesome!!!!! Beautifully laid out and some cool interactive stuff too. Which brings us to Innovations. Which will be on it's way soon!

Re: CM and QC's 4th Anniversary WDW and Mouse Surplus Visit Trip Report!
Tuesday May 8 (cont'd);
Spend about an hour in Innoventions which we don't usually do. They had some great exhibits including an exhibit on magnification that was very hands-on. Really cool to see something magnified to something like 300x its size. DaddyBear rode the Segway (just around the track inside the building) and decided it was not his favorite way to travel. After leaving Innoventions, we headed for the F&G shop which was housed at Odyssey this year. We looked around and bought all the usual stuff (t-shirt, collared shirt, pin, etc.). Then, armed with our purchases, headed over to WS to look at more topiaries and to ride the new GranFiesta!! We got to Mexico and went into the pavilion. We don't usually go inside because, with the market stalls so close together, it's not the most scooter friendly place in WS. We got in line for GranFiesta!! and didn't have a very long wait and were able to ride our scooters all the way down to the boat. The ride is ok and it's fun to see The Three Cabelleros. Bottom line: fun, but not great. It is cute though. After that, spent most of the day looking at WS shops, F&G exhibits and hunted for characters. Met up with Mushu in China and Aladdin in Morocco. We got a snack in Japan that was wonderful and sat outside and watched the drummers, then spent a fair amount of time in the department store there. Then we moved on and hung out in France for a bit and decided to have dinner at the Patissirie. Great quiche lorraine and pastries! Then we headed back to the room and took another moonlight scoot around the grounds (pics of all this on the way when Chastmastr gets back into town). Finally, room and bed. The next day was our resort day.

Re: CM and QC's 4th Anniversary WDW and Mouse Surplus Visit Trip Report!
And since on the way back this weekend I made a couple of stops (at a FANTASTIC place in Winter Park which has fossils and other really old things, at the WDW Marketplace, and at the tragically soon-to-close and be-demolished Suncoast Resort in St. Pete), I'll have some more Disney-related pics (SEE! Me eat at Earl of Sandwich; SEE! Stitch in pirate hat at World of Disney; SEE! The picture I shouldn't have taken on the Sunshine Skyway while I was driving (and man was Cubby unhappy when he found out that I did that while driving and I promised not to do that again )) to add as a sort of postscript, as well as the AKL furniture in the garage...David I have a T-Rex bone fragment and part of a mammoth tooth, neener neener |

At Boatwright's for dinner the first night, I arranged my plates appropriately
, because I do that sort of thing. Cubby rolled his eyes, because he does that sort of thing when I do that sort of thing. ![]() |

This CM at Boatwright's chatted with us for a while and then gave us each a "You've Been Discovered!" card recommending us for CM positions. The fool! The fool!!
(Alas, I am not sure this would pan out in the long run, but it is very cool, and he was very nice.) |

This is what the restaurant in the Mexico pavilion looks like from the boat ride!
![]() (I was so disappointed in the new Rio de Tiempo. Much less educational, though I didn't think that was possible. Nothing like what contemporary Mexico is like, just the touristy stuff...) |
